Preview: And with its insufficient experience of dealing with such creatures, coupled with the fact that it only dealt with demons which had soft bodies before. All the odds stacked together to form a suppressive effect that terribly forced it to a corner.
The Little Sunflower threw out one of its roots to the closest tree near the swamps as its body kept being pushed back. Then it used its roots as spears to strike the Rock Demon who was attacking it despite it being pointless.
The Rock Demon was knocked back while the Little Sunflower brought its body back to the Muddy Swamp Region by dragging its body towards the tree it shot earlier. Countless grievous wounds wrapped its body as it rushed. It hurriedly rushed towards the forest with its beat and battered body, a few of its leaves and petals hanging weakly on the sides. The once bright and lively sunflower seemed dim at this moment. The injuries it incurred is something it has never experienced before, although it has tenacious vitality thanks to it being a plant-type demon, these injuries still greatly impeded its movements. Leaves fall to the ground and juice-like flower liquid flows out of its body wherever it passes.
The feeling of pain, frustration and weakness surged through it. But it did not discourage it. Instead, it just made the sunflower motivated to grow stronger and take revenge. Somehow, in a strange manner and reason, the Rock Demons awakened its vengeful personality.
I’ll remember this! I must be more careful next time and make sure to hunt them all at once! Then I will eat them! And devour their souls! The Little Sunflower was traumatized and learned the harsh reality of things. It was strong! But not strong enough to explore this whole place! It felt the urgent need to increase its strength as it disappeared amidst the towering trees and darkness.
The Little Sunflower kept moving until it felt safe enough. It stopped and sensed its surroundings before confirming there wasn’t anything dangerous nearby and finally rested. Its roots that were overworked from traveling started to burrow deep into the ground to find food and the remaining leaves on its body spread out to absorb the nutrients in the air. As it did so, a bush nearby rustled and out came a centipede.

The centipede’s exoskeleton was shiny black and the legs crimson red with the head at front equipped with big pincers and antennae for hunting their prey. It slowly creeped towards the Little Sunflower. The arm length centipede was actually feeling fear and trepidation at this moment because this thing in front may look injured and weak but it actually emits a terrifying energy. This power is what attracted the centipede and made it steel its resolve to try and take a bite, it felt that this energy is definitely something good! As long as I could bite a bit of this thing I am sure that I would definitely become stronger! With this thought in mind, the centipede rushed up and bit the stalk but unfortunately, it could not even deal any damage!
The Little Sunflower watched all of these in amusement but could not do anything at the moment as it is heavily injured so it let the centipede be. The centipede was too frightened to move and could only wait for death but surprisingly, even after an hour had passed it was still alive!
The centipede mentally heaved a sigh of relief but did not dare to relax or move from its place because the Little Sunflower has it on its palms(roots) now. With its life hanging on the line, it became as docile as a dog and just spun its body besides the Little Sunflower to rest.
As the Little Sunflower gradually recovered some of its strength, it started to take action and questioned the centipede. “Who are you? Why did you try to bite me just now? Could it be that you want to become my food?” The Little Sunflower’s voice directly echoed in the centipede’s mind and bombarded it with questions.
Pheromones?- This thought popped up in the mind of the centipede before it snapped back to reality “My lord, I am but a nameless Poison Centipede. I- I didn't mean to offend your greatness but my desire took over my rationality for a moment and lost myself in the heat of the moment. Please don't eat me, my lord! I am willing to do anything and be at your beck and call anytime!” The centipede cleverly answered all three of the questions honestly and even managed to beg for its life.
The answer slightly stunned the Little Sunflower but immediately recovered. This centipede seems to be smarter than other low-rank demons and it's cute! And I wont get much meat from eating it anyway, so maybe I’ll just spare it? Oh well, if it does anything funny it would just become my food! The Little Sunflower thought evilly and decided what to do next.
