Preview: The sound of blood dripping and corpses falling was eventually drowned by silence. Useless thoughts spun in Sunirae’s mind as the home of Winged Monkeys was no more.
The fight ended as quickly as it started. No, it wasn't even a fight, but a massacre.
The trio was satisfied with the results of their work while watching the valley strewn with corpses and carcasses of Winged Monkeys.
An idea came to Yhaele’s mind as he took the wings of some Winged Monkeys and started tearing them open. Blood gushed out and roots suddenly creeped closer to him. Yhaele was startled to jump backwards and entered a combat stance only to realize it was Sunirae. And the wings he just tried dismantling were already dried husks by the time he reacted.
“Why did you steal my wings?!” Yhaele shouted in exasperation, only to realize his tone later and felt an illusionary sweat on his forehead.
“What? I thought you weren't going to eat it so I just ate it! I! Love! Food!” Childishly replied Sunirae. But if only the context weren’t about demon meat they just massacred, then it definitely would’ve been adorable.
“Yeah yeah, go ahead and eat it. Just remember to not touch my portion later.” Replied Yhaele nonchalantly, pretending to be calm while inwardly sighing in relief. Phew. Thankfully she wasn't mad and didn't send me to meet my maker.
Yhaele had nothing but fear towards the strange sunflower no matter how closer they became through the journey. Remembering the strange methods of Sunirae, he definitely wouldn't want to get entangled by roots and have his whole essence absorbed in despair. He was a human after all, one that already died once, so he inevitably feared death.
Mm, these Winged Monkeys are worth it after all! I suddenly feel sorry for getting mad at Yhaele earlier for not arriving quickly. We wouldn't have stopped at this place and I wouldn't have gotten to taste such delicious food. Especially the flesh of the young and females, they're specially soft and chewy, unlike the hard and rough flesh of adult males.
Pendra greedily chowed the flesh and blood of the young and female Winged Monkeys. He especially loved the brain that was soft and was covered in some grayish white spinal fluid, which tasted unique like a sauce. Pendra was wishing that Yhaele knew more of such places and asked out “You ugly thing, do you know any more places like this? Consider it as me being generous and act as your bridge to let you be forgiven by my master for earlier.”
Pendra haughtily asked and even used some intelligent words to talk to this stupid and ugly demon. Hmph, your contributions will serve to lighten your punishment and not be eaten by my master.
Pendra felt like his intelligent words wouldn't get to the thick skull of the ugly thing but he was also glad for it to be that way because it showcases his superiority.
Hmph. You think I don't know your intentions? You are just craving for more and this has nothing to do with your master! Stupid thing.

Yhaele was loathing at the centipede’s choice of words as his thoughts continued. Well, it's not like I know any place like this. I just arrived here two months ago, how could you possibly expect so much from a cowardly human- no, a cowardly demon like me? The Soleis Volcano was just found coincidentally and I didnt even explore it.
Roots wriggled on the ground and pierced the corpses strewn across the valley. They turn to dust soon after and the only ones left are from Pendra and Yhaele.
Yhaele processed the Winged Monkeys’ wings due to a stroke of genius he suddenly had. Wings! What comes to mind first when you think of wings? Isn't it flying freely under the blue sky, dominating the skies? Although it's no longer blue, that doesn't matter! I can finally achieve every man’s dream of being able to fly!
He first took some muscle tendons from the legs of Winged Monkeys. They were very long and tough strip-like muscle fibers. Still covered in blood, he collected many of them to prepare for the failure of his creation. After all, he was a soldier, not an artisan.
“Ooh? What are you doing?” Sunirae’s flower head came closer as though to inspect his activities, while Pendra followed while crawling and coiling on Sunirae’s body.
“Oh, it's nothing. I am just trying to make an item from my imagination.” Replied Yhaele casually as he knew the two idiots wouldnt understand him anyway.
“Mhm, I can see what you’re trying to make there.” Pendra replies in agreement even though he hardly understood what he was trying to do. He was trying to show his superior intellect towards Yhaele whenever he had the opportunity.
“Oh? What is he making, Pendra?” Sunirae asked Pendra curiously as she knew that her slave was wise and knowledgeable due to its long life. Is he making something delicious? Stupid thoughts about food bubbles up inside Sunirae’s mind again as Pendra replies
“Uhm, I think it would be better to let him explain it himself, Master. After all, it's his creation and I could be wrong.” Pendra hurriedly made up an excuse and inwardly praised himself for being a genius.
Heh, you think I don't know what you are trying to do? Give it up stupid centipede! Yhaele inwardly sneered but still replied “I’m trying to make wings similar to those monkeys so I can FLY!” he shouted the word fly with such enthusiasm as though he was waiting for this very moment.
“Heeh, but how will you make it? And how can you fly?” Asked Sunirae curiously. She was curious as to how those dead wings without their owners can make a wingless creature possibly fly.
That's the problem! I don't know either! Inwardly cursed Yhaele as he replied “I don't know, but I’ll try regardless.” His face was serious and was filled with determination while saying that, as though nothing could stop his dreams, even if it was God obstructing him.
“Alright, I'll look forward to your creation! I hope you can teach me how to make one by then!” Cheerfully replied Sunirae. She thought that it was a great idea to let Yhaele in the team. Ever since Yhaele joined, she learned a lot of new things, like fertilizers, the sun, the blue skies, all kinds of dishes and concepts. She felt as though there was a wider world out there, but she wasn't sure where because Yhaele would always stop talking midway.
“Hmph, I’m sure he's just messing around and wasting food. He would probably fail since he doesn't even know what he’s doing.” Pendra sneered at whatever Yhaele was trying to do just like he always does.
The two left Yhaele to do his own thing while they explored the valley curiously. They were looking for prey left behind to eat to pass time.
Hmm, if I remember correctly, there should be some that escaped right? Considering it has already been some time, they should've returned. Sunirae ran her roots on the walls of the valley to check the vibrations. And sure enough! Those who escaped earlier are back!
Hmm, if we attack now, a lot of them would probably escape just like last time. Hmm. Ah, I should insert my roots inside the walls and attack them silently! Just like that time with Rock Demons! Hehehe, I’m really smart.
Sunirae called for Pendra to get off her and start to monitor the valley to prevent others from escaping like last time, while she spread underground and to the walls.
Cries sounded in the valley but they cut short as their cries were drowned by the caves they were in. Pendra and Sunirae did not let any of them escape this time, nor did they waste time. They immediately killed those who tried shouting and wiped out the valley cleanly. And so, another massacre unfolded, one that cleared the whole valley in one go. Meanwhile, a certain Demon was out there playing with wings and tendons, not noticing the carnage happening ahead.
