Chapter 27: I Will Protect
================================
PULLINGTHE GIANT sword, the blade vanished in the coffin's other end and the 1.5meter assembly of the hilt and guard rested on her shoulders.
The pentagon seal she broke was healed and a smile beamed out of Six.
"You will not escape here!"
Siva and Samantha ignored him and he looked around on things that he can use. When his eyes rested on the chaos of the battle that broke out and destroyed the city, buildings and brick houses revealed one crucial fact.
Oh, no...
This wasn't a city!
Now that he saw it, it was more like a town rather than a city. They're not even in a square as commonly seen in Walled Cities. They were in a town and further into the gaps between the small huts and brick houses were green fields.
Throughout the entire area, Siva realized this.
—Holy shit! Are we in a village?!
As much as it's hard to believe, there was just no time to entertain that shocking revelation. They had to get out of here. Fast.
He pointed his gaze on their captors and through their still not moving formation, he recalled the words 'seal' that Six had declared. He smiled. Conceited bastards tend to have that kind of weakness of announcing their full intention to their enemies.
And as his eyes naturally dragged to the sword stabbed in the ground... Siva told her.
"We have to get out of here."
"But how?"
"I will trust you with my abilities. You will be the one getting us out of here." From those words, her face formed a puzzled a look.
Siva swiped the air, manipulated his player window, and after a few moments... TING!
[You received items!]
A message prompt appeared on her vision.
Samantha scrolled down on the window and checked on the items that she received. There was a weapon, a Talisman, a MOD, and three accessories. All of them is enough to make her surprised.
But of all the items that she received, the most visible or perhaps the most valuable of them was this one.

"But this..."
"What you're going to do is throw that weapon towards Six and when it hit the barrier, use «Transcendence» and destroy the wall using your large-ass weapon."
"It's «Doom Blade» for you! Hmp. I wish that attitude was the one you had forgotten."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing! So how do you plan to escape after the wall barrier is destroyed? Just so you know, Six and his men are A-ranked monster hunters. They aren't newbies."
Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.
"I know. Judging on how you move earlier, I trust you are using Flight Armor while fighting so after the wall is breached, fly away to the south. But if you can, then at least take out the other guys. «Transcendence» is an ability that will boost your physical capabilities trice."
Samantha pulled his sleeve down. "What about you?"
"I need to defeat Six."
"What the... what for? We could just escape here!"
Instead of a direct reply, Siva shot her a pleading look. But to his utter disappointment, he forgot that he was in the black skin state and so he summoned another skull mask from his inventory to hide his (invisible) embarrassment.
"I-I need that sealing ability. I must get it no matter what. It's important that I obtain it."
But there is less than 30% of succeeding on looting its Talisman.
It wasn't that Siva had become greedy. It's just that all this time, one reason why he actually designed Dragunov is for it be able to stun targets. But instead, what he discovered was the «Raijin». What he wanted, he saw in the possession of Six.
He had read about this sealing ability once in a book in the library before.
«Five Sacred Seal of the Pentagon»
Available only as a reward to Wizards with titles only, from a C-rank quest from the Circle of Magi.
Very rare magic but very special too.
A five sided AOE sealing magic ability that can STUN targets that makes contact with the barrier's interior. It may not be as much useful for players who knows of it, but it's certainly a useful magic ability against mobs, especially to those affected by The Killing Zone.
Like other AOE magic abilities, it consumes Manna for every second it's used. But unlike how it can ideally be used, Six and his men's mistake is that their intent was to trap them until Mefisto arrive so there was no kind of aggression thrown at them inside.
And since they know of the magic's capabilities, its over all usefulness was halved. Also, since Six and his crew aren't aware of his ability set, and since there are two of them inside, he was positive that his plotted plan for escape will work.
It's not that this situation will ever change the fact that he was looking for Baron. So as much as possible, for every trouble he receives, he must yield rewards that is of use to him and his cause, directly or indirectly.
"Have you been hurting, Rex?"
Siva looked at her eyes as he felt the hands that held his sleeve trembled. She bowed her head for a moment but when she raised them, a certain sparkle in her eyes was evident that made his heart skip a beat.
He looked at the direction of the barrier wall and into the sword stabbed in the ground beside her.
"We have to get our of here." He insisted.
"Just answer me!" Tears came from her eyes and it fell on her trembling hands that held his sleeve. When Siva didn't reply, she continued to speak her words thru her shaking voice. "I knew it... not only he almost killed you, he even erased your memory and barred you. He's so cruel..."
Barred me? Erased my memory? These questions had somewhat haunted his subconsciousness. As Samantha began to cry profusely, Siva's own heart ran in turmoil.
But as much as Siva wanted to ask her all the questions he had been saving, he just had no time left to lose so Siva held her hand with his in a gentle touch.
"We have to get out of here." He repeated in a voice layered by solidity and resolve.
Seemingly understanding the message he wanted to imply, Samantha nodded at him and wiped her tears using her own sleeve.
"Yes."
After the confirmation of their resolve, Siva took out his Guns and went on to explain the plan he had in his mind.
"I am cursed by an S-ranked Mission and I can't use any magic because of it. So I need you to do everything that I will tell you in order to get out. Can you do that?"
SNIFF "I can."
"Okay. The first thing you have to do is to embed the MOD I gave you in any of your equipped weapons and then junction all of it, including the accessories I gave you, to the Telekinesis ability. You should be able to see «Polar Mastery» as a result of the junction."
While Siva was talking, he was carefully watching their captors' movements outside the barrier wall.
He was doing his best to cover their conversation in the mask of plainly glaring. As he had already covered his face with his skull mask, he maximized the advantage.
Samantha knew it too so she rode in. She did what was told and when she finished, she gave Siva the nod.
"Good."
Then he summoned Dragunov under his white cloak. A flash came under his cloak but it was covered by his white poncho's thick fabric. The only person who saw the short burst of light was her. But at the sight of the pitch black Dragon material, Samantha couldn't hold in her surprise.
Siva ignored her gasp and he checked the surroundings.
When he confirmed that the battle was still raging on and their captors were still unmoving, perhaps keeping tabs on their Manna, Siva continued to explain.
"Unlike the normal Telekinesis, «Polar Mastery» will give you the advantage of choosing your targets and switch over them as long as your Manna can hold it. In normal circumstances, «Polar Mastery» can only affect people and inanimate objects but what normal players don't know is that the basis of the Telekinesis ability is «everything» in its area of effect."
"...! You don't mean..."
"Using the «Deva's Path» effect of Polar Mastery, you can throw in weapons and boulders on the target that you chose. And you can repeat this as long as the item you threw is inside the AOE and your Manna pool is big enough to hold the object."
Again, Samantha held her breath.
"Adding this Legendary MOD's effect of triple stats, I can't imagine any people who would be strong enough against you in combat."
Siva met her curious eyes and looked back up front as he knew that the red glass of his skeleton mask is not going to be of help to his explanation.
"The only thing it can't control is Sound, Light, and the Wind. Aside from that, the bigger its AOE, the greater the Manna you need to have. My stat build does not focus on Manna and I can only use it for a few seconds before I ran out of juice."
"But... I get it. I understand what you want to happen."
Siva smiled beneath his mask as he glanced down at her on his arm. Seeing her resolution, he remembered the dream he had in the Hotel Room floor and almost fell on a daze.
Why now? He scolded himself and shook his head. To dispel the worried look on her face, Siva pulled the twin guns holstered on his thighs.
"The only person who can do this is you." he told her.
At the prompt, Samantha stretched out her hand in the front and her large weapon, the «Doom Blade», stabbed in the ground shook and came back to her hands in a single snap.
With a wide smile, confidence clung tightly on her face as her expression betrayed effort to hide it.
Six saw this and from outside the barrier's AOE, he gave out blurry audible commands. At the next second, the barrier walls intensified in color and the Manna barrier became more crystal-like that the dome shape is deliberately been seen.
Samantha poised to throw her sword and she glanced at Siva who stood there casually with guns in his hands.
—He looks calm.
A pang of hurt pinched her heart. His kind soul who didn't know how to hurt someone had been digitally and forcefully altered in just a single night.
Samantha didn't want to tell him the secret that she had managed to hide along with her life that day.
That secret... once known to the world will destroy it.
"Ready?" Siva's calm voice echoed and she nodded.
Siva lowered his center of gravity. In a single moment, the bulky arm and shin guards vanished and the thin arms inside the white cloak returned with his hands.
—that secret...
A dark aura escaped his shoulders and she bit her lips trying to endure the repulsive sensation in the skin.
"Begin."
—I will keep it with me until I die...
Samantha screamed as she threw the sword. She rushed to follow as the sword's metal blade stabbed the barrier wall. And as the orange aura began to ooze out of her body, she roared again and cried for war.
—no one must know that dad unknowingly succeeded.
So I will protect Rex... even if I have to die again.
