Have you watched Madoka Magica? If not I don't care, I'm using this analogy anyway. Remember how it looked when that one girl died? Remember the thing that practically bit her in half? That was practically how the snakes coming out of that one snake's mouth looked as they emerged in front of Stercus and Scitus. Long, snake-like creatures peered over the two kids with mouths full of teeth wide open and ready to eat them at that moment.
Luckily, before the scene became just as shocking as the one I recalled Veritas came in at an unbelievable speed, slashing those snakes with a glowing orange blade. After chopping those non-existent heads off he proceeded to stab the sword straight into the original snake they came out of, killing it in the process. Seemed like it was killed off as quickly as it appeared.
"Veritas," Scitus said. "You saved us!"
"Okay, tell me something I don't know," Veritas replied. "Like why you were this deep by yourselves? You could've been killed by the three-headed snake!"
"Three-headed snake?" Stercus looked at the teardrop-shaped creature that could barely be called a snake then looked back at Veritas. "That snake has one head."
"That's obvious moron," Veritas said. "People just used to call them that because they thought the two tongues looked like two extra heads and the name stuck."
"But that's still weird," Scitus said. "It's like a ladybug that's male; something like that just can't exist!"
All of the male ladybugs disliked that.
"Well sorry about that," Veritas said. "I guess reality just doesn't care about your feelings."
"Yo guys," Pan said as he, Diamond, and Diamond's familiars walked onto the scene.
"Feels like I walked onto some battlefield that was recently fought on," Diamond said as he noted the various bodies all over the floor.
Meanwhile, Green Diamond still tried to snuggle up to him but continued to fail to grab his attention.
"Well we did just kill a lot of monsters here," Stercus said, even if it was more accurate to say that he and one of Scitus's bottles killed them.
"Well great," Diamond replied. "Because it seems like there are more bats."
Indeed there were more bats. A lot more.
"Relax," Veritas said as he stepped forward. "This one's on me."
At his shoulders appeared around ten holy missiles each aimed at a particular bat. At once the missiles were quickly fired, impaling multiple bats in a row and killing them all.
"This is easy," Veritas yawned. "Why did you need me again?"
"Maybe because of the large group of three-headed snakes coming here," Diamond said, pointing at some of them approaching.
Twenty or so snakes slithered their way close to the group, but before getting any closer Veritas stepped right in the middle of them. He slammed his sword straight in the ground and caused a large pillar of light to engulf them all, practically vaporizing them.
"This is practically a child's game," Veritas said. "There's nothing hard here."
If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
"You're strong," Stercus said. "But there might be more."
Indeed there was more, and this one was dangerous. A fake knight stood there menacingly as if he was just taunting the god. Next to him was a dangerous half-slime who was clearly brainwashed by the knight, and would follow his orders to a tee. However, Veritas was able to quickly draw his sword and run straight over before the knight could blink in order to-
"WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!" Diamond somehow got Veritas to stop his attack. "What the hell are you hitting me for!?"
"A hideous liar like you isn't distinguishable from the rest of the monsters," Veritas said as he raised his sword.
"Hold on though," Diamond pleaded. "Can't you try and kill me sometime later?"
"Sorry, I'm the god of truth, not the god of patience."
"HOLD IT!" At that moment Krys stormed in with an aura that'd put high-level Super Saiyans to shame. "I WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO HARM HIM ANY LONGER!"
"First off," Veritas said. "How are you already out of the binds?"
"THEY SAY LOVE MAKES ONE STRONGER!"
"That's just a saying though! It isn't literal!"
"WELL, FACT IS STRANGER THAN FICTION BOY!"
Krys drew her bow, pointing a fire arrow straight at Veritas's head.
"Well whatevs," Veritas said, not really caring. "Come on, let's go."
"COME BACK HERE! I'LL MURDER YOU!"
"Yeah yeah, whatever."
Veritas just ran forward while Krys chased him, looking like kids chasing each other after one insulted the other. The others just shrugged their shoulders and followed.
----------------------------------------
The group went further and further into the cave. The only enemies they encountered were more slimes, those rock creatures, and bats. Veritas had mostly taken a backseat to allow the others to continue their grinding.
"Stercus, Scitus," Krys said as she called for the two. "Come pick up the items they dropped."
"Items?" Scitus looked around. "It's just a bunch of dead bodies."
"Dead bodies worth a million! Slime gel is used for lotions, shampoo, and similar products! Mega Bat poison is used for many drugs and medications! And don't get me started on the use of golem parts! Those on their own would fetch millions!"
"So I guess we should stop the slime guy from eating them all right?"
Indeed Green Diamond was picking up the various body parts and eating them. Well, the way it ate things was by having items dissolve inside its body, but Green Diamond was still eating them.
"Spit it out!" Krys tried her hardest to pull them out, but her hand simply bounced off Green Diamond's skin n matter how much she tried.
She then proceeded to cry over the money she lost.
"I thought you were the responsible one here," Veritas said, laying on his ass.
"Shut up," Krys replied. "You're just laying on your ass! Do something useful and find the rubiginous stone or something!"
"Okay then," Veritas said as he pointed many holy missiles at the cave wall. "Time to take it down!"
Veritas just went around blasting the walls in search of a rubiginous stone buried inside. Somehow he didn't cause a cave-in despite practically destroying the left side of the cave.
"Well then," Krys said, noticing what happened. "Now that he's out of the way let's just go pick up all of the items the monsters dropped."
"Too late," Diamond said, pointing to a full Green Diamond.
They say on that day Krys cried. Again.
