When faced with such an overwhelming force, in a situation that seems impossible, what would one normally do? For this mysterious assassin clad in all black, the answer was to shoot it. Deadly dragon? Shoot it! Horde of zombies? Shoot it! Depression? Shoot it! Please note that this fiction doesn't condone the use of guns so if you're going to shoot your depression, I guess you should use a slingshot or something.
So it certainly wasn't a surprise to see the assassin pull out two assault rifiles from seemingly nowhere and basically start shooting everything evrywhere. Well it was certainly a surprise for the Daemoniums and Sanguisa, who quickly ran for cover as they were assaulted by bullets. The illusions all around him were quickly dispersed, simply turning into brightly colored mists before fading from sight and memory. Some of them were able to quickly run forward and avoid the shots, and the real ones were slightly grazed but covered it up with illusions.
He wasn't going to stop there. The assassin got his pistols and ran to every individual illusory pair of Deamoniums, shooting them before moving on to the next one. Fake Daemonium tried to create replacements for all of them as each one died, but the assassin was far too fast for that fox. He was able to destroy two or three doubles by the time this fox made one. In seconds every double was completely removed from the area, leaving the area empty.
The assassin looked around the area, searching for the ones that got away. The actual original and fake Daemoniums had hid themselves behind a tree, shivering in terror as they hid from the killer. Dead Daemonium rushed down to kick the assassin yet again, but they were quickly blocked before getting punched high into the sky. Like Team Rocket, Dead Daemonium was blasting off again.
With the assassin patroling the area, and no Dead Daemonium to protect them, there was only one option for them now. Using the power of illusions to make themselves invisible, Daemonium and Fake Daemonium slowly crawled out of their hiding spot and into the open. Trying their best not to make a sound, the two moved quite slowly while trying to get as far away from the situation as possible.
The assassin wasn't going to give up that easily however. He walked slowly across the barren land, making little noise as he examined every rock and tree around every corner. As he looked he seemed to get closer and closer to the disguised Daemoniums, almost as if he was following their footsteps. With every step he got closer and closer, until his breath could be felt just inches away from Fake Daemonium's fur. He slowly got out his pistol, ready to shoot yet again.
"STOP!" After being forgotten for the entire chapter, Sanguisa came out of the bushes and yelled at the top of her lungs. The assassin stopped in his tracks, turning around to look at the vampire. "Don't you think we should talk things out first?"
The assassin tilted his head like a confused cat.
"You know," she continued, trying her best to continue what she was saying as much as possible. "I know that the dude is a horrible person, a terrible king, a compulsive liar and avid trickster, and his rulings have certainly led to thousands of lost jobs, horrible morale, many many many dead people, and what better kings may have considered a state of emergency, but can't you talk it out first?"
The assassin shook his head, before going back to what he was doing before.
"But I'm sure he'd listen to whatever request you had!" Sanguisa continued, trying to get as much of his attention as possible. "Why do you want to kill him so much? Did you lose your job?"
The dude shook his head.
"So is it some law you don't like that you want him to change? Did your paycheck go down because of him?"
Again, he shook his head.
"Don't tell me now, you lost a loved one because of him!? I'm so sorry, I'd make it up to you in anyway I could! I know! I'll give up my life to you."
The assassin shook his head furiously, having not lost any loved ones.
That's not how Sanguisa interpreted it though. "You don't need to refuse, I'm doing this because I want to. I know exactly how it feels to have someone close to you die, after all my parents were killed in front of me when I was just five. I don't want anyone to go through such pain again, so please accept my servitude."
The assassin slowly walked backwards, having no idea how he was supposed to react to the sudden reveal of a sad backstory that he wasn't expecting.
"Oh don't be shy, I'll do anything for you! Do you want me to make you food?"
The assassin furiously shook his head, unable to tell what was going on.
"Oh, I know! Maybe you want me to make you a bath!"
Again the assassin shook his head, slowly backing away more and more.
"Or... by any chance..." Sanguisa blushed furiously and squealed as she thought about it. "Do you want... me?"
The assassin used the moment to run as fast as possible, Sanguisa not noticing as she seemed to squirm like an excited little girl.

Of course, the quite embarrassing little show wasn't for nothing. During that conversation Fake Daemonium was able to prance away as fast as that fox could. One that fox's back was Daemonium, still nude if that was important, and huddling Green Daemonium who was wrapped up in his pants. With those three accounted for, the only Daemonium left was Dead Daemonium. They were finally located, crashing straight into the other Daemoniums as they fell from the sky.
Daemonium rubbed his head in pain, but he couldn't worry about this much longer. He had to find a place to hide, and was running out of ideas. He then looked in the distance and saw what he thought was a tree, but realized the trunk was quite wide compared to the trees in the area. Looking closer, it became obvious that he was looking at some sort of stone tower, so old that the original brick color was fading to a desaturated light brown and moss was growing on the sides. There was a metal door on the front, with seemingly no other way to look or climb inside. There were no windows, vents, or anything of the sort, so it was hard to see inside. Despite how old it was, it seemed to be an incredibly tall tower. It was so tall that one couldn't see the top no matter how much they looked.
A tower like that was the perfect place to hide in Daemonium's not so humble opinion. It was hard to notice from far away, and being so large likely meant there were many places to hide. And so he took himself and the Daemoniums and dragged them into the tower.
The room was dark, far too much for any of them to see even a foot in front of them. The only source of light was the open door that they just walked through, but as the four of them walked through it instantly slammed shut. While it did surprise him, Daemonium thought nothing about it. He was too worried and listening out for the assassin in case he came in. Fake Daemonium was too exhausted to care, and Green Daemonium didn't even know what was going on as it was still tied up with no sense of where it was or why it was there.
That left Dead Daemonium, who was certainly scared of the dark. They put their hands out and shivered in fear, wondering where everyone else could possibly be. Unfortunately for them they were just slightly too far to touch Fake Daemonium's fur, and was too scared to do anything. So they huddled to themselves down on the ground and sat there in fear, absolutely terrified. If zombies could cry... you get the idea.
And they stayed there for about an hour. Daemonium couldn't hear anything from the other side, not realizing that the walls were soundproof so he shouldn't be hearing anything anyways. Wondering if the coast was clear, Daemonium tried to push the door slightly open and sneak a peak outside. Put an emphasis on the word "tried" because he certainly and most definitely failed.
"Hey! Dead Daemonium!" As soon as he yelled he could hear what sounded like a ton of pots crashing into the ground, which was just Dead Daemonium nearly passing out from the shock of the sudden noise. "I think the door is locked, want to help us find the lights?"
Daemonium shook their head as rapidly as possible, most definitely not wanting to walk around in this much darkness.
Unfortunately, it was even too dark to see that. "Thanks," Daemonium said, clearly having no idea. "You're a lifesaver!"
Dead Daemonium definitely wanted to yell at him in that moment, but since they couldn't they just decided to look for the lights. They walked slowly with incredibly tiny baby steps, too terrified to look for anything.
"Found it yet!?" When Daemonium spoke, Dead Daemonium nearly leapt high enough to climb Mount Everest in a single bound. The ceiling was in the way after all, so they hit their head on it. The room basically shook as if an earthquake hit afterwards. "Are you okay?"
Dead Daemonium tried to put their thumb up to indicate everything was fine, but of course nothing was fine. Dead Daemonium's face looked like they were about to cry, but without the tears. Or the sobbing. Or the crying. But they were still sad.
"I see," Daemonium said, despite being completely blind in this darkness. "You do seem okay to me, so go for it!"
Dead Daemonium could kill a person with how angry they were at the moment. After all, how did he see the thumbs up but not see them cry or see them refuse to do this in the first place!? Did he even know what he was doing? Dead Daemonium got up and walked in a random direction, determined to end this as soon as possible. They didn't realize this, but that anger allowed them to power through their fear and march through the room in search for the lights.
And they found it after taking one step forward.
Dead Daemonium looked down to see that they stepped on a tile in the ground and pushed it down. Upon being pressed, strange symbols on it started to glow and provide at least a bit of light. Dead Daemonium pulled their foot away quickly, but the light on the tiles continued to glow. Glowing lines started to spread from the tile, spreading the light all over the floors, walls, and ceiling, with the contents of the room finally visible. And the room was basically empty. It was a large room, basically a football field wide, but with nothing in it. Well it did have a floor. And walls. And a ceiling. And a door. And there was another door in the distance, like the original but with a bright golden color. But other than those and the Daemoniums, there was nothing.
"Oh, you must've found the light switch," Daemonium said with a smile. "Thanks!"
Dead Daemonium was conflicted on whether to smile back or give him a middle finger.
"Now I can unlock the door and... oh." Daemonium looked back at where they entered, only to realize that the door didn't have a lock. It didn't even have a handle or doorknob, which it is weird how he didn't notice until now. "Do you guys know how to get out?"
"If you are listening to this you have probably realized that there is no way out."
Daemonium looked around for the source of the electronic sounding voice, yet no one else seemed to had entered the tower.
"Welcome," the voice said. "To the Tower of the Goddess."
