Preview: But despite their weak and exhausted bodies, their minds were wide awake as they stared at the passageway in excitement. They couldn’t wait to plunge head first and explore the dreamland for any Low-Rank Demons. The last floor just before they become Middle-Rank Demons.
“Is this the gate towards the Third Level?”
Zenolith exclaimed in awe. He has never seen such a magnificent sight in his life. Unlike Sunirae and Pendra who had experienced it once. Thus, his experience was limited and he was easily enthralled by the captivating sight of darkness swirling. With an unknown world hidden beyond.
“Wonderful..”
Herundira followed suit and admired the scenery. He had grown up in an environment of magma and bloodshed. He never had the time to admire the beautiful and captivating charm of darkness before. But at this moment, he felt that it was worth just coming here and witnessing the sight. It stuck in his mind as the most impactful event in his entire life.
“Indeed.. It’s wonderful..”
Siera agreed as she also stared ahead. The darkness clung to the wall tightly like a sticky and viscous liquid glued on the surface. Some vague snake-like silhouettes and outlines could be barely seen within the darkness while the portal spun in the air, giving off an aura of destruction, and at the same time, allure.
Even demons who were fond of blood and murder were captivated by the sights in front. Their emotions were totally understandable as they were novices when it comes to descending.
“Mhm. Let’s go.” Sunirae actually agreed with them as well and wished to admire it more but she was too excited. She didn’t want to waste any more time as her subordinates had already completely gathered.
Her roots surged and whoosh! The subordinates were wrapped by them, Yhaele included.
Why do I have to be included? I can walk and enter by myself.. He blanky thought to himself as he stared at the enlarging pool of darkness in his vision.
Darkness filled the eyes of everyone and everybody lost their sense of time. Everyone felt as though they were stuck in a limitless quagmire of time in a desert and a swift moment comparable to an instant.
Before they could react, their bodies flew out from the void and they arrived at the Third Level of Hell.
Sunirae and the rest were about to cheer happily when screams landed amidst their ranks. They immediately tensed up and became vigilant as they sized up their companions.
The darkness of the Third Level of Hell was thicker than the two previous floors. Here, not even the ground produces light, the whole place was pitch-black. Most creatures here developed in ways that allowed them to sense their surroundings.

The batch of newcomers felt unfamiliar and uncomfortable as they couldn’t properly access the situation of the demon that just released a scream.
Sunirae used her ability to send the substance in the air and the substance of the demon to realize that a part of his substances were missing, especially in the leg area. She realized that he must’ve been caught up by the spatial turbulence due to his weak body when crossing over.
Most of the time, descending doesn’t cause much problem. Due to most descents done by demons who are completely prepared and already dominated their floors, it means they had a sufficiently strong physique and strength to withstand the turbulence.
But this time, due to their large numbers, some accidents couldn’t be avoided. Just because they spent half a month trying their best to gather and farm other demons doesn’t mean they managed to temper and refine their bodies enough to withstand the spatial turbulence.
In fact, the guy was quite lucky as he only lost his leg, thus he could let out a scream. When Sunirae checked up on the situation and counted, she realized that there were lots of pebbles and dismembered limbs sprawled on the ground. Although they expected it, the cruelty of the situation still made everyone silent as they awaited to hear good news from their Lord.
“They’re all dead.” Sunirae’s usually cheery voice was gloomy this time. Although others didn't have senses as sharp as hers, they could still notice the stationary bodies nearby and knew something was wrong.
The news didn’t surprise them too much. They were warned beforehand and thus they were mentally prepared. This was also the limitation of demons’ emotional intelligence, they did not feel much besides fear as they watched their colleagues die and sprawled on the floor. They calmly moved on as feelings of fear and horror filled them. Thankfully, they managed to temper their bodies sufficiently this time, otherwise, it would have been them on the cold floor.
The Magma Golems were lucky as their hard and stocky bodies happened to be among the best physiques among demons wishing to go lower and descend. But they still lost a few and couldn’t do anything about it as not everyone could possibly have the ability nor potential to come here.
Most of the demons that had died during the transfer were Ketus and Tikbalangs as they had bodies made of flesh and blood. Although they possessed incredible defensive powers, in front of spatial storms and turbulence, they were nothing.
They were immediately swept away and grinded into ground meat.
The number of losses made Siera and Herundira’s faces ugly as they thought about commanding a small army in the future. Somehow, in one way or another, their numbers were gradually caught up by the Rock Demon race who were about hundreds in size.
The loss this time was simply too great and their initial ambitions and excitement was doused by the harsh reality, replaced by coldness and rationality. Now they only felt vigilance and wary towards this place and forgot their initial enthusiasm.
“We should probably eat the corpses or dispatch them right away. We don't want to attract foreign and hostile demons at this stage. We just arrived and although I’m confident that I can survive, I’m not sure about you guys.” Yhaele said bluntly to everyone. His words were clear enough for everyone to understand that the situation at the moment was indeed dire.
They were new here and unfamiliar with everything. And the environment felt suffocating and heavy to them, especially the omnipresent darkness that occupied the whole place. It reminds them of the walls at the edges of the Second Level, but this time, it covered the whole floor.
They hurriedly started moving and picked up their companion’s bodies. They didn’t want to waste their meat and essence power so they ate them to strengthen themselves and not waste resources. They acted like nothing happened and replenished their energy for the upcoming journey in this unfamiliar place.
Yhaele took in all of these with a weird expression and feeling. He felt disgusted at the fellows who didn’t hesitate to eat their own as he remembered his transmigration here. He was ashamed of his thoughts and his previous actions as he felt that he was becoming more and more hypocritical by the day while living in Hell.
Tsk, having a humane side of me creates lots of problems. I can’t keep thinking in the same perspective a human would in the future. Sigh. I can only accept my fate now and become a true demon.
He tried straightening his thoughts as he looked around. He directly ignored the group that just lost a lot of their members that are now engaging in cannibalism. Although he had done it himself before, he felt that he was different from these fellows as he felt he did it out of necessity and survival.
But deep down, he also knew that he was just comforting himself. He knew he was slowly turning into a demon. And it was only his human side confronting his current self, not willing to let go of his past attachments as a human.
