Preview: It didn’t understand what happened but found this opportunity to take a break and finally pierce through the bodies of the carnivorous plants. It tried to absorb their nutrients and also try communicating but unfortunately, they were mindless and only had thoughts of devouring and eating inside their minds. This disappointed the sunflower but it didn’t last long as the fresh taste of carnivorous plants traveled through its roots. It tasted differently from the usual flesh and blood of demons and it enjoyed this taste.
The Little Sunflower started to move towards its new destination! Beyond the Muddy Swamp Region! After heading towards the southern part of Muddy Swamp Region and hunting the Carnivorous Plants, It decided that it was strong enough to take on the outside world because the Carnivorous Plants are basically the Overlords in the Muddy Swamp Region!
As it arrived at the edge of the southern part of the swamp, it noticed that the surrounding environment became rocky and rough, the moist swampy lands started to fade in the back of its vision. The snakes and insects that inhabit the swamps became sparse and dark poisonous trees that covered the lands became harder to see, getting replaced by rocky surfaces and boulders laid out on the ground. Tall rock mountains could be seen in the distance.
The Little Sunflower saw something move in the corner of its vision while traveling. Something moved and the ground started to tremble. Dust rose up and an oppressive atmosphere mixed with horrifying killing intent crushed on the Little Sunflower.
"How dare you?! Outsider, why have you come to our lands?! Are you trying to start a war with our Rock Demon Race?!"
A rough voice sounded as if two rocks were being grinded together to produce sounds. The leading Rock Demon shouted and immediately threw a punch at the Little Sunflower.
The Little Sunflower just managed to turn its head around when it suddenly received an attack on its flower head. It became furious and revealed its roots deep underground and started to tangle the Rock Demons. But as though it had met its nemesis, the roots that were usually invincible could not even scrape off the surface skin of the Rock Demons.

This result made the demons laugh in disdain, “HAHAHAHAHA Little thing, you only have this bit of strength yet you dared to challenge us, Rock Demons, alone?! Laughable!!” Their laughter echoed in this starless and dark place as sounds of rocks hitting something soft followed.
A punch came flying towards the sunflower’s stem as more hits connected to form a chain of attacks. It was feeling aggrieved by the fact that it couldn’t deal any damage to the enemy in front. Roots surged and danced in the air, constricting the Rock Demon in front and tightening. But no matter how much it tried to tighten, it couldn’t squeeze the body made of rock as it was beaten one-sidedly.
Gradually, more Rock Demons approached due to the commotion. Seeing the one-sided situation, they laughed and scoffed at the weak and pathetic sunflower.
“Hmph, a mere underworld plant dares to intrude our territory?”
“This guy must be from that lousy swamp. The demons from there are weak and brainless.”
“That’s right. Look at the pathetic thing sending itself to its death.”
They once again laughed and mocked the sunflower. Saying things that it was offering itself as a side dish to them and how they’re thankful for its unwanted efforts.
The Little Sunflower felt humiliation and frustration at all of these. It also felt confused at how the tables have turned. Was I really that weak? The thought circulated in its mind as it remembered its days in the Muddy Swamp Region. It realized that perhaps, it was indeed weak. It felt absolute regret and fear as the event continued unfolding. The battle was completely against its favor and it was being beaten back. The fear of death loomed but fortunately, underworld plants are well-known for their tenacious vitality.
The following event could not even be described as a battle, it was a complete one-sided slaughter. The Little Sunflower was being beaten by the Rock Demons without having the strength to fight back. This completely crushed the Little Sunflower’s confidence of exploring the outside world. The Little Sunflower took the beating in distress and gradually retreated back into the Muddy Swamp Region’s forest.
The result wouldn’t have ended this way if the Little Sunflower encountered other types of demons but it just had to meet one of its natural enemies- Rock Demons. Rock Demons are a rare type of Demon Species that live in groups and fight together. They hunt their prey together and are very territorial, therefore; this outcome was not a complete defeat but a bad matchup.
And with its insufficient experience of dealing with such creatures, coupled with the fact that it only dealt with demons which had soft bodies before. All the odds stacked together to form a suppressive effect that terribly forced it to a corner.
