Like most large animals, Large Cave Tarantulas have red blood. That deep red blood was all over our spider's face right now as she witnessed various family members got crushed under a wooden club. She stood there in shock, unable to move from the spot she stood.

Lifting the club was a hulking monster of a man. It was the first time she had seen a human, and it was terrifying. It was like a giant metal golem using a tree trunk as a weapon and killing the beings around it without any hint of remorse. She couldn't tell what it was thinking but had no desire to know as she saw it swing the club.

Before our spider could get attacked, her brother pushed her out of the way. The swing aiming for her missed and created a large crater. Her eyes grew wide as she realized how close death was. That one man was a dangerous monster, yet there were three more attacking them. One produced fire from its hands, and another threw large rocks around like nothing. The final one was on the ground and looked harmless. Yet, something about it seemed dangerous.

Thanking her brother, it was clear what the plan was. If they wanted to survive, they needed to take down these monsters.

They aimed for the one on the ground. It had cowered down in a way that made it seemed smaller. They got their webs and wrapped them around the small human. Like the dragon before them, they wanted to slow this human down. Tying the human up as much as possible, the two spiders attempted to drag it out of the battle, only for the webs to get cut apart. The other human slashed them off with a sword before attacking them. Our spider and her brother avoided it, but a few other spiders got hit. They didn't die, but it severely injured them.

The two grabbed the injured spiders and moved them far away. The sword-wielding human went after them for a bit, but some other spiders came in to distract it. Unfortunately, those spiders weren't able to get back alive.

The two siblings put the injured spiders on the ground to rest. With half of their abdomens sliced off, the wounds had to be encased in webs before they could bleed out. With only four legs left, the injured spiders didn't seem like they could fight any longer.

That wasn't the end of it. The large human slammed his club into the ground, and suddenly they started to float into the air. A whirlwind started to pick up all of the spiders and pulled them all into one place. Our spider could hardly see as she ended up squashed between many siblings and relatives. Everything went dark as blades of wind stabbed through her leg. Her frontmost left leg, the leg that was practically her hand, was stabbed with a blade of wind.

The pain wasn't over. The wind pulled the injured area of the leg away from her. The pain was indescribable, and the upper half of her leg slowly got torn off. The blood flew far out with the wind, only being able to be stopped with her hand biting on the wound. It hurt. It hurt too much for her to think straight. The only thought on her mind was that for her own good, she shouldn't let go.

Finally, the cage of wind let her go. Violently, she and many other spiders slam to the earth. Getting up quickly, our spider quickly covered her wound with some webs. It was hard to get up, but she would have to get used to it. Wounds didn't just grow back after all.

She saw more blood fly out as the large human continued to whack her family like it was a game. She couldn't stand this anymore. But even though they all attacked with all their might, the four humans seemed to be standing strong. If they were an army, these humans were giant kaiju. They couldn't win. They had no chance.

She just stood there, unable to react. It was inevitable. They were doomed.

She wouldn't have moved at all if her brother didn't shove her to the side. Unable to realize what was going on, her little brother made a happy little squeal before getting demolished by a large pelt of fireballs.

Many fireballs were blasted into the young spider. Even when it was obvious that the arachnid was dead, the human didn't stop. The body was pelted with orbs of fire with the speed of bullets. So many burnt their way through the body that it didn't even look like a spider anymore. Worst of all was the fact that the human didn't seem to care. In fact, the human was laughing. The human was laughing at their struggles.

Our spider was in shock. She couldn't move. She didn't notice the small human blast through the cave wall. She didn't notice the humans run away despite the carnage they caused. She only noticed the dead and mangled remains of her brother.

The remaining survivors banded together to see if they were okay. Many of them were injured, and our spider went around to help the other injured spiders. As she went around patching wounds she noticed her mother in the distance. It was a surprise to see that she was even alive, and it looked like she was barely hanging on.

Our spider went over to her mother and picked her up. She tried to cover up the wounds as much as possible, but too much blood had been lost. It seemed like there wasn't going to be much time for her left.

With our protagonist clearly upset about this, her mother tried to calm her down. Looking about, she noticed something shining on the ground. Picking up the blue crystal, she handed it to her daughter, expecting it to make her happier.

If spiders could cry, our protagonist would've flooded the cave.

The mother went unconscious, unable to see her daughter's angry scowl. Our protagonist spider took the small crystal and put it on her head. She stuck it onto her head with webs as a memento of her mother. Taking her brother was one thing, but taking her mother as well was unforgivable. As the other spiders went back to the nest she went in the opposite direction. Monsters like those didn't deserve to exist, and she was going to purge them.

This wasn't the end of a story, it was the beginning. But it wasn't going to have a happy ending for her.
