"Quite the beautiful day, isn't it Sanguisa?"
"It certainly is. The weather is quite nice, this lemonade your 'partner' made is quite tasty, and I get to hear the screams of dying adventurers as well. I don't think beautiful is even enough to describe it."
Indeed it was a great day for them. Calumnia made lemonade for Daemonium to bid him farewell as he went far away for a quest. She, like everyone else in the village, likely thought that this quest was to slay a dragon in a faraway country. However, for Daemonium it was just an excuse to see his people again and make sure they weren't going crazy without him.
This was an important mission. This could be the difference between the country living peacefully and it being taken over by a dictator who oppresses the citizens and leads them to ruin. So of course there was time to take a break and torment random adventurers with a bunch of zombies.
This was great entertainment and all, but in order to watch the two of them had to stay in the blight, which would constantly drain their HP. While Sanguisa could stay for a long while due to her great HP stat, Daemonium was getting dangerously close to death. So, with a heavy sigh and disappointed look, he walked out of the blight to heal himself while now only being able to hear the suffering and screams inside.
While this was disappointing for him, this trip would lead to a special encounter; one that would change his life forever.
Well technically any event can change his life forever, even if it's something as stubbing his toe thanks to the butterfly effect, but let's not think about the cliche wording for now.
"Stupid," Daemonium mumbled, upset at having to leave the blight. He sat next to a random tree in the forest; sitting criss-cross applesauce as pouting slightly as he leaned back on the tree. Or at least, he thought there was a tree there. It didn't feel as if he were leaning against the bark of a tree.
Looking back he saw that the tree didn't look like a normal tree. Trees in this world look like the trees in your world: big, brown, lots of leaves, impossibly tall, all of those things. But this one was neon green and looked as if it was made of gel.
"Sanguisa," Daemonium called out. "I've just found something amazing!"
"Really!?" Sanguisa ran out of the blight to see what it was.
"Look at this!" Daemonium pointed to the gel tree he had put his back to. "Isn't it amazing?"
"Y-yeah," Sanguisa said, her voice wavering and her mouth attempting to show a genuine smile and not the look of utter disappointment she'd normally make. "You know, I think I need to check the zombies for a bit. Bye!"
"Wait! What if it's a new species? Or a secret weapon? Or even better: actual gelatin!?"
Unfortunately for Daemonium, Sanguisa was already gone.
"Damn it," Daemonium said to himself. "Fine. If you don't think this tree is so cool then I'll look at it myself."
Daemonium stared at the tree in front of him. Giving it a few taps he was able to confirm that it wasn't metal and nothing was hidden inside. Giving it a lick he then confirmed that it wasn't gelatin. That could only mean that this tree had to be some sort of new species. This was mind-blowing to Daemonium. Not only could he have a species of trees named after him, but he would also have made a large impact in the scientific community. He could only imagine how much that would pay him.
Which would actually be absolutely fucking nothing. The scientific community doesn't work that way in this world, but Daemonium has absolutely no idea.
What Daemonium did know was that he couldn't just report that it was a new species. He should also report many observations, like its color, size, and other physical properties he has no idea about. He has to come back here with paper and pens to record all of this. But just in case he couldn't come back he figured it would probably be best to look at it as much as he can.
First off, color and size. Staring at it, it was easy to tell it was neon green. It was also quite reflective. It was quite a great mirror. Daemonium even transformed into various forms and was able to see his reflection perfectly each time. It was looking quite good... a bit too good.
Okay, he may have kissed his reflection on the tree while in the form of a hot and sexy succubus girl. And yes that action may have made him accidentally use his Lovely Kiss spell on it on reflex since he never actually kissed a girl. But I swear he isn't a pervert. He did this before.

"Daemonium majesty," a vampire maid said while walking by an open bathroom door. "What are you doing?"
"Main!" A naked woman with big boobs who was kissing her reflection in the bathroom mirror transformed into a naked and blushing king Daemonium Rex. "I-I-I w-was just, uuummm, AS YOUR KING I COMMAND YOU TO FORGET THIS INCIDENT!"
"Okay Daemonium majesty," Main said, walking away.
----------------------------------------
There's more where that came from.
Every week or so Daemonium would set aside some time to transform into something sexy and do things that weren't so family-friendly of him. You can't blame him though; he is an adolescent going through a period of sexual discovery during a time known as puberty. Besides, masturba-, I mean the m-word, is proven to be completely healthy and lead to some benefits.
With what has been going on for the past few weeks he hasn't had time to do it. And with his reflection right there it just seemed like he couldn't resist the urge to kiss it.
There are two things Daemonium learned from this.
First was that he would never survive No Nut November.
The second was that things weren't always the way they appeared.
Right after the kiss, the tree seemed to melt into a large green puddle. The puddle started to quickly reform, but instead of becoming a tree, it became a green, gooey version of the sexy succubus Daemonium was currently taking the form of. Stretching as if it was waking up, the green copy of the succubus that Daemonium was transformed into ran towards the half-demon and glomped him. Daemonium was confused, aroused, and most importantly in a position where he could lose his v card. And for those who are oblivious, no the v card is not an actual card.
Somehow Daemonium was able to resist his urges and push the gel copy off of him. He then turned back into his original form, completely naked because that's how transformation works. The gel creature looks confused for a moment before copying him and kneeling down with stars in its eyes. Daemonium then kneeled in front of it and stared.
Finally, Daemonium decided to speak up. "So," he said. "I'm Daemonium. What's your name?"
The gel didn't answer. It just looked at Daemonium passionately.
Daemonium thought about the situation. The creature in front of him looked like your standard slime. They would often attack their prey by dissolving it in the acids in its body and would eat anything, plants or animals, before hiding by seeping into the ground in order to sleep. They could morph their shape, but their shapeshifting abilities were akin to stretching and squeezing a small balloon. No species of slime he had heard of was able to transform into both a tree and another living being almost perfectly. The slime here had shapeshifting that was more akin to that of a mimic. Not only that, but most slimes were quite small; definitely smaller than this one. They never got big unless it was an attempt to combine and swallow up an adventurer just because. And after that, they'd just split apart again.
The likeliest option then may have been a half slime half mimic hybrid. Of course, that wasn't something that happened in the wild but the only other option would be a new species, and for whatever reason, he'd rather find a new species of trees than a new species of slime.
"So," Daemonium said as he continued to talk to a creature that couldn't talk back. "Do you understand me?"
It didn't respond.
"Nod if you want to say yes and shake your head if you want to say no."
It still didn't respond.
"Maybe you can tell me more about yourself. What's your name? Do you have one?"
It didn't respond.
Daemonium seemed stumped for a moment. Then a realization hit him.
"You fell in love with me because of the Lovely Kiss didn't you?"
The slime still didn't respond. However, the way it was staring at Daemonium dreamily for the past few moments seems to support Daemonium's claim.
"So you transformed into me because you admire me?"
No response.
"Well then," Daemonium said with a smug grin growing on his mouth. "I guess I have no choice but to have you follow us. What do you say?"
It says nothing.
"I'll take that as a yes. Since you are mine now, I'll call you Green Daemonium. What do you think?"
Name obtained: Green Daemonium
The slime, now named Green Daemonium, smiled.
"Okay then. Welcome to the team Green Daemonium."
