In the beginning, there was darkness. Then the author said, "Let there be light." And then there was light.
Okay, it wasn't actually a biblical event, but it might as well have been. As light peered into the dark space surrounding her, she poked the walls around her to reveal the world she now lived in. A beautiful cave full of colorful gems and shining stones awaited her. Just outside was her mother and father, celebrating this birth happily with her many brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles. Amazed at the new world around her, she slowly crawled out of her egg.
As she slowly adjusted to walking on eight hairy legs, her six red eyes could finally see her family in front of her. With fuzzy brown faces and a black abdomen area, these creatures and their faces looked nearly identical to each other to the human eye. But to the baby, these were the distinct and warm faces of the family that she was meeting for the first time. The circle of life moved on today, and now a spider was born.
This spider was a Large Cave Tarantula. Born at barely a foot tall, these bugs eventually grow up to the scary size of four feet tall in the wild (and six feet tall in captivity). They travel in groups, with the smallest of these family groups that were ever found being just around 20 spiders. Most adventurers would encounter groups of about 50-60 spiders, with one famous instance having a group of 135 spiders. It may seem excessive, but it is theorized large groups such as this help the spiders hunt large creatures deep in the caves like Cave Dragons and Sabrebacks.
The little hatchling waddled out clumsily, having to be caught by one of her grandparents so that she didn't fall. The porcelain white eggs next to her also started to hatch, releasing various brothers and sisters. All of the kids were supported by their relatives as they started to walk for the first time.
This spider looked at her siblings with wide eyes as she was nudged by her uncle. She realized he was pushing her towards a large slime corpse on the ground. The large number of babies munched through the body and finished it after about ten minutes. Despite being a large ball of slime with a radius of five spiders across, it was devoured in under five minutes.
After the meal, the spiders went on the move. They walked into a large mass of webs deeper within the cave. This mass of webs is known as the cave spider's nest. If you couldn't guess by the name it's a place where the newborns will be raised until they can fend for themselves. The babies and a few mothers stayed there as the others went out to hunt.

This is what our spider would've seen if she looked at her stats. If you were to say that a newborn is smarter than the self-proclaimed genius Scitus, you would be correct. These spiders are naturally born with slightly higher Speed and Intelligence stats than humans but are still considered too weak to go out on their own. For their own safety, they are given food within the confines of the nest.

For the most part, it continued like this each day. An entire week passes until they are introduced to something new. The group of spiders that went out to hunt came back with a few slimes for the children to eat. Slimes were an easy meal for the kids to swallow, so it wasn't unusual. What was strange was that the slimes, covered completely in webs, were still kicking and bustling in an attempt to escape.
Unfortunately for the little things, this isn't the type of story where they can be released into the wild. As a slime was tossed to the ground our little spider looked at it with her six eyes and bit into it. The slime struggled for a bit in her mouth until it finally went limp and died.

Level up!
Receiving her first level up, she continued to chomp through the slime. She didn't care about her new level and only cared about filling her stomach.
A few days went on as this continued. The young hatchlings were brought many more young slimes and soon were given more tough food to eat. Bats and Large Ants were tossed to them still alive and struggling as the spiders were sure to bite down and finish the kill. She was able to level up quite a bit here and get much stronger than before.
The hunting group left and yet again she was left to play within the cave. Some of her brothers threw rocks around and some of her sisters played rough with each other. She sat down and started to imagine. She imagined what the world outside was like. The only parts about it she remembered were bits of the cave around her from when she was born. She remembers dazzling lights shining around her, and walking on a hard and cold floor. It was definitely different from being on the warm and soft webs she was on each day.
Unfortunately, one of her little brothers didn't realize this and jumped right on her back.
You know that feeling when an annoying little brother wants to play with you and you just want to relax? That feeling when you're just sitting down and reading a book, but a little kid complaining they're bored makes sure you know it every second?
She tossed him away but he came back again. Again and again, he tried to get her to move. Technically she was only older by a few seconds but this behavior would make one believe that gap was much bigger.
Our spider would've continued to ignore it if it weren't for her getting hit in the face by a pebble the annoying spider threw at her.
Before she could give him a piece of her mind everything went silent. The hunting group had come back, and she was now to be a part of it.
