Preview: Sunirae was satisfied as she prepared her Slave Branding technique she copied from a certain someone.
Sunirae called for Zenolith and he obediently came closer.
Zenolith knelt down and lowered his head as his deep voice resounded “What orders do you have for me, master?”
“Loosen the grip of your mind and do not resist. I will brand you with my technique. It is not only to keep your loyalty but also give you, uhm, glory. So, be happy!” She initially started off as graceful but gradually sped up her pace at the end as she felt flustered. These were the words she learned from Yhaele and felt that it was suitable to use at the moment.
Zenolith was overjoyed as he did just that. He felt a searing pain press on his mind as though his soul was being burned. It was only an instant but he felt like he died once. “Thank you, Master” His gratitude didn’t diminish but the excitement for it did.
Sunirae was overjoyed at the fact that she gained full control of the Magma Golem race and replied cheerfully “No problem.”
Her tentacles wiggled as she observed the now loyal army in front. “A new task.” She said and the entire place fell quiet. They have just finished the first mission and another one came their way.
The Magma Golem could only clench their fists and knew that since they already jumped into this ship, they could only go all out. “Please instruct us, Master.” Their loyalty and thirst for glory in battle inspired them as they shouted.
She paused for a moment as she took time to form her words and say “I want the Ketus to be under SPY this time.”
Silence. They finally understood. So their Masters are finally making the step towards conquests. Excitement filled them and their cores heated up. Pounding their chests, they sonorously shouted “Yes!”
Although aware of the consequences, Zenolith was the same. He was looking forward to the development of his race under the three Lord’s reign. He immediately wished to jump into the battlefield and collect contributions.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Albeit excited, he could still see the fact that their entire race had been weakened due to the battle just now and inquired regarding it. “Master, we just finished a battle and need time to recuperate. Plus, our numbers have dwindled, are we going to launch it now?”
Sunirae went silent as a root silently poked Yhaele, whispering into his mind “Hey, what do you think?” Personally, she wanted to send them in right now but knew she couldn’t be too harsh.
Yhaele thought about it seriously and replied “I think we shouldn’t send them to their deaths right now. But if we do, we should at least send reinforcements and keep them alive and also make them feel indebted and dependent.”
His cunning mind was exposed and Sunirae was enlightened. She felt that this trick is very similar to what she came up with earlier and agreed. “Alright!”
Her wiggling roots stopped and the scene was filled with silence again as the Magma Golem anticipated a response. “Now. But, don’t worry. We’ll send help from the side and not let you die pointlessly. Also, the enemies killed this time will belong to anyone who contributed! So, become strong and kill to become stronger!”
Her words enthused them. She previously hogged all the bodies due to her needing them for hatching the Cockroach’s King’s egg but this time, she did not need it. Also, she felt that ever since she descended to this Level, all she did was eat. It was about the time to digest all the energy and nutrients she harvested and undergo a boost to prepare for another descent.
Previously, she couldn’t find a proper time to sit back and digest them as they kept encountering one thing after another. But having loyal subordinates now, she could just sit back and relax and wait for results while she focuses on digesting.
The Magma Golems moved slowly in a chaotic manner as Yhaele watched them leave.
“I should go out and join them to hone my skills. I feel like I’m about to achieve a breakthrough soon.” He left a reason as he brought his spear with him towards the battlefield.
Even though I just went through a battle, I’m not tired at all. During the past few battles I’ve had, I have been gaining some ideas and thoughts about my own spear style. Yhaele thought to himself as he tried remembering the spear arts he learned in the military. It wasn’t a top-notch spear art but it was flexible and varied. The teacher who taught the spear said that it wasn’t without reason. The reason why such a spear art was taught to all soldiers regardless was because it was to let them think. To let them arrive at a conclusion and create their own style. The nameless spear art would become unique to the individual by then. Thank you so much, teacher.
Pendra just looked but didn’t say a thing. “Aren’t you going to join him, Pendra?” My master asks me but I refuse after carefully thinking my words. “No, I feel like I need to slumber for a while and shed. I feel like I’m.. about to evolve.” He felt an inch so great this time that he didn’t wish to join battles. He just wants to sleep and grow stronger.
“Hmm.. So my strengthening plan is a success! We’re all digesting our gains right now and are about to soar! I, too, feel like I’m about to digest and evolve soon. By then, we can focus our energy into finding the Third Gate and descend to the Third Level.”
The two kept quiet as they listened to tremors coming from the ground reach them. They knew that time was short and they had to rush. There was still a hidden danger behind them and they couldn’t afford to be reckless now.
“Let’s rest for now.” Sunirae said as she stood on the spot and waited for the battle about to unfold.
