Preview: The sunflower didn’t think much of it and continued feeding the centipede. It couldn’t wait to make it grow up and possess the ability to take revenge against the Rock Demons.
The centipede which is now 2 meters long clacked its mandibles in joy of its newfound strength. The centipede crawled back up into its master, The Little Sunflower; and coiled around its body like a vine.
The Little Sunflower looked at this new centipede in satisfaction. It looked much bigger and stronger than before. It's dark and shiny carapace became even more compact while the mandibles shine sharply in the darkness. All of these great results in just 5 days of hunting.
It made the sunflower have second thoughts about taking revenge. Although a bit hasty, it gradually realized that through inferring from its previous fight that the future battle that would commence wouldn’t be the same.
Thinking of those rock demons made it extend its retracted thorns in anger. It calmed down after a moment and ordered the Centipede. "Pendra, prepare yourself, we are going south to attack the Rock Demons."
Pendra was shocked and confused. It had never left the Muddy Swamp Region before because it knew how dangerous it was. And now, its very generous master that it just met suddenly announced it to prepare itself to attack things outside. How could it keep calm?
Master, please don’t get us killed.. It silently prayed in its heart as worry clouded its mind.
. . .
In the depths of First Level of Hell, Somewhere in the Western Region, a Shadow Hound crawled out from the darkness and sniffed the place around to investigate, behind it, vague shadows of creatures could be barely seen.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Green eyes with slits that resemble that of snakes lit up in the darkness. Their pupils shifted across the place as though looking for something. Finally, the one in front paused and a voice echoed in the curtain of darkness.
"I found it! It's in that direction! Follow my lead!" The Shadow Hound ran in a certain direction and a group of demons followed him behind like a parade of death. A death for a certain preposterous sunflower that dared to target their kin.
. . .
Rocky Mountains filled with sharp stalagmites pointing at the sky appear at the distance. These stalagmites are filled with cave-like holes that could fill something as big as a truck in it and inside these dark caves is where the Rock Demons live.
At this moment, A rock demon resting peacefully in the cave suddenly opened its eyes wide, it tried to shout and alert its other companions but a root creeped up below it covered its whole body while a centipede followed and forcefully drilled into the tough surface skin.
The usually strong and durable defense it was proud of became especially vulnerable at this moment as the centipede used its mandibles to chew through it. And through these cracks, the roots surged in and spread inside the Rock Demon’s body absorbing the nutrients within, permanently damaging the insides of the rock demon.
The cracks slowly spread and more roots surged in until finally, the Rock Demon could no longer hold it in and BOOM! It shattered into pieces.
The outcome did not surprise the Little Sunflower and Centipede because besides hunting during the past 5 days, they were also discussing strategies about how to deal with Rock Demons and came up with this. The smart centipede provided most of the ideas as it is quite knowledgeable despite being weak. Though this kinda confused the Little Sunflower, it did not think further and gladly tried out the tactics, and voila! It worked.
Despite the worry of the centipede in the upcoming battle, surprise colored it as it didn’t believe what just happened. Although it was the one who gave the suggestions, it still couldn’t believe that it had grown strong enough to tackle creatures like Rock Demons. I’m already that strong?
It contemplated both shock and confusion, as well as endless joy for its correct decision. It had followed the correct person! Ahem, a correct demon! Its initial doubts towards its master gradually dissipated as it looked at the surrounding caves filled with Rock Demons.
It felt greed and hunger thinking about the upcoming slaughter. Hehehe, we’re definitely going to take over them today!
Its joyful feelings weren't limited to it alone as the sunflower was also feeling great. Finally, it felt the sense of superiority and tasted the nutrients hidden within these rocks. “Hahahaha! Come! Let’s go and break more of these stones. I didn’t expect them to taste so great!”
The taste of revenge and new menu encouraged it as it moved outside. And as its figure revealed itself in the open, the centipede followed behind, thrilled.
