Chapter 273: The Grandest Mission in Terroa

================================

But then again, he recalled what he was told a bit earlier…

…that Rex had been tainted by Mefisto’s rage and had been somewhat corrupted by Mefisto’s last bit of memory.

Is that the reason why he’s been feeling those uncontrolled violent tendencies in the real world for the past three years?

Is that the reason why he was dreaming those images of seeing himself as if it was facing a black mirror?

Is that reflection in the mirror… Rex Kingsley and not himself?

Or was it just his own self telling him, warning him of the consequences of his violent tendencies?

Perhaps… perhaps his father just wanted to tell him to take his lessons seriously.

Right.

In the real world, his father is dead and as he was thinking about all these things happening in front of him right now, he couldn’t help but think the notions hidden on what his father had said.

That this world held the secrets to the evolution of the Human Race…

If so…

“Then to record one’s memories inside the game, it was only one proof of why Pegasus was aiming to monopolize the legacies in this world. Because if my parents can imprint their own ‘souls’ in this place, then it doesn’t mean that the reverse can’t be done as well…!!!”

It only meant that the value of this world is as his parents were saying they are…

“….that this world holds the secret to the Human Race’s evolution…”

He looked at his mother and was convinced that what he was looking at was her “clone” that shares the same “soul” as her real mother in the real world.

Because he can’t deny the fact that Ellie is dead and he saw it with his own eyes.

Ellie, asking if “she” was dead in the real world, is another matter, and the reason and answer as to why Siva felt this being weird is because it says a lot on the fact that she wasn’t aware it happened.

Someone told her about it and based on what the other side’s Janus had said, and what his dad said about the people “spying on him”, then these only implies more on the fact that… there is a chance that his parents… can be revived.

“Ah…!!”

Suddenly, a thought struck Siva.

Is it really possible to revive his parents?

Siva looked at Ellie with a slightly frightening idea of reviving a dead person.

“This world holds the secret to the Human Race’s evolution… does that mean that the Humans of this world are the ones dad was talking about? If they could implant their memories in this world so then perhaps the reverse is indeed possible as well… if I can find a way to implant mom and dad’s memories on an android, then with the help of NanoTech… I can even…”

Such crazy idea… his mind was spinning further and further into the thought that he didn’t notice Ellie was already staring at him with a raised brow of suspicion.

“Siva.” Her voice rung, calling him back to his feet.

“Mom…” Siva hesitated and paused for a bit before finding the courage to open up with the topic in his mind. “…I was thinking if… if that secret of this world you guys were talking about is regarding the evolution of the Human Race’s technology… perhaps?”

Ellie blinked and then she sighed and shook her head. “It’s not purely limited to that.”

TING!

Right after she spoke, a loud ring could be heard like a bell resounding in the white space. In the sky, there was a [Synchronization Complete] panel prompt that blinked with a bright green glow.

This scene interrupted her words and as well as Siva’s thoughts.

She stood up and held her son’s hand to help him up as well. She sighed and gripped on that hand so hard that Siva could feel the longing and unwillingness to part radiating from her tears and the strength she was exerting on her grip.

At that moment, Siva forgot everything else and only wanted to imprint this warmth on his memory.

He doesn’t want to forget that he met his mom and dad in this white space called the Genesis Chamber.

“Rex, no, Siva… dad and mom… are dead in the real world but we are alive in this place. Baron is also here… although he is safe, he is still in the same dire situation as you were back then. Please save your brother… don’t let them harm him. He is also still my son.”

Again with the distinction but Siva dismissed it. He and Baron were called her sons. He could just forget this clear distinction between Rex and Siva, or even between Ellie and Terra.

In fact he had an inkling thought that the thing that Ellie had done for Terra… was that they switched bodies and roles, where, in order to repay Terra from saving him back then, Terra requested to be the one to spend a life outside in the real world.

Perhaps was it because of Neth, his father?

Because back in the Cellar Dungeons, he clearly saw Neth and Terra back there like a couple.

“Dad has always been good looking, so does that mean…”

Along with that idea, Siva also recalled what had happened when his parents entered this place to pull him out. She said they lost their link to each other and also lost their memories, then noticed that the world they deemed to have created had changed in a large and dramatic way, after they were able to recall their memories.

When Ellie said that Baron was also technically her son, using the case above, does that mean that baron is Terra’s son?

This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.

Terra met his dad and fell in love, Terra knew that Rex used Siva as his avatar, then saved him, and in order to repay this debt, she requested to live a life in the real world to be with Neth.

But, why? To answer this question, Siva also recalled what his mom said, that Neth was injured because of him…

It frightened Siva when he thought about this.

And as much as that fear being felt in his chest and showed in his face for a moment, it was also suppressed by a sudden epiphany.

Because, perhaps, Neth died in Terroa in the War of the Braves and Terra chased him to fulfill her love for him…

Siva looked at his mother and realized just how this absurd thought was an impossibility. And yet, as impossible as it may seem, knowing his mother, it was still a plausible idea.

“Mom… did you perhaps… switched places with Terra?”

It was a wild question but Siva feared that it was the truth.

When she heard this question, Ellie teared up a bit more and weakly nodded.

“So that’s why you said Baron is technically also your son…” Siva chuckled. “So what?” he said with a wide beaming smile on his lips. “All things said and done, you guys are still my parents and Baron is still my brother. So even if you don’t tell me to save him, I will still save my brother, mom!”

Her tears flowing like river, she couldn’t say a word in because she was speechless.

She pressed her son’s cheeks with her shaking hands, feeling proud and overly emotional, as all the words she wanted to say had actually been confirmed and spoken by Siva without her needing to even utter a word.

“Our family… our family is still complete, son… we can still be together. Save your brother and I will take him in here and protect him from harm.”

A light filled Siva’s body and Siva knew that it was an automatic effect since him, being here, is but a chance brought by the Synchronization of his two world’s memories.

While the light in his body became brighter and brighter, Siva yelled one last question, “Mom, is it possible to remake your bodies with the technology of the Humans in this world?”

Surprised by the question, Ellie blinked but gave him a smile and a nod.

“Yes! Yes, it is possible… the two world’s technologies are technically and fundamentally the same…! Even their genetics technology is the same as well… but centuries more advanced!”

—meaning, the cloning technologies are also the same!

“Mom, one last question, is dad… my dad?”

Ellie chuckled, “Yes. He knew that the Neth that Terra fell in love with is a different Neth Kingsley so he also switched places with him.”

Siva, hearing this, felt that all the knots in his heart suddenly loosen as he let out a loud laughter that could fill the entire white space.

Tears in his eyes, he let himself be hugged and hugged his mother back tightly.

“I’m so glad! I’m so glad! I’m just so glad! Don’t worry mom… I will stake my all to save Baron no matter what. We will be reunited again!”

“I know you can do it…. I know you can…”

“Hihi~!! I love you, mom! Wait for my good news!”

“Mom loves you more, son! I will wait here.”

FLASH!

With a final burst of light, Siva’s body vanished on her embrace, leaving only the lingering smile of her son in her closed eyelids.

Ellie guided the specks of lights up towards the ceiling, and the blinking green light of the synchronization prompt absorbed that light and vanished entirely.

The empty ceiling looked dull. Ellie brushed her tear-filled face as she felt a warm hug embrace her from behind.

With the sound of the door clicking back to close, Neth Kingsley embraced his wife full of love and endearing emotions.

“He’ll be alright…” he comforted her. “He’ll be alright.”

“Mn.” She nodded then, after a moment, her beautiful face frowned and she turned around, pinching his arm hard that it hurt him.

“Awts! What was that for?!”

“Really? Siva… and Rex…?” she raised a brow.

“Guh.” Neth looked on another direction and used his right index to scratch his nose. “It was… only men would understand.”

“…”

“It was for the better that he knows earlier…”

“…”

“It was an accident…!!”

“…”

“I’m sorry it was my mistake. It slipped.”

“…”

“PLEASE FORGIVE ME~!!!”

**kneeling and hugging her leg**

“Haaah… you know just how much pressure he is going through right now. Slipping that up this early is too careless of you. Pegasus, UNICORN, The Union, and The Six Grand Families… all of them are looking at Rex as if he’s just a tool. They are all preparing on going through with their plans no matter what and our son doesn’t even have a single friend he can rely on back there. Have you at least traced back his IP?”

Neth weakly nodded, “It took a long time and a hard fought battle but I managed to arrange it for him… although… I saw something that alarmed me deeply.”

A trace of alarm flashed on Ellie’s face.

“What is it?”

“The other night, they snuck in and installed a box of NanoMechs on him while he was sleeping. And thankfully they did it during the time when he was agitated or Rex would have snapped and awaken out of schedule in the wrong side of the two worlds, and destroyed everything.”

Hearing this, Ellie buried her face and cried full of anguish and agony on Neth’s chest.

This was the kind of cry that was full of pain, the kind that she didn’t want Siva, or Rex, on that matter, to see.

Even Neth had tears flowing on his cheeks.

He can’t even be with his son as much as he wanted since because of Mefisto’s memory fragment that’s attached on Rex’s DNA signature, whenever he goes online in RPG: Terroa, he will always be subjected to Pegasus’ active scans.

If that scan so much as trace his signal to this Genesis Chamber, then everything they have been fighting for would have been lost.

“They are so cruel… why are they doing this to my son. Why does it have to be our sons…?! What did our family even do to them?! We were just living out normally and they just had to burn our home and even kill us! Waaaaaahahaha… My baby… Neth… our baby… our baby’s suffering!”

Ellie could only cry and let out her agony under her husband’s embrace. Their real bodies were dead; even though Baron is Terra’s and Neth Kingsley’s son, he was still technically their son and he is in a coma; and then their eldest son, Rex, cursed by Mefisto and was forced to sleep by Terra, so everything now rests on the shoulder of Siva, his avatar, to solve everything…

Such a cruel fate to a family…

Is this what they call that the cruel Heavens will be jealous of a family filled with geniuses?

If that is so, then the heavens really are too cruel.

Siva… shouldn’t even exist and is but an Avatar who had gained a personality through Rex, and yet, they have no choice but to rely on him.

…without ‘Siva’ being aware of it.

The two of them could only hug each other and trust that Siva will be successful on his mission.

“Let’s just pray that he succeeds.” Neth embraced the shaking and crying Ellie.

Even though him, being The Warden, is supposed to be the strongest and most invincible firewall in existence, his [authority] is only limited inside RPG: Terroa. He is Cardinal.

Thankfully though, the major powers of the real world had pissed Janus off.

Out of all the advanced AIs with personalities they had to piss off, they just had to mess with the God of Fates and Destiny, The Creator’s emotionless twin, Cold Janus.

“I’ve sent a gift to Siva through the mail so I just hope that he will be able to use it.” When he said this to Ellie, she raised her head and asked.

“Through the mail? Did you use the Golden Eye?”

“Yes. Don’t worry. I’ve destroyed that abominable project after making good use of it. No one and nothing can trace my mail now. Me and the Cold Man did a thorough job to make sure that Rex will receive it.”

“Hm! I trust Uncle. So what did you send him?”

“Eh? I sent him on a vacation to Hawaii.”

“…”

“Hehehe…” (**proud nose stretching**)

“Stupid. Stupid! STUPID!! Baka! BAKAAA!!! (>.

“God... I was just kidding!! Of course I sent him a custom made Communicator installed with my own version of The Warden. He’s still my boy, ya know!”

“….”

“Hmp. Fall in love with me a millionth time.”

“Hmp. Still a ba~~ka.”

“Ehehehe…”

In the real world….

A wave was spreading.

“Hey, how come my search results have become zero all of a sudden?”

“My files are gone!”

“Wha–?! Look, Siva’s face ain’t visible anymore!”

“What the heck?! Siva’s faces in the videos are all blurry!”

“Is this a meme or what? Is Siva always been this ugly looking?”

In just one night, every files regarding Siva’s face worldwide was either wiped out or either have been altered or blurred.

Back in the world of binary lines and black background, seated in an invisible chair, a panel and a mug of steaming blend in front of him, Cold Janus emotionlessly took a sip and then pressed a button on his keyboard panel.

“This is the furthest I can help you from here.” He murmured and then closed his eyes as if asleep.

From this point on, no one will know who Siva is.
