Chapter 34: A Mortal Questions a God

================================

The Akhenaton remained standing there and looking down at them like a God upon mortals.

Then, the ‘highness’ in the throne stood and hovered in midair whereas at the moment that he stood up and lost contact to the throne, the golden throne fell from the 30m height.

BOOM!! –it smashed the southern edge of the arena and a 10m large crater with crevices and cracks spread up to 25m around it.

Many were startled and many were aghast. If only at a height of 30m, that throne could create such a wreck of the arena, then if it was used as a weapon, wouldn’t it be on a really dreadful level?

And, unlike the two with their glittering aura of blue-gold and greenish blue, the ‘highness’ was just like a normal citizen without any kind of aura. However, to be able to use and manipulate something that heavy without effort… it only meant that he is really strong.

Hovering there, he looked around the silent arena.

Then he looked up, to the wall, seeming to have noticed the parting of a part of the spectating people in that side of the arena.

His gaze met a certain man’s gaze and they looked at each other for a moment before the man clasped his hands and nodded –or perhaps that was a light bow– at Siva.

Siva was startled but because he wore a robe and that he was hovering in midair where there was slight wind, it wasn’t visible in the slightest and so he gave the man a nod as he stared down.

With that action, he slowly hovered down until he reached the left edge of the crater, the two ministers standing behind him.

Not looking at the golden throne and only stretching a hand, this action seemed to intend that he was trying to summon it.

Given the prompt, Thorn secretly used his [magic] and the talisman of «Telekinesis» was used to lightly shake the throne and throw it lightly at Siva.

The throne flew towards Siva in a very fast pace and Thorn felt that his [slight] was actually still too strong at his standards.

But Siva didn’t budge and let the golden throne fly at his direction towards his outstretched right hand.

He didn’t look. He didn’t make a single move. But the throne flew in a speed as fast as his maximum speed with the Flight Armor. He only opened his palm and the throne smashed into it, but instead of him flying away, the golden throne was the one that made a sudden stop as it was reduced into countless golden ashes as soon as it made contact with his palm.

Not only that, there was also a flash of light akin to a lightning as the countless fragments of golden dust dissipated into thin air along with the appearance of a white mist that quickly scattered everywhere.

Following that was a swirling wind with the golden dust that centered on his outstretched hand.

Everything only took around three seconds as the third fourth second giving the silent audience a shock of their lifetime. Because when the golden dusts had completely dissipated and the white mist covered everyone’s gaze of the ‘highness’ slightly thinned out, there came the silhouette of something big looming behind the man.

–no.

It wasn’t behind the man. That big shadow is actually rested on his shoulders!

That silhouette was of a Warhammer, golden in color, and had divine crests that give off a feeling of ancient sacredness.

Because they were still shocked and surprised, no one even thought that this Warhammer was familiar to some degree –except perhaps the passengers of The Archangel, especially Cramer, who're watching this scene at the very moment.

“That’s my…!!”

While the audience was dazed with his overbearing entrance, Siva brought down the hammer that made a loud crashing sound beside the crater.

And only with the sound it made did the audience all begin to gasp and chase their breaths.

Many of them actually forgot how to breathe!

Siva then turned his gaze at the stupefied announcer who then, expertly, with his undyingly loud energetic voice, repeated his introduction.

[Ladies–and–Gentlemen... Black Light Curtain!!!]

As soon as Siva and the two heard this name, they all made the same sound that was, thankfully, wasn’t broadcasted by their Auricles.

“““Eh?”””

Siva couldn’t afford to look back to say anything and the two behind were also stunned.

But their brief moment of confusion was halted by the arrival of a pink-dressed maiden who wore a rainbow themed glittering armor from the side of the arena where The Valkyries’ supporters were seated.

Her arrival made all men turn their heads and even with that, her posture as well is able to make the two ‘ministers’ blush where they stood.

This woman was from the Maven Race with bluish black hair that had a white tinged on both sides of her temples. Her hairstyle emphasized those white strands of hair as she made a ribbon behind her back and left two small groups of hairs to fall at her face.

She jumped, didn’t fly, and landed directly at the side of her girls where the squad leader stood in a snap and greeted her in her arrival.

“Guild Master.”

“Relax, Alexa, I’m just here to greet the visitors.”

With her hand gesture, the squad leader, Alexa, bid her a light bow (or a nod), and then took a step to place herself behind her Guild Master.

“Guild Master, I think those guys are NPCs.” Alexa said and stared angrily at Siva. “And I hate the AI that was assigned to that NPC.”

The Guild Master chuckled as she stared at Siva. She felt that he was really strong.

“Come with me, let’s befriend them. This is the first time that an Immortal came down upon us. We must curry good impressions before those ladies over there get ahead of us.”

When her words were heard, not one of the girls changed their expressions as a hostile glare was sent to the side of the Nine Dragons Gate.

On that side as well, right at the same time that the Guild Master of the Valkyries arrived, in almost the same fashion as she came, the Guild Master of NDG landed upon his nine dragons.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

The Nine Dragons Gate squad leader had a soft look in his eyes as he glared at the glaring group of girls at their direction.

“GM… those brutes are planning something again.”

The Guild Master gave him a soft look and he hugged him, gave him a kiss in the forehead, and then patted his head. Like a little girl, the squad leader almost cried but with his GM’s actions, gave him strength.

He held his large sword and embraced it like a stuffed toy as well as the other eight as they did the same.

“Don’t you worry, Beki,” Said their Guild Master with a fist of confidence, “As long as I’m here, the federation will forever stand.”

These words boosted the confidence of the nine as they nodded with a look determination.

“With that said,” the GM added and looked at the two ministers with glittering affection. “Those two are really delicious!”

“I know right!”

Giggles and cheers came from their direction and the sight of these incredibly handsome men making girly remarks and acting like a girl-next-door while looking at Siva’s ministers were actually a rare sight to see.

“Enough with the dreaming, let’s get closer to them.”

“Right.”

On the other hand, on the side of the Ebony Sanctuary is the squad leader silently looking at the direction of Siva. His eyes were glaring like a dagger while he was gnashing his teeth in irritation.

Such provocation was unheard off and as the Top 2 Guild in the entire City of Warjillis, they had their own pride to maintain… even if they are up against a God amongst the NPCs.

And just as it did with the two Top 3 Guilds, a black whirlpool of unknown substance swirled behind their team a man holding a wrinkled black oakwood staff emerged and walked over to his members.

“Guild Master.” Greeted the man.

“Namur.”

“Master, I really don’t like that AI. It’s getting on my nerves. I will teach him a lesson!”

Seeing the angry look in his subordinate, the Guild Master of Ebony Sanctuary only shook his head as he gave Siva a look. It only took him one glance before he looked at his subordinate again.

“I heard what they said earlier. With how things are in Terroa, I believe that the descent of Immortals is connected to Siva’s Grand Quest. He was the first to unlock those secrets and with it are the changes that have been happening in Terroa. We must be the first one to grab the opportunities that they will bring with them today.”

The player called Namur only gritted his teeth. He’s a hot lava with ability that’s why he was valued greatly by the Guild Master. Aside from that, his GM knew that his impulsive and short-tempered nature will be his downfall someday so as much as possible, he was trying to moderate this temperament with constant warnings along with his presence.

Why were they even here?

–because there was info that three ‘rich-looking’ guys signed up for an arena match and even went so far as to sign up on the [Bet-class] type of arena match.

These are types of arena matches where there is no fees to be paid to the Hydra Guild who operated this coliseum and also gave the participants the ability to bet whatever they wanted their opponents to match.

Since they were the first to request the type of arena match, the guilds that are here right now are those who managed to get to the information first and sign up first in the matches.

Only 15 slots were available aside from the slot that was intended for the petitioner.

But now…

“The situation just had a drastic turn so we must pull this opportunity towards our favor.”

As the GM announced, Namur and the eight replied with a nod and so the GM led the team towards Siva.

The Night Locking Victory, the Big Bang Guild, as well as the other Teams’ respective higher up supporters all had the same idea.

Fifteen teams’ fifteen strong players in The North led their own squad towards Siva’s direction.

Seeing these many people, and thinking that they’re all players, simultaneously walk towards him wearing fawning faces –especially the NDG, Siva actually felt like smiling but couldn’t or frowning but can’t.

And so, his chosen reaction was to be still and just be as ‘royal’ as he could.

In the 200m wide circular arena, their part of this big place had a large crater serving like a marker. When the groups were 10m away from him, a loud booming sound of air being forcefully ripped apart came into their ears.

Siva looked up front beyond the crowd to see a group of five people fly towards them. In but a few seconds, they landed before the crowd of participants, led by the same man that Siva saw earlier, towing behind a group of the four said to be ‘one of the champions’ of their biannual tournaments, Crazy As Pinoy Team.

This was the City Lord of Warjillis named Ren.

When he arrived, he gave Siva a courteous light bow that Siva replied with an approving nod. The girl of the team looked at him while clicking his tongue while the man named Deb from earlier made eye contact with Siva.

When he did, Siva’s mind was pricked with a sense as if he had seen these three guys behind Ren before.

Searching through his memory, he immediately recalled his escape in Dragona right after the event.

He narrowed his eyes and understood immediately the man’s connection with him. But instead of alarm, Siva smiled instead. He could feel that he can use these things to his advantage.

Seeing that his eyes were sneering, Ren and Deb was hinted that perhaps he already knew. Or perhaps it’s the reason why he waited here instead of starting the battels already.

Ren stood straight and then spoke, “Welcome to my city, Lord Immortal. My name is Rentaw, the Lord of Warjillis and Guild Leader of the Warjillis Branch of the Hydra Society.”

Siva picked up on the hints on his gesture, tone, and his choice of words.

In his time in College as a rising star in both the sports and the academic world, he had experienced how to talk to politicians and as well as high-profile personalities so he immediately picked up on the hints that the man had, purposely or not, revealed.

First, Ren told him that they will proceed with the God façade. Second, he was introducing himself and his organization as the big wig in this city and also warning him that he knows his secret so he can’t try anything out of the ordinary. Lastly, his tone hinted that Ren had no ill intention and only wanted to cooperate with whatever his demands for doing all these were.

“The Hydra Society?” Volt on the left side spoke that attracted everyone’s attention.

Siva turned his head, seeming like a royalty, wanting some explanation on the matter.

It was Thorn who obliged, “Your Highness, it is one of the famous organizations of the mortal realm. From the South is the Blue Card Legion, the West is the Hydra Society and the Trailblazer Guild, the East is The Union, and the Central with the Wall of Jeremiah supported by the Grand Elders Council, and the Bright Light Sword Faction.”

“I heard that the strongest is something called Alcides Guild or something?” the King asked.

Everyone went silent hearing those words.

“Your Highness, the Alcides Guild is indeed a strong guild but they are an unaffiliated, free-roaming group that takes on jobs for a living. Apparently, there hasn’t been any real showdown between these so called strong groups so now they are only spoken to in terms of their origins.”

Siva nodded since he recognized those names. And as for the reason why The North doesn’t have an original organization on its own but is still full of these powers is because not only traveling on different cities very hard, every city, by the time these organizations had successfully become powers in their respective continents, have already been taken over by at least one of their advance forces in the north.

Understanding this, Siva gave a nod. Then, he looked at the group of Ren and the ‘locals’ in front of him.

“My name is…” Siva paused before saying his name to gather a momentum. “Donar.”

Donar. When they all heard this name, aside from the Hydra people, they all felt like they were being trampled by just his name.

Why not, this name is indeed the name of one of the Godfathers, if not the original, Godkings of the so called Chaos Gods.

Many quests and missions with very high difficulty have been denied ever since the game started.

Some of them contained info-texts that included the names that might be a key or is a historical word phrase of the quest/mission. Some radical hardcore players who had recorded these names had compiled their research into forum posts. Some forum sites gathered these posts and then compiled them into a free source catalogue where professional players, especially the kinds who would go into a player-centered place like The North, would find this information important and very helpful.

A few kind hearted honest players even paid up a portion of their income to the people who had provided these information.

Many names were mentioned and in some of them, players took careful attention to details that was connected to history and Gods.

Donar’s name was mentioned in some of them and every mission or quest that included his name were all high-risk high-level expeditions.

He, Donar, is an Elder God!

There are many names and many legends but in the game called RPG: Terroa, every Godly Legend had their own origins and in the origin of the Thunder God named Thor, there was his so called [Predecessor] with the name «Donar».

It can be said that Donar was one of the Elder Gods before the rise of the Chaos Gods that is now the center of Worship of the Terrans.

Even the still disputed origins of the Atlas Race who’s also a Chaos God named Aries is much like this.

These Elder Gods had a very vague origin and legends of their existences are but myths and are only poorly and even haphazardly described even in the Book of Legends.

However, their influence in the current timeframe and culture of the Terrans were evident in some very little but noticeable ways –with the biggest being the predecessors of the so called Chaos Gods.

So for an Elder God to appear here now, this event is on such a surprising degree that it was impossible to almost believe to be happening. In fact, of the teams here now, two had begun to back up, receding their intent to fight.

When he saw this, Siva almost regretted his decision to have ever come with that name.

In fact, he even began to doubt his mind again.

Who the heck is Donar?

The name just popped up in his memory when he saw the reflection of the flash of light when he unequipped the Flight Armor under his clothes during the process of receiving the Mjolnir earlier.

“Lord Donar.” Greeted Ren respectfully. “Please, let me be blunt because for an Immortal to descend upon this mortal plane is said to have been a taboo even in the God Realm. May I ask what important task have you got as to risk punishment for being here?”

Siva narrowed his eyes to this question. Assuming his identity as a God, to bluntly ask this question is but an insult to his divinity and was also a test of his mettle as the player named Siva.

He thought, how dare a mortal question me?

I’m a God for God’s sake!
