Chapter 64: Beautiful

Preview: Sunirae was surprised and curious as she asked the creatures in front. She wondered what type of demons they were and how they’d taste.

“What.. What are you?”

The question rang in the two elves' minds as they realized something at the same time.

They can communicate!

Until now, they have met many demons. Although they had the intelligence to communicate, they didn’t bother to. They were too aggressive and prideful to talk with their prey.

However, the one in front was clearly different. The feeling they got was the same as when they were in the forest. The time when they bonded and hung out with plants and flowers. It reminded them of their hometown and their friends.

It was the same for Sunirae, she was feeling something strange. It was their first meeting, yet she was feeling favorable about them. It was a first for her.

Is this.. A new type of power? How exciting! A new food!

She could feel it. They were weak. She could easily overpower them and taste their flesh.

Roots stirred and they were about to attack. She didn’t want to continue conversing with food as she just wanted to get a taste of them as soon as possible.

It was the same for other demons who were filled with curiosity from their first arrival in this place.

The two elves noticed the movement and felt disappointed.

In the end, it was the same. They don’t want to talk.. Are we destined to die here and not complete our mission..?

Fairheth thought sadly. She couldn’t accept the fact that their clan was about to be exterminated. She was loyal to the clan and was willing to sacrifice herself in order to save them. But now, they were going to die in this unfamiliar place.

“Stop!”

An abrupt voice that sounded more like a screech that caused irritation echoed. Yhaele shouted as he saw the situation worsening. He wanted to know more about the two. In fact, he wanted to know about the world they were from. He had a vague feeling of hope as he looked at them.

“Stop?”

She was confused as she asked Yhaele. She couldn’t understand why she was prevented from eating. It was one of her favorite things to do and now someone was telling her to stop?

“Why?”

If she didn’t get an explanation today, she would surely punish Yhaele in the future. She hadn’t forgotten that Yhaele sneaked up on them at first and was caught by them.

Pendra was more resentful as he spoke spiteful words.

“Master! Eat those things and don't mind Yhaele! Maybe he just wants to get a taste of them too!”

He was inciting his master to take action while snickering at Yhaele.

Fool. Ugly fool. He forgot his own position and tried ordering master!

As Yhaele’s rival, he couldn’t be lacking. He had to oppose all of his ideas and criticize him whenever he made a mistake. He had to magnify his flaws and show his value. He clacked his mandibles in joy as he thought about intercepting Yhaele’s wishes.

Yhaele was annoyed by this and burst out at him.

“Don’t listen to that stupid centipede! Those two have great value!”

In fact, he didn’t know their great value at all. He doesn’t even know what they were. At the moment, he was just hoping to find a method to return to the human world. He missed it. He missed her.

“Those two don’t seem like demons. They don’t have the smell of blood and aura of filth! Look, I don’t think you’ll obtain much vitality and grow from eating them.”

Yhaele said so but Sunirae wasn’t too concerned about gaining strength. She knew they were weak so she wasn’t obsessed about it. Rather, she was curious about the taste.

But Yhaele’s words stopped her. It was due to the confusing term.

“Not a demon?”

It was another first. It was the first time she met a non-demon creature. But how could that be? This is Hell, only demons existed here, then what could they be?

. . .

Simnan nervously watched all of this happen. He was too weak at the moment and his stamina hadn’t recovered yet. He needed to observe them properly and look out for a gap to let his sister escape.

I can’t let us get wiped out here!

Just as his sister thought that it was regrettable. He, too, knew the weight of their responsibility and mission.

Their actions and survival right now meant a lot to their clan and family. It concerned their survival.

We should've teleported to the lower floors..! What the hell happened..!

He was frustrated as he thought about it. They were supposed to contact higher demons as they possessed more intelligence. They could weigh the pros and cons more than these idiots. What’s more, they had the ability to descend to the human world.

Although they were greedy, at least they could negotiate. As long as they could provide something that interested the demons, then they’d move. And what demons are interested in are simple - war.

Their clan is currently at war with other tribes in the Gem Forest. This meant a lot of flesh, blood, vitality and souls gathered in one place. Therefore, he was sure they would have succeeded if only they met a high-ranking demon.

. . .

“That’s right! We are not demons!”

Fairheth felt confident instead of fear as she saw them stop. She proudly introduced herself as she took a step forward towards the sunflower. She saw it, a beautiful sunflower of unique species in Hell.

“How beautiful..!”

She muttered as her face got closer to the petals of the sunflower. And due to the large amount of vitality the sunflower had, she radiated a different aura that resembles that of a great forest containing a vast amount of life. And due to the constant killing, her smell was tinged with the smell of blood.

. . .

“Beautiful?”

It was her first time hearing such words. Yhaele knew but didn’t say it on any occasion. After all, what part of Hell was beautiful?

But at this moment, despite the language barrier, Sunirae seemed to understand the meaning of it.

Her leaves danced without the wind and her petals slightly curled. She was happy. She was happy for some reason.
