As Sunirae’s voice echoed in the gloomy environment, she gradually calmed down and took in the surroundings.
Looking down, there are a few scattered leaves on the reddish soil on the ground. Together with some centipede legs, it's obvious that they suffered some damage from spatial transfer to the 2nd Level of Hell.
“No wonder not many demons can successfully find the portal and survive, it turns out transferring to the lower levels would cause one to suffer wounds.” Uttered Pendra in knowing tone.
According to its memory, the difficulty of descending to the lower levels stems from the fact that the portal or 2nd Gate itself is not static. And one of the prerequisites to descend to the 2nd Level of Hell is to have overwhelming strength amongst hundreds of demons. Considering that both of them can individually dominate around 200 or 500 demons, it shows just how high the requirements actually are.
It means one needed to be capable and strong in order to withstand the spatial turbulence from traveling the Torn Void to go to another plane. And it also shows just how powerful those who can get through it and survive to continue descending. Most of the demons that can successfully descend are usually demons with rare bloodlines or have powerful bodies.
The two of them are exceptions as Sunirae could use mana despite being a low-ranked demon to augment herself while Pendra is a demon specialized in defense and maneuverability.

Just thinking about them traveling to the dark swirling vortex without any idea of the danger lying beneath sent shivers down the carapace of the little critter. Thankfully, they were sufficiently strong and could withstand it well with their strong constitutions and good combination.
Growls and howlings could be heard from the distance as Pendra finally calmed down from the thought that they might have just escaped from death's door.
Raising its antennae and moving it around, it got the sense of the surroundings through the vibrations it could capture in the air.
This new place was filled with wonders and a much higher temperature compared to the highest level. Here, flames randomly spew out from the ground causing some poor little demons to cry out from time to time. Blood constantly spills the surroundings causing the surrounding rockeries and environment to be dyed with red and filled with madness. What's more frustrating is the gravity that is at least twice as stronger compared to the 1st Level of Hell. It's especially unfriendly towards demons who have weak constitutions and thankfully it is not.
Sunirae also had time to look around her surroundings and check the place they were teleported in.
Reddish vines hanging from the ceiling that couldn't be seen and remained in darkness, on the vines hang strange fruits that look like heads of babies with their eyes closed. And the ground they were standing on surprisingly has “grass” growing as far as the eyes could see.
The grasses were green and knee deep high for humans and the whole place looked picturesque. But if you combine it with the strange sight of swaying vines and their creepy fruits, everything just screams danger.
Sunirae and Pendra immediately held their “breaths” and slowly, cautiously surveyed the area. From time to time, demons could be seen walking aimlessly, their eyes dull and their skin greenish. They seem to have lost their natural bloodthirsty desires as they become dociles as reared sheeps.
The duo started moving to find a way out of this place and decided in one direction. Immediately, they put their thoughts into action and skittered out of the way.
The grass parted like a sea of green as they trailed through the ocean of green and occasionally brushed past the strange hanging vines. At times they see silhouettes of all kinds of huge demons abruptly disappearing as if they were captured by something unseen, hidden in the bushes. And this just accentuated the fear that was slowly accumulating inside the duo as the whole place’s strangeness was too terrifying.
Finally, after an unknown amount of time, the duo got out of that strange environment and the 2nd Level of Hell fully unfolded in front of them.
The two mentally heaved a sigh of relief as they felt that they escaped a calamity. While Pendra was inwardly crying tears of joy for surviving yet another day and glad that even its usually reckless master did not do anything rash in that strange and new environment.
