Chapter 487: Two Very Simple Tasks
================================
Many were shocked by his indifference. Just what is this Siva thinking? Is he really going to incur the ire of an entire country… and not just any country but Jeremiah —the strongest country in terms of their military strength— at that?
What more, not only Jeremiah, but it would seem that Siva was actually also planning to clash with a superpower conglomerate country as The Union.
Thinking about it, wasn’t Siva also enemies with the Blue Card Legion?
What else…
Oh yeah, didn’t he also trick the residents of the Walled City of Warjillis, the Battle City? He tricked them all of their equipment, also kidnapping and then taking hostage the three largest guilds in it to be absorbed into their company?
When everyone thought of this, they only now just realize that Siva had long since been numbed in the threats these superpowers could bring on him so why adding one or two more matter?
No one knows how powerful this “Company” of his was but according to rumours, they were a big secret organization of Pioneers who vends many kinds of expensive equipment underground in a tight network of random and personal meetings.
If a [Regional Manager] such as Siva was already this strong and blatantly fearless, what more could this so called “Underground Company” is exactly?
Longyun and Tabata were caught in surprise.
Will Siva really clash with them right now, knowing that there are warships in this place?
He can’t escape since teleporting doesn’t work in this city right now so they could only fly manually to this place… along with all these forces.
“Siva!” Longyun cried out. “We don’t want to hurt you! Just surrender now to avoid all unnecessary sacrifices!”
Siva laughed loudly and his shoulders shook as his body trembled. This laughter was full of mock and disdain that Siva didn’t even bother hiding.
“You really thought of yourself so highly. Did you think that I was afraid of you? You’re just one of the secular organizations of this world… what gave you the right to talk so high and mighty in front of me?”
Secular what of this world?
Are you still thinking yourself a God or something, or is your brain not working well?
Everyone was startled by Siva’s sudden speech.
When Siva spoke to this point, there was a sound of crackling electricity 55m away, followed by the blinding flash of light and the disappearance of all the sounds around them. There was a billowing of the wind shattering the rocks and bodies of those in the vicinity of the blue smoke domain. It only left behind a mist of burnt marks and orange trails.
In the instant that followed, a blinding explosion and a loud bang resounded in the consciousness of those in the farther distance as the land shook and trembled with a large burnt hole appearing, as Siva was at its very fore.
Everyone panicked and reacted later as they jump or ran away, but the aftermath of the explosion is already over and the bodies of the dead lay in the ground, covered by the dust clouds and lingering orange fires of lightning with two King Candidates nowhere to be seen.
Siva... remained there standing and in front of him was a 400+ meter crater of destruction, with the area of effect of the explosion covering over 700 meters where dead people, body parts, and many debris now falling here and there.
In an instant around 30,000 people just suddenly vanished. How could The Union have anticipated that Siva would actually not submit to them?
How could they have known that he would actually kill two King Candidates of Jeremiah?
Siva didn’t even blink and did not, in the slightest, hesitated in making enemies of these two giants of Terroa.
The blue smoke earlier was already a sign but no one expected Siva would actually kill them.
When the smoke subsided and the shock sunk in to their hearts, Siva shouted: “HOW DARE YOU!”
The three words reverberated like a tidal wave, a cacophony of gasping sounds rung as they heard his billowing cry —both on their screens and their toes here, in Maria, in person.
He then looked up to those scattered warships of The Union and spoke, “Not everyone is afraid of you, not everyone can be trampled by your feet. I am not someone who will be intimidated by your slandering…!” Siva pointed a finger at them. “So I will declare this today to all of you who wanted to frame me for a crime I did not commit: YOU WILL BE JUDGED BY MY WRATH!”
Siva’s words rung in the air full of rage and anger that in the next instant he vanished.
No one else felt that he was just boasting.
A second passed by and someone screamed. A thudding sound of a body falling resounded and it was followed by a cry of surprise before there was another sound of echoing gasp and metallic weapons clashing.
Then the sounds emerged faster than they could think, explosions after explosions rung, Siva was moving around the battlefield leaving Lightning Flash Bombs 55m away while trashing everyone who happened to be close to him.
It was pure chaos.
The warships above couldn’t shoot their cannons as their allies were there with no one being able to lock on target.
Many tried to flee as they can’t lock on Siva. Not only they became useless floating chunk of metal, the warships themselves became a prison for the people on the ground.
Dark red blades flew and slaughtered freely…
…and the scene was broadcasted live in Terroa.
Siva’s words and billowing cry of rage rung in the hearts of the audience…
YOU WILL BE JUDGED BY MY WRATH!!
Those who thought that they could trap a lion in a cage called “intimidation” soon found out that Siva wasn’t someone who was shackled by the sense of fear generated by the giant names of Jeremiah and The Union.
To him, they were nothing more than names. Who can stop him were only those that stood on the same pedestal of personal power like him.
Just who could receive his wrath?
A select eccentric few——
—but the price to pay was greater than the gains.
*****
CRASH!!
While the screen showed a replay of the scenes in the Walled City of Maria, this became the first time that the Seventh Elder of the Union Council had actually flipped out in anger and smashed an important piece of artifact in his office in Terroa.
The subject of his fury: the two idiots in the room who had just been kicked out of the game and is now calling from their houses through a Real@D video feed.
“I can’t believe you’ve actually let these scenes be broadcasted in Jeremiah… you almost ruined our plans for the throne!”
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
<…> <…>
The two didn’t say anything.
Longyun was the Seventh Elder’s son while the other, Tabata, was his nephew. These two were cousins and they grew up together like brothers.
Both knew the exact angles of one another’s guts, partners in crime, and so no one blamed the other for their mistakes for they had agreed initially that this plan was in accordance to their orders: use Siva to increase in rank in the King Test and also make him submit to the control of The Union.
It was simple enough.
They used the name of The Union to ‘scare’ Siva while also cornering him with the threat that these two mega-countries will make him their enemy if he does not comply with their demand.
Everything was going fine; they used the citizens of Jeremiah against Siva, turned his rescue feat in the defense of Jeremiah back then into a crime, and then push him into bankruptcy by blaming him for the deaths of many ‘people’ in Alexandria and in Maria in the recent events —all so that they can coerce Siva into accepting that only The Union is capable of protecting him and his interests.
Everything was going alright according to the plan but who would have thought that the cornered mice would bite back at them?
Not only Siva ignored everything they said, he did even berate them and exploded out in fury while also declaring it all as slander.
What more, he killed everyone in the scene then brought down 10 warships —alone— looted them in the open, and then piled up his victims’ bodies into a mountain before disappearing.
His final words and actions meant one thing.
I declare war to those who oppose me!
And what’s making the Seventh Elder even more furious is the fact that although the two’s rankings in the King Tests were still the same, the fact that they threw away the ‘face’ of The Union still put a stain on their majestic pride.
This affected their plans a little but the rest of The Union Council Elders’ trust to the King Candidates was already shaken by this blunder.
That’s what’s making him angry.
It affects everything. It affects his plans.
The Seventh Elder shot the two a scorching gaze but his handsome face only looked more dignified the more he frowned at them. It was like he was a King and he was glaring at his stupid subjects.
He was a man of many principles and beliefs and it was a source of pride. One such belief just so happens to connect with his ‘subjects’ and him. If the subordinate is stupid, this reflects to the liege.
And this is the source of his rage. He felt that not only did Siva insulted him and The Union, but also that these two had thrown his face and pride.
“Stupid fucks!”
Longyun, his prided son, clenched his fists tightly while looking down. He knew his father the most; he was a perfectionist and he rarely ever seen his father commits any open mistakes. And even he does make them they aren’t as irreversible to his overall plans as his recent blunder. He could only grit his teeth and blame all these to Siva.
He was the reason why his father hates him now.
Siva must pay.
Gathering all his courage, he lifted his head and looked at the Seventh Elder, declaring, “I’ll make it right, father! Let me hunt Siva down!”
Tabata looked on with surprise but didn’t say a word to add in. he was just too afraid of his uncle.
“Hunt him down?” the Elder shot him a glare, “And where do you think you can find him?”
Longyun hissed, “I may not be able to find him but I can find the people close to him. I can kidnap all of them to pinpoint his location! We might even get a chance to find him in the real world!”
The Elder and Tabata looked on but weren’t really surprised by the suggestion.
They’re a wealthy family. Every family, when they rose into a financial behemoth like they did, does not have a clean background. They have done at least one or two criminal misdeeds. The business world is a jungle and if you aren’t prepared to eat the bigger preys, you will be the one to be eaten alive instead.
Hypocrites would cry out in protest but the fact is if they haven’t done those things under the nose of the authority, their family would have been the ones to fall under the fires of that kind of war.
As such, when he suggested it, the other two in the room didn’t react and cry out in loud protest.
Still, the Seventh Elder stood straight and walked over at him, “And then what?” he said, hissing.
Longyun paused, and then puffed his chest out.
“Then we punish him. Publicly.”
Instead of smiling at his brilliance, the Seventh Elder only frowned even more.
“Let me ask you, would that help fix the current situation we are in right now?”
He blinked, opened his mouth to reply but closed it again, unable to properly word it.
Right. Even if they do find Siva, the damage has been done and kidnapping his friends would only put them lower than dirt, not to mention it worsens the already deteriorating situation. It also proved that their thinking was as shallow as any street rat.
“And that’s why you’re stupid.” He growled, “Not only kidnapping his friends poses a lot of holes to lead to us, as soon as they went missing and we demand for Siva’s name to them, you immediately tick the cops to get on our tails. How many people in the world do you think are waiting for the tiniest of slip up on our side, huh? Think before opening your mouth so you wouldn’t sound stupid.”
The Seventh Elder hit the table as sat down on the sofa. He then sighed, “There’s nothing better to do right now than to stay silent and try to use whatever gains we have achieved in Jeremiah.”
Longyun remained standing, looking despondent as he lowered his head.
“You and Tabata should go back to Jeremiah the soonest you can. Mend all damages. Stabilize the position in the rankings. Let me handle the rest of the Elders in the Seats as we’re still considered a whole body, I will just pay for the damages this time but I don’t want anything like this happening ever again. Do you understand?”
“Yes father.” “Yes uncle.”
“Good. Then take this chance to prepare yourself in attending the conclave. Establish contact with a few promising youths. This, you can do without any hitch, yes?”
““We will.””
After the two confirmed, they logged out of the video call and the time in Terroa accelerated once again. As soon as it did, though, a knock came on the door and a woman entered.
The frowning Seventh Elder smiled widely, “So, it seems that you have some important information for me since you waited until I finished my call.”
The woman that entered was a blonde chick. Her avatar wasn’t that seductive in terms visually but a presence of allure was naturally coming from her.
She was Kira.
“I brought you a piece of news and also a simple task, can you do it?”
The Seventh Elder’s brows rose, “I have a feeling that this isn’t a simple task. If your boss, that so called Heavenly Father, is asking for The Union’s help then it means it would always involve some nasty enemies. Tell me, who is the target?”
“Siva.”
The Elder’s smile waned. “Go on. I’m listening.”
“I just heard that you got trashed in Maria. Are you thinking of getting revenge on him or using this as a bargaining chip to make him follow your Union?”
The Seventh Elder chuckled, “You can say that it’s both and also more of the first reason.” then he leaned back on the couch and said, “Since you already made the trip here, I don’t think you’d go back with a failed business so why don’t you just spill the beans so I can think about it, hm?”
Kira sat down elegantly in front of him, the slits of her long silk gown showing her legs as she sat in there with an obvious allure.
“I have intel for you that can help in putting a little leash on Siva’s neck… as well as, of course, incurring his absolute ire that he’d go on instant rampage, storming your headquarters here in your beloved City of Dakar. In exchange, we want you to do two very simple tasks…”
The Seventh Elder scrutinized the girl, his bluish green eyes hiding the age behind it.
Kira then shifted her legs, obviously seducing the man as she showed what was hidden between her legs… nothing.
“So?”
The Seventh Elder laughed loudly, stood up, and sat beside the girl.
“At least tell me the tasks you have in mind. If it’s not within the power of The Union to accomplish, the intel you’re going to pay for just might not be enough.”
As he spoke, he slowly put his finger on her legs, slowly trailing Kira’s thigh until it stopped above her left chest where he circled the areola around her little peak. Kira came here prepared for business and so, of course, she only had this gown on and nothing else underneath.
“The first is to kidnap Thorn and give him to us and the second is to kill Siva at all cost.”
The man paused his movements and stared at the girl for a few moments then asked, “That’s kind of not within the agenda of The Union, dear, since we still need Siva for a specific purpose.”
“Do you need his firepower against the NPCs, or do you need him to destroy the game balance for The Union to bring down RPG: Terroa’s status in the market?”
The Seventh Elder laughed and pated the girl’s thigh, saying, “I get the feeling that your Heavenly Father of a boss is someone with eyes and ears even inside The Union. I can’t say that I’m happy about it but I can’t also say that what you said isn’t true at the very least. We are indeed just waiting for the tiniest of opening to infiltrate the tightly closed market of RPG: Terroa. If your Intel can do what you said it will, then you can have my utmost sincerest thanks.”
Kira moaned and playfully traced a circle on the man’s chest and said, “Hmmm… Mister Elder, the thing about a trade is that it has to be a fair deal or the business is off, no? I can also assure you that once you hear the intel I want to share to you, not only would you get all your chances to ruin RPG: Terroa’s popularity, you will also get the chance to accomplish all your goals as well as complete our little request. It’s a win-win deal, no? Plus… if you agree within the next hour, you can also have me as a bonus prize.”
The elder stayed silent, thinking, letting Kira play with her finger circling on his chest. In the real world, he was a middle aged man with a large frame but here in the game, he was a handsome Elf and his stamina wasn’t bad at all… while all of the enjoyments of life here are as wonderful as it feels in the real world.
No losses for getting a bonus prize as Kira. After all, this wasn’t their first transaction and he knew how incredible the techniques of this woman are.
If her intel could be used to threaten Siva and put a leash on his rampage in Terroa; even when he does go on a rampage and destroy a few things inside the game thereby affecting many players and NPCs, it will also affect its popularity and, in so doing, in effect, upset Panorama’s hold on the game’s stock market worth.
—Even if it’s just for a tiny bit.
If it does happen, an opening may present itself and thus give The Union a chance to infiltrate the closed market of RPG: Terroa.
This seems indeed an actually beneficial deal.
