Chapter 33: So We Are Here
================================
Individuals who are quite strong are frowning as they too were feeling the change in their bodies slightly.
For some reason, none of them felt that this was like cheating because like how the Nine Dragons Gate, the Valkyries, and the Ebony Sanctuary did with their own entrances, theirs were layered with some kind of aerial drug that when inhaled can weaken their opponents at some minor degree.
It was the reason why they had to do all their might to drive out those lingering aftereffects left around by the previous ones when they made their entrances.
After all, nothing is against the rules if the rules can’t prove that it was cheating.
It was the same with this droning sound.
There was nothing to it except that it was really daunting when paired by Akhenaton’s massive size. It can even be explained that this sound is just a product of imagination as the giant figure’s eyes were like a God’s that when staring at them from above are like Divine Decrees stabbing to their minds.
It was all purely psychological!
That’s why… isn’t this what Grand Entrances are for?
As such, no one could complain to this effect. There’s just no explanation to this phenomena except that it was part of the frightening presence of this figure!
By now, everyone noticed that the landing point of the giant figure was outside the arena. Alas, the looming giant figure was really frightening as its shadow was cast down on the arena especially when it looked down at it.
50 meters to the ground, the giant figure stopped.
The droning sound stopped.
Everyone inside the arena was looking up.
All souls stopped breathing.
Everyone outside the arena were either going to its direction or they were looking at this direction.
Every soul in the city of Warjillis and even those who were on their TV screens, in Terroa Day Today, in their computers, in their communicator lines in the middle of a call conference, in all modes of devices that are capable of accessing the events that is now being streamed live in every channel in the world…
Perhaps every soul in the planet in Terroa and in the real world…
Everyone was silently watching, anticipating, who and what are the people behind this giant object?
And seemingly to answer their silent questions, the humanoid object suddenly moved.
“Waah!”
Many people, especially those inside the arena, became frightened when it abruptly made a move.
Akhenaton stooped down to look at them. They, the small existences in the arena, all felt their hairs stand on end as the giant face of Akhenaton actually stared at them with its expressionless gaze.
It knelt in one knee and the sound of its movement is akin to a thundering sound of massive metals scratching at each other without any kind of oil.
Just its face alone was almost enough to completely cover the entire stadium.
The speed and fluidity of its movement was also as natural as a real person and this action summoned a strong gust of wind that bore on the audience and even the participants down below.
Even the announcer became frightened as this large looming figure suddenly became just a chest visible to them while its giant face became so close that its monstrous size was heart-wrenchingly horrifying.
The expressionless face stopped with over 50 meters above the arena as if it was a impassively expressionless kid staring at an ant farm he received for his birthday present.
It was one thing for it be excited, at least one can imagine a very few possible endings but for such an emotionless face… it was calling forth unimaginable things to one’s imagination. And for a person, their own imagination is the worst kind of torture.
When it stopped looming, it stopped for a moment as if had already seen much of the ants before it started to gaze away from the arena, looking up, drawing out its other hand that didn’t held anything.
As if to add even more surprise and also a bit of confusion, the giant figure’s actions became visible to everyone of them.
With its hand moving the last, its eyes then closed as the hand were then raised to the heavens as if a beggar asking for some food.
“It’s bowing down?” asked the many who were the furthest from the giant person.
By its distance to the ground, the only place that is now darkened is the arena and the light of sol had long been since given back to the rest of Battle City.
As soon as this question was asked, a cold sensation like that of being in the south pole wearing only a T-Shirt fell from the sky like a shower of cold air.
Three bright and glowing heavenly existences slowly descended from thin air and the big audience felt a sensation of being in the presence of divine beings.
When the people saw who or what these three lights were, they couldn’t help but feel mixed emotions when staring at one of them.
A speck of irritation.
A bit of surprise.
A tinge of awe.
A pinch of fear.
And, perhaps, feelings of intense wonder…
Because those three glittering people that descended from the sky were dressed like they were royalties –no, perhaps the right word was pontifices.
On the right side was a white robed elegant-looking white masked priest with a golden tiara bridled with glittering red gems and green orbs that had a glitzy blue pearl in his forehead. He emits a bluish-gold aura in his body while he wore a kind and amiable smile and having his hands hidden in his robe.
His smile was as enigmatic as a courtly prince trying to be mysterious.
The person on the left was radiating a feeling of youthful vigor and curious nature. His hair was short but he also wore a white mask the same with the right ‘minister’ but while the [right] had a dignified princely presence, his was of a playful haired monk.
He had a set of purplish-red bead necklace in his neck and around his body were glittering greenish blue particles that created its own light around him, emphasizing more of his youthful presence.
His smile, however, was of humility and charm.
Many of the youthful female players and NPCs were drawn towards these two ministers, even some girls seated in the racks of seats on the Sisters of Valkyrie faction weren’t excepted.
But then, finally, the one in the middle…
This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.
He was the main source of all those mixed emotions that the people seeing him right now feel.
Why?
Because while all three of them seemed to wear the same set of priestly clothes but differ in their masks, he was the only one sitting–
.
.
.
.
–sitting lazily on a golden throne.
.
.
.
.
In fact, not only he looked like he was lazy, he actually even had the audacity to stoop affront as if asleep!
His throne was half a mater lower than the two men beside him but considering the level of the two’s feet and the size of this throne, the ‘king’ was actually elevated, making the two look like servants.
Looking at his appearance, there wasn’t much of a difference in their clothing and perhaps the only BIG difference is that while the two didn’t wear anything in their heads that resembled a hat, the man on the throne did and there were even side cloths on the side that covered his ears.
Or perhaps if adding those glittering gold lines on his white robe, he did exude an atmosphere of someone with either a high pontifical rank or possibly royalty.
Such imperious presence was the first for all to see.
When this throne and the two ‘ministers’ were thirty meters above the arena, they hovered into a stop as the people inside the arena became silent.
Even those watching on their devices wherever they are also became noiseless.
The two ministers looked around as if gaging up the mortals, their smiles never disappearing from their faces that made them even more noticeable.
When the all-girls guild Sisters of Valkyrie who sat in the audience’s racks saw these smiles, they all felt their hearts almost launch from their chests. Not only them but almost all the girls in the audience felt their hearts skipping beats looking at these two men’s mysteriously enigmatic but very attractive smiles.
The men, however, felt their hearts and egos crushed by this very moment.
Yet, they all –not one soul didn’t– thought that if the two men who acted as his protectors were already this handsome then perhaps the one seated in that throne who ignited some sort of complicated feelings in their chests were of a higher caliber than them.
Anticipation of this thought caused everyone to stay still and quiet. Even the sound of swallowing your own saliva would be treated as a grave crime!
Only those who tried to peek from the walls outside the arena all felt that this kind of entrance is just too domineering and abhorrently arrogant!
And yet, the silence proved that they had made their way into every soul in this place. The people outside the arena who climbed up the wall using their Flight Armors and Flight Wings are now gathering at a close proximity and density that one might even think the coliseum’s walls are being built using people as blocks at this moment.
Eyes were focused on the throne. Because of the black curtain of light the massive ‘man’ cast at the arena, the large arc lights only used for night events are now focused on the arena to light it up.
Because of these lamps, the shadow that covered the face of the stooping person in the throne became the reason why it gave him more of a dramatic feeling.
Ten seconds passed since they started to hover, the right ‘minister’ then whispered to the man.
Only with this action alone cause the hearts of everyone to stop beating.
As all eyes anticipated how “handsome” this guy was, they all held their breaths and waited for the greatest reveal in his secret.
And as soon as the last note of what he whispered ended, the man in the throne, then, snappily lifted his head––
CRAAAASH!
“Aaaah!”
“Wha–?!”
“Monster!”
“Demon!”
Girls screamed, kids cried, babies hushed, and many hearts almost permanently stopped when they saw ‘what’ this royal highness was.
Because contrary to their expectations, he wasn’t a handsome man nor has he got a godly presence, no, he had a black skin and a pair of red eyes!
In all aspects, he was a demon.
–just like the demon invaders.
Only, he still had that air of royalty. As soon as the people saw his eyes, the pleasant air of authority vanished into ashes and was replaced by a sinister feeling of an oppressively tyrannical sensation.
It felt like their hearts were clenching in the wrong direction as those red eyes felt like sucking their souls away from their bodies.
His skin was dark but there was still the white of the eyes. But when it came to his iris… they were of blood red color so contrast to anyone’s expectations.
The man only lifted his head and they were already in such a state of panic. And when he moved his head to look around them like a monster gazing at a caged prey, those who managed to stay their grounds from the initial shock totally collapsed and felt their souls leave their bodies.
And as if expected, the first to faint were the girls and those girls-at-heart and mind.
“So… we are here…”
That voice… that ghastly, inhuman voice that sounded like a call from the grave, echoed in the arena and they all felt as if some underworld God is talking directly at them.
“Your highness, as you requested. We are here to test the limits of our new found mortal bodies.”
“Is that so?”
The voice of the right minister was of a normal Terran and it was indeed a voice befitting of a charming man.
But the voice of the ‘highness’ that replied to him is really so frightening that it added more pressure to the ones who’re about to fight with him in the arena.
After his reply, the left ‘minister’ looked around once before stooping down to his ‘highness’ and then made a cheerful declaration.
“It seems that we are just in time, your highness. The ones in the room earlier are here and the puppets we sent to register have given us our opportunity.”
The only ones who understood the meaning behind these words were the ones on the same waiting room as them.
As it turns out, and seemingly the way these guys had just made their entrance from the sky and not from around the arena, those who are with them earlier were actually just puppets to register their name.
Red Metal on the audience gulped. “That guy earlier was just a puppet?!”
He felt his heart racing. With this kind of entrance, if he had continued to provoke them, then wouldn’t it be equivalent to sharing lame jokes with Hades?
With every lame joke he said, his death was assured!
The Night Locking Victory and Big Bang Guild could only exchange looks. They all felt that they were duped or something along the lines. They too had the same thoughts as Red Metal and his muscular gang.
“We came here to test the limits of our mortal bodies so let us make our small trip here enjoyable.”
These words were really too arrogant!
Every participant felt their blood boil just from these words alone. So it turns out that there was an event in this place and that these three are NPCs that came from another… place…
Although it was hard to believe, from the recent changes and events in Terroa, almost everyone had already noticed that Terroa is now facing something that included things that wasn’t there before.
Forums reported of Elemental Dragons being sighted appearing in many places, new ruins of cities with big secrets being unearthed one by one, new breeds of monsters have been terrorizing small towns and secret villages, quests and missions failing one after another because one or more important elements on their completion were either ruined by storms, or a force that was inexplicable.
These things have been happening around Terroa in a very fast pace and just over a little week ago, even, The Destroyer –Siva– had just unlocked a Grand Quest!
Such happenings were becoming a trend and they’re all changing the way and feel of RPG: Terroa.
In fact, there have even been reports that the pain absorption bar. Although still maxed out, have started to malfunction… like when before, being punched in the face inside the game doesn’t hurt, now, it was enough to make your face swell and ache.
Those are just one thing… and this, here, right now, is also another.
Who would have thought that there is yet another event in Terroa?
Mortal Bodies?
Doesn’t that mean that they’re all… Gods?

President Ethan smashed one of his beloved figurines on the wall opposite his desk and the sound of it had startled even the already used secretary outside.
“Fuck this! Another @#$%& had appeared!!! Chet. Chet! CHET! CHEEEETTT!! Caaaaaaaarrrrllll!!!”

.
The Akhenaton was one thing, but to actually say it bluntly that they are just here to ‘test’ their mortal bodies… wasn’t it a huge insult to them?
All of the participants are seething in anger. They all clenched their fists or ground their teeth.
From another side of the arena, the squad leader of the Sisters of Valkyrie only laughed lightly while she coquettishly covered her mouth with her hand. But this bit of a laugh, no matter how muffled, startled all the girls around her as if they heard a dragon smile.
Weren’t they all saying that because they are too strong and powerful in their divine bodies, they will battle them all on their limited strength?
And yet, despite all of this, when those who thought that this is just too much to look up to, they could almost instinctively realize an answer–
–an answer that tells them they weren’t lying.

.
“Your highness, these mortal bodies are borrowed, so we cannot unleash our full strength or else, we will dissipate and will be forcefully brought back to the God Realm by the limits of this Heaven.”
Siva looked at Volt with a dubious look in his eyes behind his mask.
Although his mouth was still covered, his eyes and his nose bridge were not. That’s why the audience was frightened when they saw his face earlier.
Siva and the two never settled on anything specific according to their agreed scenario so what Volt said just now wasn’t something actually planned.
And yet, the confident and cheerful smile on Volt’s face told him that he was serious. Siva glanced at Thorn on his right and he, too, had that look that they really were indeed enjoying this play.
“Geezer’s Mice! These guys…!!”
Apparently, the two of them had just raised their role playing to another level.
But what else can he do? Their voices were being amplified slightly by the Auricles hidden in their ears so everyone else heard what they’re saying because of their added silence.
He had no choice but to continue their RPG.
Shaking his head, Siva looked up and willed the Akhenaton to look at them.
This is one of the unique aspects of The Akhenaton.
Unlike other warships that needed people to be used, The Akhenaton only needed one person to bind it and then, just like Nano-Tech Weapons Technology, it can be controlled and willed by one’s mere thought.
It was also the reason why this is a legendary cursed item… because a single man can rule the world with this as his weapon.
The giant golden face looked at them and then came a pause where it then floated slowly above the arena until it was 500m high up.
Its crown’s enormous sphere cast a shadow 5km around the arena and everything around it had been rendered as if it was the dark of the night but without the stars.
Such an eerie feeling of the eternal night curse!
