Preview: The new and novel things always interested her, and this one wasn't an exception. She was filled with anticipation as she looked down at the smoldering pieces of iron across the ground, as though already seeing their final results.
Crude and rough-looking crimson coloured pair of spears and 2 pairs of daggers of the same set were sitting in front of Sunirae, Pendra and Yhaele.
Although that was the case, for the three of them, it felt like they were watching the most beautiful and precious treasures they’ve ever witnessed in their whole lives.
“I really made this? Me?!” Sunirae initially asked softly before her voice rose towards the end. She was filled with excitement and jubilation looking at her creation as though she was looking at her own children.
Hahaha! I really succeeded in creating masterpieces! She and the others were so happy that they ignored the pile of scraps on the side that were left everytime they failed. Their failures were higher than their success and they only succeeded in making those products.
“Hey! We made this together!” Yhaele didn’t wish to give all the credit to Sunirae because he felt like he also helped. In fact, he even felt that his assistance was the most helpful. Because without him, no one would even know what to do nor where to start. All Yhaele did was provide the knowledge and supervise the entire process.
“Yes, Master! I also helped! I cut the unnecessary parts and helped you in many places! I was of great help!” Pendra was also feeling the same. He felt like without his help, these treasures wouldn't even appear in this world as he felt his assistance was vital.
“But I did all the work! I was the one who augmented my roots with magic and combined many of them to form shapes of hammers and anvil! I was also the one who suffered the most! I definitely deserve to be called their creators!” I argue with these two fools who think they helped. Do they think I couldn’t have done it without their help? Hmph, I would probably find a way to hammer and shape them anyway! And cutting? What’s so great about that! I can do that too if I augment my leaves strong enough! Although it might be dangerous..
“But Master, what would you have done without me? You couldn't possibly create the complicated parts to supplement their structures! And even if you did, your final product might not even come close to this! I definitely am a great contributor and we should split the credits equally!” Pendra protested as he felt that it wasn’t right for his master to monopolize the credit of being a creator. “Why don't you say something too, Yhaele?!”
“I think we should just say we all contributed to its creation, therefore all of us are the creators with different contributions.” Yhaele’s answer was as expected from someone as a former human. Very standard and political, satisfying all parties present without leaving one out.
“Hmm, I think Yhaele is right, Master. We three should be their creators!” Pendra enthusiastically replied as he keenly grasped that this choice might have the biggest chance of him claiming a portion of credits and ownership.

Mmm, they do make sense. I guess I have no choice but to give up. Sunirae was also persuaded by the two old foxes as she could only reluctantly let out a soft yes in their minds. Then she asked what was bothering her. “If all three of us claim that we’re the creators, then wouldn’t that be awkward and messy? Shouldn’t we at least do something about it? I don't want to introduce ourselves every time someone who’s jealous of treasures asks for its origins.” Her question was fair and valid, and everyone started thinking of ways to solve it.
“Hmm, I can't think of anything right now. What about you, Yhaele?” Pendra’s attitude towards Yhaele was definitely better than before because of his good mood. He felt that he could spare some of his generosity for this ugly creature at this short moment as a celebration for their first creation. And he also knew that Yhaele was knowledgeable and had many strange and innovative ideas.
“Hmm, since our names start with S, P, and Y. We should call ourselves SPY!” Thoughtfully rubbing his chin below his mandibled jaw, Yhaele acted as though he was pondering some very difficult matters about the profundity of life when he proudly said those words.
“Yes! SPY! It definitely sounds good! From now on, we will be called SPY!” Childish voice filled with happiness and excitement echoed in both Pendra and Yhaele’s minds. They were infected by the tone of the voice and also couldn’t help but feel restless.
Even Yhaele who was originally feeling averse towards the group started to feel a sense of belonging.
So this is the importance of being official and having an official name! It finally feels that something real is happening and you’re part of it! How exciting! Thinking about it, we might spread our names and legends in the Underworld in the future, letting countless future generations of demons admire our eternal name, SPY! Wait, wait, wait, snap out of it, Yhaele! This is all temporary! Your goal is to escape your current situation and find a way to return to your homeworld! Plus, you’re a pseudo-captive right now, don't be so laid back about it!
Yhaele was drooling about the future when he finally remembered his current situation and shook his head. Recalling the trauma brought to him by the sunflower, he now realizes that ever since he arrived in this world 2 months ago, he also managed to acquire 2 traumas. And one of them just happened to be right beside him, admiring his work.
“Hehehe, I feel like we have a very bright future ahead of us! Did I use the word correctly, Yhaele?” A cute voice sounded in Yhaele’s mind and his resolve weakened. He was feeling guilty about having thoughts of escaping, or even harming the team if push comes to shove despite Sunirae saving him.
“Yes, but I think we should decide on who gets to keep and use them first before we talk about our bright future.” Yhaele tried distracting himself by returning his attention towards the rough and crude looking armaments they were so proud of creating.
“Of course, it would be me! I am the one who made it!” Replied Sunirae was smugly as though it is how it’s supposed to go.
“I think, I should get to keep it.” Yhaele’s answer was short and concise without explaining further. Pendra was about to refute and say it should be his but knew Yhaele had an answer prepared so he asked “Why?”
“Because only I can use them. While you are a centipede and you don't need them. Sunirae is a sunflower and she doesn’t need it with her strong vines and roots.” His voice was filled with logical reasoning and nobody could refute it. They indeed had no need nor ability to use those armaments. “Plus, you all contributed to it in physical ways while I hadn’t. I hadn’t had the opportunity to make contact with it, and so I think it’s best to be with me.” His voice echoed in the minds of the two and they couldn't think of any other counterargument after the second reason.
“And, you can always borrow it from me if you want to.” Everyone felt silent as they tacitly agreed to let Yhaele keep them.
