The shiny black boots loudly crunched against the dead leaves, their noise being the only thing that could be heard. Stepping into the green and purple swirl of fogs known colloquially as a blight, the masked assassin held his shotgun high like a hunter walking into the woods. Despite the formation being a result of a mass of zombies, the assassin couldn't seem to locate any zombies nearby. The zombies were much closer than he thought however, with all of them along with Sanguisa and Daemonium hiding in plain sight.
On top of the old and dead trees, Dead Daemonium, Sanguisa, and a few other zombies were perched out of the assassin's line of sight. Down on the ground, covered in leaves, the rest of the zombies and Fake Daemonium camouflaged with their surroundings. And right next to the trees, perfectly still, Daemonium and Green Daemonium were hiding. Green Daemonium took the shape of a small slime dripping on a branch, and Daemonium changed his color perfectly while making himself skinnier to make himself largely unrecognizable.
Daemonium stood as still as he could, completely unable to breathe. He stood anxiously, hoping and praying that the killer walking by didn't notice the tree covered with goosebumps, the tree that was slightly shivering with every breath, the tree that felt like he was going to piss his pants right there, and if you didn't get it already, HIM!
All they could do is hold their breaths and wait for the masked assassin to look past them. Paralyzed with fear, unable to do anything but hope, they waited for the current storm to pass. And while it felt like an eternity of waiting, they eventually got their wish. The assassin gave up and slowly walked out of the blight, allowing for everyone's held breaths to be released.
The zombies laid to the ground, absolutely exhausted from the danger they've been through. Many of them found themselves lying on the fluffy back of an equally exhausted Fake Daemonium, that fox wishing to never to do this again. Green Daemonium and Dead Daemonium went to hug the original Daemonium, having been genuinely scared for his life. If they could cry, they would've cried an ocean at that moment. Daemonium was practically in a daze from all of the shock, so much so he didn't care that he was completely nude at that moment. He was just glad to have escaped.
"That was too close for comfort." Sanguisa climbed down the tree and sighed, speaking in a whispery tone out of continued fear of the assassin's return. "Don't you have guards to protect you against this sort of thing?"
"Oh right, I did!" Daemonium stood up with shock, like he was suddenly woken up from a nap. "Unfortunately for me, I fired them."
"All of them?"
"All of them."
Sanguisa's face was the face a person would make if someone tried to convince them that 1 + 1 = apples and the sky was made of candy corn with complete seriousness: the face that tells you they're dealing with a cray person. "But why?"
"They were so annoying! Always following me everywhere and giving me no privacy! I couldn't even use the bathroom on my own! So I guess, in a fit of rage, I fired them all."
Sanguisa made a face as if she were dealing with someone even crazier, like not only did the person seriously believed that 1 + 1 = apples and the sky was made of candy corn, but also had the gall to say her favorite movie was anything short of a masterpiece.
Faced with such idocy, Sanguisa could only say one thing: "What the fuck?"
Daemonium was about to explain when he felt the cold barrel of a gun pressed against his face. His breathing stopped once again, knowing fully well that the assassin had come right back. In fact, it would probably be more accurate to say he never left. He simply waited for them to come right out of hiding.
"Umm..." Daemonium stuttered, attempting to push through his intense fear. "I-I-If I m-m-may be so inc-cl-clined to axe... I mean ask... why do you want to kill me?"
The assassin stayed silent, pushing his gun into Daemonium's face, and ready to pull the trigger.
Daemonium closed his eyes, ready to die. He just stood there, accepting fate, and preparing to meet his parents and older siblings on the other side, but it didn't happen. He certainly heard a bang, but he didn't feel anything and there didn't seem to be any blood. He opened his eyes to find that the gun wasn't there anymore. It had been smashed into the ground so hard that a crater even formed below it. And the one who smashed the gun into the ground was none other than Dead Daemonium.
Dead Daemonium didn't stop there, punching the assassin so hard he was blasted nearly a mile away. Daemonium never remembered them being that strong. Sanguisa never remembered them being that strong. Green Daemonium never remembered them being that strong. I never remembered them being that strong, and I'm sure many readers never remembered him being that strong either. So what's going on here?
First off, here are his stats:
General Info Stats Name: Dead Daemonium STR 86 Species: Zombie SPE 113 Age: 25days INT 53 HP: 155/155 DUR 56 Level: 26 Exp: 111,121/67,108,864 Spells Known: 0
A bit absurd if I say so myself. I mean, they were literally born less than a month ago, back in 2ne 2. So what is going on here? Well, in order to explain this zombie's newfound power, you have to go back to the Intermission: A Cool Fight Scene is Cool.
Stolen novel; please report.
In this chapter, spoiler alert, Daemonium's Daemonium harem was busy fighting Veritas, Veritas, and Veritas. Did I forget to mention that Veritas and Daemonium were there? But that's not the important part. The important part is Dead Daemonium.
While Green Daemonium and Fake Daemonium mostly used illusions in order to hide from their opponents, Dead Daemonium had to run. And with how fast Veritas was able to attack, Dead Daemonium had to push their body to the limit. The result:
Speed stat increased +1 by special action
Speed stat increased +1 by special action
Speed stat increased +1 by special action
And on and on and on and on. That doesn't explain the other stats however. Well, in the same chapter, Dead Daemonium kicked Veritas's head so hard that the scene may be considered disturbing imagery. Veritas's status as a god is questionable, but he is certainly quite powerful. So what is the result of killing him?

Yikes. That basically took up the entire screen. Probably not close to the experience an actual god would give, but it's still quite a lot. Dead Daemonium simply ignored it, because they are not able to read.
So it seems like secretly, this entire time, Dead Daemonium was the most powerful non god character in this story. He can beat up Pan, Stercus, and maybe even Goku. Right now that didn't matter much though, as the assassin survived the hit and ran right back in mere seconds.
Punching the ground so hard it was like an earthquake struck, the assassin swung and missed a large punch towards the surprised zombie. He hit then yet again with two more punches, Dead Daemonium barely dodging each one. Each strike seemed to carry the force of meteors, blowing everyone around them back from the air pressure. Dead Daemonium simply stood there unfazed from the pressure, simply returning with a volley of punches so fast it was like they were Star Platinum. The assassin put his arms in a cross and blocked them all, the ground breaking apart and trembling with every punch.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!?" Daemonium screamed with confusion, having no idea why any of this is even happening anymore. "SINCE WHEN WAS DEAD DAEMONIUM THIS STRONG!?"
Sanguisa simply shrugged, being blown away from the intense winds like a sheet of paper.
Daemonium was confused, but slapped his cheeks and got himself to focus. It wasn't the time for him to be in awe, he had to get away from this assassin somehow. Dead Daemonium was already in danger thanks to him, so he was going to be sure to make sure no one else was in danger. The blight seemed to have mostly been blown away, so that confirmed that the zombie army had either run away or was blasted far away. He certainly needed to find the twenty or so zombies, and he knew where Sanguisa and Dead Daemonium were, but where was Green Daemonium?
Floating in the winds, Green Daemonium drifted like a sheet of paper. It eventually stopped when it found itself in the ocean, where it was chased by killer sharks until it made it to shore. Finding itself on a deserted island, Green Daemonium was forced to live the restof its life there.
In many years the lone slime on the island gave birth to a great nation, respected far across the land. With a grand military, bustling economy, and Green Daemonium acting as a great monarch, the nation was certainly a powerful one...
...and that's what would've happened if Daemonium didn't happen to catch Green Daemonium as it was getting blasted away.
He grabbed the shorts he was wearing earlier and stuffed Green Daemonium inside to make sure it wasn't blasted away. Daemonium went down to the ground and stuck his hand into the thick and sturdy soil, gripping onto it so tight even the strongest winds couldn't blow him back. He crawled along the ground, forcing himself against the winds until he was able to grab onto the fur of Fake Daemonium. Climbing onto the back of that fox, he rode his large and furry friend like a horse into battle.
Meanwhile, the assassin and Dead Daemonium were trading blows like The World and Star Platinum in their fateful clash. Every blow was perfectly countered by another, and the two seemed to be around equally matched. The assassin was able to catch Dead Daemonium off guard however, surprising them with a kick below the belt. Dead Daemonium attempted to retaliate with a headbutt, only to find that the assassin has disappeared. He had used the strike in order to get away from the battle, and bring himself closer to his true target. In an instant he brought himself in front of the kitsune Fake Daemonium and the half demon Daemonium, his pistol pointed straight at Daemonium's skull. This time determined not to hesitate, he pulled the trigger and shot.
While at first it seemed like he had succeeded, the figures of Daemonium and Fake Daemonium grew hazy before disappearing. Having quickly realized that it was simply an illusion, he looked around to find the real original and fake Daemoniums in a distance. The only problem was that next to them was another pair, and another, and another. A few of them were in front of him, behind him, and everywhere around him. Illusory doubles of the two were everywhere he could lay his eyes on.
One would think of this as an impossible situation. With so many possible targets it would prove impossible to find the real Daemonium and get him killed. To the assassin though, the solution was quite simple. One would have to be quite fast and powerful to do this. It was a simple answer, one only possible to someone like him.
And that solution was to just kill them all.
