Chapter 379: Asgard Reinforcements

================================

Siva knew that he had underestimated the wave of events that followed after he took the crystal.

If he let the demons attack even just one city, it will pose greater threat to Baron.

Because there was this frightening curse in life that’s called the “what if curse” and so to avert a worst case scenario, Siva knew he had to fight in this war with all his might.

This is an emergency.

“How is the progress of the missions in these last two days?”

“Only four people managed to bring a haul, sir.”

Akhenaton lowered his head as if ashamed of the results of his charge’s orders. Still, although he was more than capable enough to complete the mission of hoarding all the monsters of Oz Forest alone, Siva had given a command to not interfere with the players’ progress to promote their ability to handle hard situations themselves.

“Still, it’s only been two days since we’ve issued the missions. Perhaps they’re still in adjustment stage so let’s give it a bit more time. Well, if we consider that part as well, it’s surprising that it’s already having slight progress. For now, recall all units back to the Asgard. I have something to announce to the members.”

“I’ve sent the notifications to the members, sir.”

“Good.”

*****

The Arena…

“…it’s simple as that. Those who will follow me to the war will receive triple the points subjective to the amount of their contributions. Of course, that is, if you’re still alive. But those who will be here and defend the Asgard will get 1.5 of the points according to their contributions. So those who choose to come with me, get on the Gran Matador and the Sakura Vanguard immediately.”

After this announcement, the Warship “Gran Matador” cast its prism-shaped shadow above the open Arena.

Not too far away was a pink coloured warship in a shape of a squid —the Sakura Vanguard.

With one flash of light after another, those who chose to go to war in Jeremiah appeared next to the two warships’ top decks.

Of the 10,000+ members of The Company, 20% chose to join Siva with the war effort.

Gran Matador was the warship owned by Ebony Sanctuary installed with a Hyperdrive Function.

Aside from Marshal D’Catch’s [Black Mustache Flagship], the Nine Dragon Gate’s [Men Seeker Warship] and The Valkyries’ [Sakura Vanguard Warship], the Ebony Sanctuary’s [Gran Matador Warship] was also capable of it.

It was a standard Garuda-class warship 230m in size, with energy-based weapons capable of dishing out damage from medium range. It was in this range, twice the maximum distance of ballistic projectile artillery weapons like Bloody Mary cannons can deal, that are defense line specialized warships are better at. That’s why it was Siva’s first choice when thinking about the defense efforts.

Along with “Gran Matador” is a fleet of Cyclones and as well as the “Sakura Vanguard” as escort.

The Marshal and the rest’s fleets were charged to defend the Asgard and so with this last bit of preparation done, all that’s left is leaving the rest of the defense of Asgard to Thorn and his crew.

“You go there first and coordinate with Maki.” he told Volt and the three ladies. In this event, it’s clear that because of Thorn’s capabilities, he is Siva’s first choice to lead the defense in Asgard.

With a nod, Volt, Hawkeye, Samara, Agatha, and Cassiopeia grouped together on the side of the arena, waiting for Eleanor’s group to join them in the jump.

“Alice.” Siva called, “I will be strengthening her self-defense ability for the time being. Go with Volt as I will follow you guys with Mandy there.”

FlowerLord, of course, wasn’t okay with this. As much as possible, he wanted to always be with Scion but because of the situation, she couldn’t help but to agree since she was already briefed with what Siva was about to do with them.

“Hmp.” She snorted as she walked over to that side, followed by a quietly blushing Eleanor and four fully-armoured (still trembling) escorts.

One could only imagine the real purpose of the armours those four girls are wearing.

Supposedly, they still have five days to stay at the Twin Towers Hotel for the duration of their mission in Jeremiah but with Siva taking over 60% of their task workload and with the changes in the plans with Volt’s agreement to join the King Test this year, the rest of those days would be spent relaxing and being carefree in the city.

—until the alarm rung in Jeremiah, followed by a summoning message from the Guardian Deity of the Asgard.

It wasn’t even an obligatory task for them to go back to the Asgard but FlowerLord still came for she knew Scion would be there. Kathleen Brew only followed the scent of a NEWS scoop, with Cassiopeia’s and Niobe’s decisions being the fact that they wanted to see Siva. And so, with Cassiopeia returning back, Eleanor followed —only to be surprised by Gaia upon their return.

Volt’s crew vanished and who’re left there were Thorn and the TOS guild members without the large bulky guy, Cramer, who joined FlowerLord to the place with the most action.

Siva faced the fiery-dressed little witch, Coralline, and gave his orders. “I leave the Asgard to your care.”

“Hmp. Treating me like your servant.” She cross armed snorted and faced another direction, still standing atop her floating broom stick beside a stern and stolid-looking D’Catch. They seemed to have developed a good partnership in these past few days.

Scion approached her and hugged her like a real big sister, “Please protect this place. This is going to be Baron’s safe house in the future so we need it safe.”

The girl blushed and with her face buried on her (big sister’s) bosom, she nodded.

Scion propped her up and pinched her cheeks.

“You’re really cute!”

“…” she didn’t deny it but she glared at Siva, “I really wonder how you deserve her.” She stuck her tongue out and she and D’Catch vanished in the vicinity of the stage, aside from Heller and the three other acolytes.

“I’ll be joining the war effort.”

“Me too.”

“I as well.”

“My contributions aren’t even at a quarter yet.”

Diyers, Otus, and Pitou… the three background powers from the acolytes were also fighters and so they, along with Heller, boarded the Sakura Vanguard to help the defense in Jeremiah.

And so, just before they all teleported to the city in the middle of the continent, Siva sent them a message through the video call.

“If you die during the defense, don’t use your Insurance Policies to resurrect. I will teach you how to get a Unique Ability.”

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

This was his catch and everyone became alive with eagerness in their faces.

With a flash of light, the warships above them all vanished with the view of D’Catch’s fleet and the defense formations of the Cyclones flying to and fro could be seen not too far away, with the distinct image of a golden giant hovering above the castle… giving everyone’s hearts a unique kind of feeling of security and confidence.

Having also given their missions and tasks, the rest of the players in the arena disappeared with a flash of light, leaving Siva, Scion, Gaia, and the butler Akhenaton.

“You two will be bathing on blood.”

The words made Scion jolt and Siva and the two girls vanished to reappear next in the special warehouse area where only Siva had access to.

With a flick of his hand, the large globe with the still beating heart of a Dragon inside appeared in the space above them.

“Undress and it will only take 10 minutes.”

Scion blushed deep red while Gaia begun to take off her clothes. Siva remained standing firm although his mind was already running 300% of its usual processing ability, trying to remember every detail of the two’s bodies.

“Hentai!” Scion growled and a spell incased him in place along with the feeling of burning skin.

Siva’s view was blocked by ice and by the time the burning ice spell thawed, Scion and Gaia are already inside the globe, bathing in blood with their noses protected by a film of Mana.

—damn it.

Cortana: […]

Of course, although Scion seemed to hate it, she was actually happy deep inside for finding out that Siva was a normal boy who lusted over her body. It was part of her mission and also her inner wish as his girl.

Oh, and of course Siva could have just made it so that they undress on their private rooms and only teleport them inside the Nano-Cryo Preserver when they’re ready.

But because he was already a ‘changed man’ who remembered who he really is, why wouldn’t he eat the buffet when he can?

It’s not as if it’s a sin to watch Gaia get naked in front of him and his girlfriend… is it?

Cortana: […]

It’s wrong to waste food.

Truly, it’s wrong!

*****

With a flash of light, Siva reappeared in front of a very large building that has a 4.2km-size in an empty side of his floating continent.

In here were the NPCs from the night before he had tasked to slowly extract the resources of the 4km-large body of the Dragon.

The thing that must be taken note of, however, is the fact that all of these NPCs were working only in a single sealed part of the giant body of the dragon while the rest of the body was being frozen by the cryo-elements he’d received as a donation in an open and legal manner.

He met the old man who was also managing an orphanage he tasked as the team leader.

“How is it?” Siva’s voice surprised the old man but when he saw Siva, he couldn’t help but bow his head and almost kiss the ground realizing his identity.

“My Lord,” he gratifyingly spoke up, having had Akhenaton’s manners education. “This is really a marvelous… a profoundly exquisite creature! It was only its tail part we’ve just barely touched, but we’ve already excavated so much resource that it’s already comparable to all of my work in all of these years!”

Siva nodded appreciatively at the old man. He could see that despite his old age, he was really enthusiastically working his old bones hard for this chance to dissect a dragon.

But then, Siva remembered his worries and so told the old man, “Master, you must hasten the process of getting the necessary resources for I can only delay the decaying process of the body and wouldn’t be able to prolong it longer than a month. By that time, at least you should’ve been able to excavate at least the external resources of the dragon.”

“Aye, My Lord. But as much as I wanted to make haste with our work, we’re really short of people with enough skill standards in a high-requisite job such as this one. If you can add people to our working force, then that would be a help.”

Siva nodded and flipped his left hand over.

With a fluctuation of space, the BMA and twelve puppets —the rest of the same armors that he made Scarlet Carmine wore— appeared in front of the old man.

Gesturing to the tall BMA, Siva told him, “Until I recover these, you can give your instructions to this guy here and it will do nigh-impossible jobs that your men can’t do. Also…”

With another flip of his hand, Lily appeared with her adorable appearance and size, blinking like an innocent girl at them.

‘Cortana.’

With Siva’s prompt, Lily’s eyes closed and when she opened them again, it now had an intelligent glow on them. Cortana had temporarily taken its body and functionality controls —one of Lily’s secret utilities.

“This is Lily she will watch you work and will also learn from you. After a while, you can give your orders to her and she will control the puppets to increase your work efficiency. Until then, I’ll be searching for more people to your team.”

The old man was really grateful and he bowed his head with so much fervor. “Thank you very much, My Lord.”

“Mn. Just keep on working hard.” Siva said and then looked at Cortana, mentally giving her his orders: ‘I leave it to you.’

[Yes, My Lord.]

“…”

(---_---#

Siva was becoming more and more speechless with Cortana’s increasingly grey sense of fun.

—where the heck is she learning it from?

Well, through the [Comms Link] primary function of the Signal Tower in Apus Epirus, there wasn’t actually a need to give further orders to Cortana since she can just read his worries then adjust her functionality to cater a solution for him within the nearest 100km radius from the castle.

Through Siva’s [Orbiter Bracelet], Cortana can give her orders through the Signal Towers in the castle and this Signal Tower will connect to Lily, which Lily will then transmit the instructions to the BMA and the puppets.

Before leaving, Siva went to the storage area and picked up all the harvested resources.

So, with everything checked in here, Siva left in a flash of light, appearing next to the Barns. It was an entire district-sized area dedicated for all the harvested live monster games.

In here, Akhenaton-Butler appeared next to him to wait silently like a real manservant. Just who’d think that this guy used to be an Emperor of a big and powerful nation?

Siva stared at the four tied up monsters that kept on roaring and snarling angrily at each other and to Siva.

“Two C-Rank, one B-Rank, and one A-Rank…”

Siva was murmuring with appreciation, especially to the person who delivered the one A-Ranked monster in front of him.

He turned to the side, “Are you sure they really hunted this monster alone?”

“Yes, My Lord. There were others who tried to trick me so per your instructions I kicked them all out of the Asgard regardless of their reason, and left them with a warning and an ultimatum while keeping their hauls on another Barn.”

“How many are there?”

“Including these four, there are a total of nine.”

Siva nodded in satisfaction. “Nod bad.”

Akhenaton may have lost his powers as a great and almighty Immortal, but he’s still an Immortal in essence so watching over a land of merely 200km-wide up until the city of Aarun is child’s play to him.

He can clearly see and monitor the 100km area around the Asgard now that it has already been confirmed to function as a real fortress city.

It cannot be reversed but there’re obvious pros in making it fully function as a fortress city.

One of which was the increase in its defensive capabilities, and as well as boost Akhenaton’s ability to function as its guardian deity.

One other function is also the fact that after Siva had confirmed it as a fortress city, it also has the potential to function as a nation of its own. So in this context, Asgard has the right and function to be confirmed as a “Starting City” —with a big difference from the rest being Siva having the right to reject who can enter in his city.

This was the biggest gain to establishing his very own country… Asgard.

Siva nodded, “Very good. I only need the strong ones that can prove their own strength with their own hands. I will give generous rewards to the ones who can prove their strength and ability but I will treat those who can’t with their due and proper compensation.”

“It’s a pleasure to serve you, My Lord.”

“Mn.” Siva nodded appreciatively, then he faced the monsters in this Barn, “Now then. Let’s see how far you can evolve in this experiment. Bring the rest of the monsters here.”

Given the command, five other monsters; three A-Ranked and two B-Ranked —making the total monsters in the Barn as four A-ranked, three B-ranked, and two C-ranked monsters.

Siva didn’t waste time and started with the first stages of the contract ceremony.

‘I wonder if this experiment will bear fruit…’

As an Immortal, Siva had never diverted in the path of a battlefield-monger so he paid little to these kinds of things and only focused on his own personal strength. But now is different.

‘To get more power and strength in any form as much as I can, I’m willing to do anything and am even willing to waste my life to save Baron…’

His drive to pursue all kinds and forms of power that can boost his strength whether it’s internally and even externally, one way or another, Siva is willing to pay all kinds of price and even stoop as low as he can just to achieve this goal.

To contract as many monster as he can was the reason why he needed the monsters alive!

‘With so much dragon blood and dragon flesh as a resource, I don’t believe I can’t at least create a dragonkin to at least a single one of them!’

Dragonkin!

—a subspecies of Dragons that was in between the Lesser Dragons (the lowest kind of Dragon) and the Monsters who inherited or had achieved the utmost minimum of evolution criterion to get the chance to evolve into a Dragon!

‘In my past life, I’ve heard many instances where a wandering monster chanced upon a dragon’s corpse and ate its flesh and evolved into a real Dragon. If those stories are true, then I can only do this little experiment and hope to achieve it.’

The contract ceremony, or slavery ritual, or just whatever you call it in any part of Terroa… is an act of landing on a mutual agreement between a monster and an Apollo Race member.

It was dependent on the [CHA] (charm) or the [CHAR] (charisma, the evolve form) Stat.

Of course, those with [Charisma] tend to be able to create contracts to a higher kind of existence.

With Siva’s own [Charisma] being five more times greater than the average Joe, it was fairly easy to ‘enslave’ an A-Ranked Monster.

He even forced Little Blacky when he was yet to reach such height in his stats, to say nothing of when he had currently been physically improved to a high degree.

As such, it didn’t take long before he had gotten these four monsters’ blood contracts.

“Well then…”
