Chapter 313: The World Hates Him
================================
“Boss, 60% of our Energy Pool will be utilized in the usage of these items. If you’re planning to use flight ability, then it will close our Generator usage to 90% and leave you with only 10% to use for miscellaneous tasks.
“That would be enough.”
The [Generator] sustains the default Nano-Field and the movements of the [Puppets], if he had to add flight ability, then that leaves no more space for the [Generator] to accomplish other difficult tasks.
Puppets using [Energy Emission-type] weapons use 10% of the Energy Pool the [Generator] are able to create every hour.
It’s not that the [Generator] “Mechanical Function” of the Black Master Armament can’t produce more power; it’s just that the Stun E-Grenades are only able to provide a “boost” up to its current level. If he had a more suitable “boost source”, then the Energy Pool the [Generator] are able to create will be more abundant than the current energy output.
Besides, one could even say that the “energy” the Stun E-Grenades are able to provide can only be at the level of being able to “STUN” enemies, meaning, it was already weak to begin with and is unable to be used in a prolonged time and had to be “replenished” from time to time for it to be able to support the energy needs the Black Master Armament is needing.
“Boss, the fact remains that the E-Grenades are really pathetically weak and are unable to provide enough energy to even fill 10% of the maximum capacity the Black Master Armament has. I have already calculated it and I dare suggest we really look for a more promising energy source as soon as possible. The Black Master Armament will be able to able to display its prowess more aptly if we could find a better power source.”
When Cortana spoke about this, Siva involuntary turned his gaze towards Hawkeye. An absurd idea sprouted on his mind but he dismissed it as he shook his head side to side microscopically.
Hawkeye has a [Rare] MOD that has the ability to produce endless electrical energy. He can’t just go and rob her of her MOD just because he can.
“Inventing a dedicated energy source is also out of the question because it’d only u be a waste of monster resources aside from taking up more effort to control.”
“But it’s not that we can just…” Siva wanted to bid his complain but stopped as a memory struck him.
It was a very absurd, yet really plausible lightbulb moment even for Siva.
“Right… back in Anazon Forest… there is a good power source in there!”
For some reason, as hopeful of an idea it was, he couldn’t help but regain some confidence once he had realized where his thoughts headed.
Lightning Elemental Dragon!
He will never forget the sight of the Monster Army in that forest… Lapis Lazuli serving as mere foot soldiers, hundreds maybe thousands of S-Ranked Monsters prostrating themselves in its presence; it was one of the most absolute display of power he had ever seen.
Lesser Dragons evolving into True Dragons, and then evolving into Elemental Dragons… if a True Dragon was already this brutishly domineering in its presence, then it only proves that the Dragon he and Volt saw in Anazon Forest was indeed a more frightening existence that this one.
As such, for some reason, thinking of how to deal with that monster, the fast pulses Siva was feeling abruptly began to pace down bit by bit.
He was calming down by being excited.
It’s not that he was already counting his chicks; he was just setting realistic goals for himself.
“I have to survive this! 3% or even 1%, it doesn’t matter! As long as there is a chance… then it’s better than not having a chance at all.”
“It’s okay. We are still in range of the limits of the [Generator] so we will be fine. The 10% remaining will be used to execute the [Skills] we have preset prior to this. I will have to rely on you by then.”
“I understand, sir.” This time, Cortana used a stern and cold voice before reporting, “There’s only 40 seconds left.”
Right after that, butler-Akhenaton flashed beside him wearing a frown, “My Lord, this is really weird that of all places, this True Dragon just had to appear above the Mobile Fortress. It’s as if… it’s as if it had set this place as its target.”
Siva looked at him, “Do you mean that the target of this summon is specific? Is it targeting us?”
“It seems so, My Lord.”
“A Spirit Summoning usually consisted of a target, a medium, and then the source. The medium will focus his ‘will’ and imprint a purpose to the Spirit Beast, then use the Mana Source to form the shape of this purpose and use himself as the very medium to release the ‘purpose’-imprinted Mana Form to the world. This is a very sinister and very rare magic and that is why very few are able to awaken this ability.”
Siva looked up again and just when Cortana had given her reminder for the next 20 seconds, he inhaled a deep breath before uttering;
“No matter, even if we had escaped to Alexandria much earlier, Gabriel would have prevented us on using the city as a shield, how much more if we were to receive his aide so in this fight, we are probably on our own.”
The faces of everyone fell into a stupor.
Looking up to that monster, it was an easy thing to say that it measured a massive size of at least 3km if not actually 4km or even 5km.
“Shit… why is this happening?”
He cursed inwardly and then flew up. He knew it was pointless to think of things at this point. They just gotta defend.
“My fight with you has been halted and I can’t waste my chance of borrowing the Captain’s MOD so let’s make this 8 minute worth it.”
“Hmp. We’re not done yet.”
Cramer and FlowerLord followed beside him and when the trio went up, Thorn took charge as the Barrier Mages and Support Mages to cast their magic towards the castle.
[All personnel, to the castle grounds! Now!]
The command rung and The Company members all abandoned their tasks and went straight to the castle, Apus Epirus.
“Ten seconds!” Cortana yelled.
There are 9 minutes left before they can teleport away from Alexandria and escape this calamity.
“Remember everyone; the Fortress is not safe anymore so this place is now a Hunting Ground!”
Thorn’s reminder made a few members of the Guilds from Warjillis to shudder. Only now did they take Siva’s worries from earlier seriously.
“Deploy all Warships. Marshal, take charge of the Rewloola and lead all of the Barrier and Support Mages to create a dome to protect the castle and make sure that your Lambda-class War Fleet will be ready to release your Hyper Strong Magic at the first sign of an attack!”
“Fleet is already in the air!”
When Siva heard the brilliant commands of Thorn, he also heard Cortana’s report and relayed it to the rest of the members.
“Five seconds!”
At the moment, he was already a kilometer above the arena and that every last member in the arena had long since been blinked away towards the castle.
When Siva’s voice rung, he also started to activate the Killing Zone and looked beside him to see that FlowerLord drunk a vial of Blue Potion while the stalwart Cramer held his Godhammer with two hands.
Siva looked up. “Akhenaton, you’re our damage dealer while I attract its attention. It may be a bit pointless but I need you to help me control its direction and bring it close to Alexandria. While we are on it, control the Fortress and bring it as far away from the city as fast as possible.”
“Yes, My Lord.” Butler-Akhenaton vanished from his side and Cortana’s countdown met its last few seconds.
This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.
Siva yelled on their comms channel.
“At the ready!”
CRAAAAASH!!!
The sound of shattered glass rung and a very loud explosion rattled the air and sent ripples in the fabric of light as they saw it.
“By the Gods… are the Dragons awakening?”
While all the players treated this as an event, the NPCs treated this as a calamity.
After [The Beginning] era is the era called [The Founding] where nations were founded and many great civilizations flourished.
But only a few knew that on the very first few pages of the Book of Legends, there were the stories of Dragons that once ruled these lands; and their terror lay on a few short passages of time that dates back a few hundred years in between those two great eras.
When the first ‘Muans’ came to this dull planet, a few hundred years less than a Terran Year Cycle were spent before the Terran history was written.
The terror of the Dragons were imprinted on a very few but frightening pages then.
After seeking refuge from the Ancient War —the so called [War of Gods]— just as the ‘Muans’ thought that they had escaped the calamity of the Demons of the LAGRAM Armada when they came to this planet later known as “Terroa”, war came knocking on their doorsteps… only this time, the Dragons had reached their limits of patience and caused the invading Demon Armada to crumble down to their last pawn on their planet.
The Dragons and their army of monsters won in an overwhelming manner against the Demons and then turned their fangs towards the other set of invaders —the Muan refugees.
The last hundred years the era of [The Beginning] and the first two hundred years in the era of [The Founding] were fought with rivers of blood in the name of survival.
But… the Dragons are the true rulers of the land.
One man after another; one bloody losing battle after another, the Terrans lost their lives in a fleet for survival…. until the last vestiges of the Muans’ resistance, at the brink of their demise, where the original Terrans came to their rescue, clad in their mighty creations, the [Runes].
But although the Terrans were strong, they were not able to defeat the Dragons and their armies as they were merely driven to the edges of unknown forests… and lands… and seas… never to appear again.
And thus the [Age of The Beginning] reached its climax and the age of [The Founding] arose and the Muans called themselves Terrans… and the Terrans called this planet their home, Terroa.
“Is this the [Third Calamity]?” exclaimed one of the noble NPCs.
“Another event?!! It’s another unannounced event in this fucking game!” a nearby Player cursed.
Of course everyone will be shocked.
One thing after another, starting from the [Siva Incident] in Dragona, the [Shattered Moon Event] in Alexandria, and then this….
“Just what the fuck is happening in this game?!!”
Of course these players will be pissed off. Every event unlocks an unknown game feature in this game and yet these features were never officially announced, or were they introduced even, by the game developers.
What more, with every event, a few things change in RPG: Terroa, and these changes affect not just a few hundreds of players but thousands upon thousands of players who were in the middle of a quest or a mission, or was just about to get them.
It was hard to chase after high-level clues that will lead to high-level quests and missions.
And because of these Siva-triggered events, the number of disadvantaged players was increasing in an exaggerated manner.
There were already a few hundred who had now began a campaign to hunt Siva not because he held a [Grand Quest], but because they were all pissed at his untimely successions of triggering events like these.
And now… yet again, he did it.
Siva had triggered another event.
The existence of that floating island in the south of Alexandria has become the center of attention of the world… yet again!
“Raise the city defenses! Deploy all available troops… prepare for battle!!!”
Upon Billion’s commands, the alarm rung on the megaphones of the city. The surviving warships on the untouched hangar bay warehouses rose to the air; Cyclones were deployed and made their aerial formations; and Magical Barriers one after another rose to protect the wall.
The civilians’ evacuations started for another time!
“Great! Just great! Just as we are getting started to recover, this happens!”
“That floating continent is an abomination!”
“Mama… is that big thing a bringer of bad luck?”
“Don’t look, Misha, you might get contaminated.”
“It’s that island’s fault! Everything is Siva’s fault!”
“Just disappear from this land already!”
The Citizens were cursing, the Players were all in a hearty fit of rage… everything was closely tied and connected to Siva and his every move and actions always lead to world-changing events.
“City Lord… please!!! Do something about that island!”
“Drive it away!”
“Exile al them!”
“Kill them all!”
Of course, while there are those who could only curse inwardly to themselves and grumble as they retreat to the underground shelters, there’re also those who went straight towards Billion’s office in the West District.
These are the NPCs that had a bit of strength to back their words.
Billion was in a pinch and he, too, detested the existence of Siva in his city.
Well, no one might know it, but while all of these people do indeed have sufficient reasons to be angry at him, Billion had more than enough reason to loathe that very name.
‘You bastards! You’re all just a bunch of NPCs! I am a real living person… my life in the real word hangs on a thread because of him!”
If Alexandria falls, then Billion carries the burden.
He tried his best to appease his people and could only curse as he dialed a name.
A charming and seductive woman appeared on the screen.
“The reinforcements from The Hydra had just arrived from an entire week of hurrying in this god forsaken place so when are you going to get your ass up in here?!”
[Ho? Bibi-kuuuun~~ is that the right way to talk to a beautiful woman?]
Billion’s face hardened. On normal days, he would have curried favor to this beautiful woman but not today since the stakes were too high.
Every second counts. Every moment matters.
“The Teleportation Restriction has been lifted. My deal with you is only effective when you are able to actually help out in events like these!”
[Ara~ara… Bibi-kuuuun~~ is such a cutey when you are your normal… just wait there, alright, we only just discovered that news as well and are already on the last phase of our preparation to get you the help you needed.]
Billion’s face relaxed. “Good. I’m sorry I yelled at you just now, Rafaela-nim. I am just… I am just under a lot of stress from the organization.”
On the video call, the woman wearing a one-piece sparkling blue gown on a background of a ship’s command bridge’s Commander Seat, pressed a finger on her puffed cheeks, making her enticing looks even more adorably seductive.
She even lay further on her seat, adding more bit of her charm and accentuating the smooth fat-less curves of her body.
In fewer words, her current posture on the seat is all but to tease every man’s manhood.
No normal man will be able to endure and every kind of negative buffs would disappear on their statuses… including agitation and panic which Billion is experiencing.
[Ara~ara… why the sudden use of the honorifics, Bibi-kuuun~~? The deal is purely on business on the table. Negotiations are finalized. Just wait there and let me join in on the fun, alright?]
Rafaela was a natural seductress and many men would think that she doesn’t have strength.
But her ability is not something others are able to see or be privy of because while her name are all but illustrious for being “peculiar” as the infamous [Witch of Aarun], she was often heard of as the Commander of one of the most fearsome fleet in the arena of warship battlefield, than her being seen in the infantries’ battlefields itself.
In fact, only in the War of Two Powers did she ever shine the most during the recent times. What organization would want to go against her when she singlehandedly stopped a war with only her [Miranda], and a few words?
She even became a vassal governor representing The Union when the Titan Sylph was instituted.
“Do I have a choice?” With that, the call ended.
Billion faced the southern horizon and saw just then the falling image of a dragon that even in their tens of kilometers of distance away from the floating continent carried a sinister size and might that warned him of its ferocious aura.
“My god just what kind of trouble had he started now to trigger this event?”
*****
When the call ended, Rafaela, slumped leisurely on her Commander Seat flicked all the open panel windows on her vision and cleared them out.
She then looked at the display on the panel and the smile on her face vanished right then.
“What do you think, Captain?” she asked the man with a thick brown beard standing attentively on her left side.
The bearded man looked attentively and seriously on the large main display on the command bridge as he uttered his opinion, “Although this is the first time a creature that size had appeared in the planet, it is precisely because it is so that makes this entire situation rather… problematic.”
Rafaela sighed dejectedly, “He never gets to fail to arouse anger to everybody ever since he had debuted in that war over a month ago.”
“No matter the trigger, this event will further sink his name to the pits of blame.”
“Well, we could only do our part, then.”
The thick-bearded Ship Captain, Willard Newgate, stared only at the display of a descending large creature and as confident as he is, he was just as shaken as Billion is during the call earlier.
“Hyperdrive charging ready… at your command, Miss.”
As Newgate prompted his Commander, Rafaela closed his eyes and leaned her head back at the seat while extending a hand on a glass of wine at her right armrest.
“Well, I doubt that he’ll have a better chance at survival if we don’t help him.”
Newgate made a slight bow and faced the crew of the Miranda to issue a command: “Prepare for a Hyper-Space Transfer.”
At his command, a crew member started a nine second countdown while Rafaela lazily supported her left cheek with a hand while her other held a glass full of wine.
“I bet he’ll be surprised at the massive changes I made with my Miranda.”
A proud look hung on her face as she gazed at the far front of the speeding warship.
Space began to fluctuate around the now purple and red painted warship that has the shape of a long-bodied Lion Fish, with its poisonous mane its Cannons and its rear having the shape of the big tentacle mouth of a squid for the thrusters.
Light shined on the body of the warship as can be seen from the outside but the interior, or to put it more accurately, the displays of the main panel at the front showed the mirage of a wide city.
As space fluctuated, the mirage gradually turned slowly into materialization.
Then, with a final flash… the Miranda disappeared from above a frozen lake and appeared next right above the decimated Central Area of Alexandria.
It was teleportation!
And contrary to how it appeared before on Siva’s memories, he’d be in for a great surprise when he sees that the ‘Miranda Warship’ he once knew is now already so big and so bulky at a whopping size of 760 meters long, 250m high, and 450m wide.
Looking at it right now, it was even bigger than the legendary “Garuda Warship” that was 220m and is owned by Alcides Guild… which by now is listed as a traitor of the entire Terran Civilization by the Terran-Human Alliance.
To date, this thing is indeed the largest warship, or if it’s still called a ‘warship’ since it has a special build and design that lets it get the title of a ‘fleet’ rather than a mere warship.
“Spatial Transfer complete. Hyperdrive in cooling sequence. Displaying immediate vicinity.”
With a series of command from a crew member, the command bridge’s internal appearance; the ceiling, walls, and even the all-viewing glasses and its frame, all disappeared, showing a multi-directional Real@D rendering of the ship’s entire surroundings.
On the south, then, they saw the descent of the calamity on a floating continent.
