Chapter 522: The End of The Legion

================================

“Do you guys have Battle-AIs?”

The two blinked but shook their heads. This was a lot easier if they have because Cortana could just give the security job to their Battle-AIs with a copy of a fragment of her Security Protocols.

“I will send you a security program. It will connect to my security company. I will also send two teams to protect your families like I promised.”

The two of them were glad, for some reason.

They could tell that Siva wasn’t actually a bad man in all respects. They don’t know each other and all their feuds started only inside the game…

…and yet, because he didn’t want them and their families befalling bad fates because of the wrath of their superiors, he was going to help them put a defensive line for their safeties.

“But of course, regarding their accommodations, I would have to trouble you to provide them. Can I count on you two on that regard?”

Since Zaza and Redeye were rich now that they can even buy a franchise business, it wasn’t hard arranging secret houses for their secret guards.

“It’s easy.” “Already done.” The two answered.

Siva felt that this problem was finished. So he pulls out his Player Panel and sent the program for these two. After checking that their identities and their addresses were right, the Echelon Network did the next phase of the security details.

When everything connected to the two’s family are fully infiltrated by Cortana’s bugs, the two of them became moths trapped in Siva’s flames, as well as his responsibilities and his subordinates.

He clapped his hands, “Well, although it was yet to be officially made, I, as the King of Asgard, am welcoming you both in my Kingdom.”

These words made the two of them astounded.

King! Siva, a [Player], was a [King] in Terroa! He was the first [Player] to be made King above all these powerful NPCs!

Holy mother of Megatron!!

This was news worthy of millions of credits!

—its name… was the Kingdom of Asgard.

Right now, these two caught in the fires of Siva’s real world issues —his secret war against Alfred Pegasus, the killer of Samantha, creator of the Universe System used by RPG: Terroa… and the true master of the Devil Gods— didn’t yet know the significance of this declaration.

Asgard, right now, is but a name known to a very select few… but in the future, it was one of the places that could decide the direction where the entire Terran Civilization went.

*****

Siva emerged a few minutes later.

In the end, Redeye and Zaza displayed modesty and only accepted Siva’s protection and nothing more. Their businesses and the rest of their lives will still be managed by them. Of course, no one else could know about the things they have talked about in that sealed space, not their spouses, not their best friends, not even their reflections in the mirror. Nothing and no one else.

Redeye is dead, for their allies’ reference, while Zaza was thrown in [Purgatory] where he was put to fight Zelga’s unit from Jeremiah as a disguise to make The Legion think that the ones attacking them weren’t the least bit related to Siva, but was actually the people from Jeremiah who were both fighting for the throne —Brea included.

What made Siva delightedly surprised is that when he killed Redeye in the dungeon prison, he got a shiny [Rune Armor] out of his corpse.

Zaza said it was part of their reason why they had to attack Alexandria back then. He then told Siva of the link between the attack in Alexandria and the reason why they have Rune Armors on them.

—it was about their [Providence Quest] that’s also connected to the King Test because of Altair; but most of all, to a person Siva was very familiar with.

Jack Stone.

It was after Siva became aware of it all that he had decided to think about it next time, despite all the raging emotions swirling up his chest.

Although their “play” might only be effective in a very short amount of time, it was still enough time to divert the attention away from what Siva was about to do later.

At this time, Cortana stepped out to inform him of something he himself did not expect.

[Boss, The Predator had made contact with Gaia.]

Siva wasn’t informed of it because Cortana judged that the business with Redeye and Zaza were of a more important matter.

But it doesn’t mean that The Predator meddling on his business was okay.

“What else? What about our operation’s status?”

[It’s a deadlock sir. The cleanup of the Blue Card Merchant Group has faced an unexpected hurdle in the form of the Haven Dust Company.]

“Them? Why? No… How?”

He was still unable to link up with Cortana’s scans real time and although their [Thought-Link] was a lot faster than any mode of communication, there is still an information overload problem between each successive Thought-Link and that the very amount of information that can be sent over to his brain wasn’t as big as well.

In other words, aside from being a faster mode of communicating non-important intel that didn’t have as much importance to the situation, it was used only strictly as a mode to inform him of danger or something urgently important according to his set parameters that she had long since implemented into her analysis protocols, or something casual, like the way they normal used it to.

As such, although the [Thought-Link] can deliver information bit by bit, and faster, it wasn’t to the point that it was omnipotently that useful... at least not yet. There are still the processes of telling the information a little bit at a given time that’s needed so that it can be filtered between useful and not, and thus all these short intervals between the data transferring, or the replies between their talks.

[They carried a Will of the Supreme Pontiff. The Haven Dust Company claimed half the credit and is now attacking the Merchant Group alongside our forces.]

“Romano?!! That bastard! How in the fuck did he get into this operation?”

As soon as he asked the question, Siva recalled that three chapters ago, the Haven Dust President entered a barrier-sealed space full of haughtiness and arrogance but exited with a heartrate raised to the levels of nervousness.

—it must be connected!

[Boss, Lady Gaia said that she does not require any assistance at the moment but said that if you wanted to secure the place and the resources of the Merchant Group, it’s better to be there on the grounds yourself because of your spatial ability.]

Siva understood Gaia’s concerns and nodded at the advice. “She may not need it, but I do. I don’t have time. I need to finish this job and allocate our forces to attack their base immediately. But these guys are making it hard to keep this operation a secret any longer! Tell her to collect all resources confiscated in one place. I will collect them when I come back later.”

The Legion was yet to learn that the person fully responsible in this attack was Siva but because the Theocracy had dipped its intrusive finger into this mess, there was a large chance that the spies of the Bloody Church will connect the dots to him faster because of the meeting back in Bardavon.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

—no!

——actually, they may already have!

It’s because of the 7,000+ traitors who supposed to have joined the forces from the Elf Forest who he had trapped in his Prison Realm. If they learnt of Siva’s operations, then there is a large chance that the Bloody Church’s higher ups are already aware of it as well now.

That is all the more he had to hurry the attack. He can collect the loot later.

Good thing Zaza ensured that they aren’t aware that Siva was the one behind it. They only reacted to the emergency call from the Merchant Group.

—good thing I didn’t kill him yet.

Siva knew that while Zaza was still alive, he could use them to monitor the situation in The Legion’s communication link.

But perhaps it was time for him to retire as well?

—I will have to change the plans a bit.

Siva ‘willed’ it and from [Purgatory], Zaza was then extracted, appearing in front of him while panting with heavy breaths.

“What just… oh!”

Siva didn’t waste time.

“I don’t want to explain. Zaza, Haven Dust had just attacked the Merchant Group carrying some Legal Documents to justify their actions. I think I don’t need to tell you that if you have to die, it’s best if you die in the grounds in the hands of the Haven Dust Company. Make a video call to your allies to ask for more help. Tell them that it was them that perpetrated this attack under the orders of an organization called The Theocracy. The Bloody Church will immediately know who they are once you told them this excuse and everything will fit in as you make your escape.”

Zaza was still confused and wanted to ask what the Theocracy is but he stopped and recalled that Siva didn’t have time to explain.

“But what about my Rune Armor? If I die, that will drop on the ground.”

The [Rune Armor] was special. It won’t go towards the Loot Inventory but will drop in the open air, free for all to pick up and use.

“Anyways, you dying gloriously in battle was just me trying to put it virtually. With the Rune Armor on, are you really going to die?”

“Probably.” Zaza shrugged and smiled, “The email I sent to The Legion says Redeye got swarmed as soon as he revealed his Rune Armor.”

Siva nodded, “Smart. But here. Use this. It’s called a Lightning Bomb. If you really have to die, then use this and it will let you destroy the place where you were at with an explosion 50m wide and will then teleport you back to Asgard. I made it so you can rest assured it will work. After you’ve escaped then you can retire with my butler’s help.”

A suicide explosion carrying enemies with him —a man’s romance! Zaza likes it.

Although he was skeptic with the instructions, he still nodded and wasted no time. “Alright.” he then firmly held his sword, not bothering to fix how he looked since the more haggard he is, the better.

“Okay. Off you go. Die gloriously for me!”

“Eh? What—”

WHOOSH!!!

Zaza appeared right in the middle of the defense zone close to the side where the Haven Dust was attacking and although he wobbled a bit from the disorientation of the teleportation; his appearance that looked as if he had just narrowly escaped a tight situation was enough proof that he was also doing his job of defending the Merchant Group on another direction.

Once he got his grip, he immediately made the call and dialed for Hagrid.

“You big ass piece of muscle… come here and help me defend the business!”

“Dead! These guys are freaking strong! They’re from the Theocracy and the King Candidates of Jeremiah are also working together with them! I just fucking escaped with my ass still burning!”

<%^#%$@#$%#! I’m on my way!>

“Contact the others! The more of you in here, the better! Hurry! I can’t hold on much longer!”

Zaza made it look as if he was going towards one of the enemies nearby before he ended the call.

If there’s one thing that Siva was surprisingly glad about what he just saw, then perhaps it was about Zaza’s acting. The short exchange and the short but precise and believable urgency was enough to even fool him if he was on his allies’ side.

—phew, here comes the glorious part…

Zaza breathed in and raised his sword, screamed in attack, and charged straight at the Haven Dust Company’s army alongside the defending force of their Merchant Group.

“Die you bastards!”

Many officers saw him but they didn’t question his timing or direction where he came from. The sight of his already ragged armor and wounded self is already a clear sign that he had been fighting a long time now. He probably came from another direction and cleaned the enemies from the other side of the territory.

*****

While no one was dying during in the battles after this entire time, the skirmish that arose within the Safe Zones still rendered people incapacitated if they are defeated above their limits. They will still remain lying in the floor, becoming obstacles, until one side became the winner and the other lost.

Those whose allies belong to the losing side will be labeled as prisoners while the winners will be brought to a safe place, kept out of any danger.

But the thing is, winner or loser, the bodies of the ‘fallen ones’ in this mess were disappearing at the moment they were defeated. It’s as if there was an unknown force in this battlefield that brought their, especially the Merchant Group’s side, allies to somewhere else not in here.

Of course, they couldn’t know that Siva can’t let a single soul of the Blue Card merchant Group get out of his grasps and so there are specific people he set to be encharged of safe-keeping their ally and also collected the ‘bodies’ of the enemies.

With Cortana’s modified Communicator Device to mark the ‘green’ from the ‘red’ and the Mini Realm Siva provided, this task was easily done.

So despite the chaotic mess of the battlefield, the task they purposefully set out to this entire time is carried out eventually.

That’s why Gaia said she didn’t need his help.

*****

Siva saw it all and sighed deeply. Zaza actually is good at acting and is smart. Better take note of it.

After that, he called for Hugo.

“There will be enemy reinforcements coming your way and there’re a lot of them. I won’t be fighting them since I’ll attack their main base. But I need you to be able to capture the leaders no matter what happens. Can you do that?”

“Are they strong?” Hugo asked. Of all the issues, this was what he was most concerned about.

In Terroa, aside from the Dragons, there was no other Mortal who could fight the Quasi-Immortals of the Inner Continent’s Terran Alliance head on.

“In numbers, yeah.” Siva said. “But don’t expect landslide superiority from their numbers. They are after all, just mere Mortals. If you’re careful, there won’t be anyone that can handle your people. Oh, if there’s someone, perhaps this man I’m marking for you now will be enough entertainment. He’s called [The Predator], they said he was strong but I haven’t actually seen him fight before.”

*****

“A little possibility is enough.” Hugo replied.

Cortana’s issued Comm Devices had an active Real@D rendering that anything inside the area of the Absolute Domain, once they are marked, will be visible in their visions in specified marking and blue, green, or red-lined x-ray visual effects.

On Hugo’s vision, 2km away, the location where Gaia was confronting someone, a red marking was projected like a beacon in the horizon and the labels indicated that his target and an ally, labeled as Gaia, was actually there.

“It seems he’s assaulting Gaia. Although she does not need help, her forte wasn’t a one on one fight so I’m going there now.”

{I’ll leave it to you.}

*****

After Siva informed Gaia, he turned into the far horizon and willed it. His Dindymene vanished in the air and they emerged 10km later. After that, just half a beat later, it vanished again and Siva, as its “pilot”, vanished along with it as well, emerging 10km from their location again, repeating this one move that crossed at least 20km every beat.

Perhaps in Terroa, aside from Gabriel, he has the record of the fastest man alive.

In under a minute, he reached the location that his coordinate’s marker had told him about. This was the location of The Legion’s main military base as Zaza and Redeye had pointed.

Just 5km away from Siva, there was a castle and it was seated in a floating rock, surrounded and also hidden by tall trees and landscapes.

[Scan complete, there are no threats present.]

Siva clicked his tongue. He was actually hoping that Kladis, no, Eros was there in the castle.

“List the names of the ones present according to the descriptions of Redeye and Zaza.”

[Personnel confirmed. Aside from the one named Kira, Mouse, Rhino, and Hijack, almost all of them are confirmed to be online.]

Gats was unconscious; Kladis is possessed by an AI, the Devil of Lust, Lord Eros; Kira is probably with Eros right now, having sex with him; Hagrid, Paris, and Rhino had just appeared in a square in Mundus and the Absolute Domain had already picked them out; Zaza and Redeye are retiring; Cedric is dead; Volga is also dead…

Since the Afro Samurai, Hijack, and Mouse, the Superstar, are out to attend this year’s Conclave in Lausanne, the only one left in this castle is the Enchantress named Genevieve.

Zaza said she was Carl Hanes’ lover in the real world, or at least, that’s what she wanted people to think she was to him.

Siva had met Carl Hanes in the real world and was assured that the guy wasn’t evil. But he do lack a little bit of spine despite his high-level technical capabilities. Perhaps that’s the reason why he was unable to clearly draw the picture with this girl?

If she was his girl, perhaps she was different from Gats and Kladis? Siva decided to check on her.

Storing away the Dindymene, Siva took a step and appeared right beside the defenseless woman.

He was invisible by four layers of Mini Realms.

With the Split Dimension, the applications of the IPU were just nigh-limitless!

A flip of his hand later, everything around her was gone and Genevieve, a severely hot woman with seductive curves having the distinctive hair color and strikingly attractive appearance of a Maven Race [Player], found herself standing in a place of endless surging and seething grey walls that had no end, boundary, nor edge in sight…

It was a scene that could put one into panic and endless fear right off the bat.

She was just seated on his chair and the next she knew, she was already in this ghastly place. Who won’t be afraid of it?

Her immediate reaction was to run away but she soon found out that she can’t move.

She was stuck in place and couldn’t even move as if she was in outer space. There was no gravity or anything here and worst of all, there was no signal in this place so she couldn’t call for help.

Genevieve was trapped!

Just as she decided to log out to escape from this place, she felt her body froze and she can’t move a finger, a muscle, not even turn her head.

She could only move her eyes, tears welling up and threatening to fall like a river. Fear embraced her heart, she was now truly and utterly afraid.

Out of the blue, this happened to her. If this was the real world, she would have died in fear but this is the game world and so she had this side-thought that someone or something was doing this and so this only made things worse. Because she also realized that because this is inside the game, it means unless she solved the problem here by herself, or someone saved her, she won’t be able to change her fate and therefore, since she can’t move a muscle in her body, she could only wait until something or someone changed her current situation. As such, she finally cried.
