Preview: The answer slightly stunned the Little Sunflower but immediately recovered. This centipede seems to be smarter than other low-rank demons, perhaps it still has some value kept alive. Oh well, if it does anything funny it would just become my food! The Little Sunflower thought evilly and decided what to do next.
The Little sunflower and the centipede that coiled around it moved together in the swamps of the Muddy Swamp Region. Souls howl in despair as they fade away like candle fires being blown. It has been 5 days since the Little Sunflower met this centipede and thought that it definitely made the right decision to keep it alive.
The centipede had great penetrative and poisonous ability. It could burrow inside the bodies of its enemies and deliver poison to kill them slowly. Although it was such an overpowered ability, it was only limited to the weak ones. But this did not diminish the sunflower as it saw potential. It saw the hope of breaking through the rock hard defense of Rock Demons as long as it put some effort in nurturing the centipede.
Thus, the moment the Little Sunflower heard the response from the centipede, it immediately decided to subordinate it using the Soul Branding technique it reverse-engineered from devouring the soul of the Fiery Hound. Although the pirated ability was crude and more of a simplified version, it was still enough to deal with the weak creature at the moment.
The fragmented memories contained in the Fiery Hound’s soul was quite large so it took a bit of time to digest and it only learned this technique until now. This technique was something that Valmor, the Hound Master used on the Fiery Hound but the Little Sunflower figured out the principles behind it and found out the usage. Albeit still crude, it immediately used the newly learned Soul Branding technique on the centipede and gained a new and loyal companion.
It realized that doing so was definitely a smart decision seeing the results now. The Poison Centipede was smart and knew many things about the surrounding environment. Looking around, one could see countless carcasses and corpses of dead demons laid out on the ground, and a centipede chewing on them. Although they looked empty and hollow, they were still great tonic to the Poison Centipede.

These past few days, they have been hunting in the entire Muddy Swamp Region to strengthen themselves. The event from a week ago still lingered in the mind of the Little Sunflower and this urged it to recover and become stronger as soon as possible to take its revenge! Although it felt fear, it felt more humiliated and indignant about the outcome! It swore to take revenge and annihilate the entire Rock Demon tribe in the near future!
Hunting and devouring these few days bore results as the Sunflower grew to a grown man’s height and also managed to acquire a new ability- Sunflower vines! These vines were actually part of the stalk and the nodes of the leaves but they are now stretchable and could be bent in weird angles just like a whip! Another thing that came with it are thorns! The Little Sunflower started to grow thorns as it evolved to adapt to the surrounding harsh environment in the swamp. It could choose to grow thorns in every part of its body and stretch it till 6 inches! Just this alone is already a very powerful ability but it could also choose to retract the thorns and disguise itself as a harmless and weak underworld plant.
Unfortunately, these abilities did not make it invincible as there are countless types of demons with strong and defensive physiques. It could be used with the ones with weaker bodies but not towards those leaning on defense and physical strength.
All of these greatly boosted the Little Sunflower’s confidence to face the Rock Demon tribe once again but was afraid that it would be insufficient so it is also trying to strengthen its underling, the Poison Centipede.
The Poison Centipede has been living in absolute bliss these days. Although it has lost its freedom, it gained a powerful, generous master. Its master feeds it the leftovers of the creatures it kills and all it has to do is eat those carcasses. This kind of lifestyle was something completely new to the Poison Centipede who was relatively weak and in the lower strata of the Muddy Swamp Region’s food chain. It used to be afraid of approaching- much less gaze on stronger demons, it could only munch on smaller prey.
With the help of the sunflower, the centipede grew rapidly and its offensive power increased. Especially its physical body. With the constant supply and consumption of stronger demon flesh and blood, it kept evolving and getting closer to the peak of the swamp’s food chain.
“I have to serve master well if I want to take off and rise!” It had this strange thought as it fully accepted its role in a jubilant mood. It no longer needed to be worried on where to find food for the day the moment it met its master and now, it could even possibly rise together.
Such thought exhilarated the weak thing as his thoughts ran wildly about the future, a colorful creature.
The sunflower didn’t think much of it and continued feeding the centipede. It couldn’t wait to make it grow up and possess the ability to take revenge against the Rock Demons.
