Chapter 287: The Launch and The Duel
================================
In terms of marketing an illusory reputation of The Company, its motto and identity will be spread by those higher ups that City Lord Billion fears.
He doesn’t have to even lift a finger to do it. All he had to do is stage an appearance and everything will do its job.
This is the reason why he smiled.
But then again, a ship won’t sail if it doesn’t leave the docks. The most important part to make a plan succeed is still taking that first step. And that first step is what Siva was working on right now.
“Ayish… stop whining and get into the character already!” Siva kicked the timidly coward man in his bum that made the man stoop and almost fell face first over.
“Boss…” he teary-eyed recovered and faced Siva.
“Don’t worry about your face being found out. It’s an easy feat to change your appearance. You have something that only a few people have and this something is something I can use against our enemies without them knowing. And adding to that, I have something that not just anyone in this world can have. We will use these two things and we will establish the strongest organization in the minds of the people with minimal effort! Bwuhehehe!”
When Siva spoke at this part, he glanced over at Thorn and Volt. The two immediately knew what it was and so of course, without Siva’s permission, they can’t tell this to anybody else.
They could only smile a ‘heh. I am inside his inner circle’ smile.
“I really wanna punch you right now.” (Samara)
“Hoh? Our captain has become childish for some unknown hateful reason…” (Loni)
The two’s smile froze and they almost choked. A beaming grin was never removed on Siva’s face and this was scarier than him actually frowning in anger or displeasure.
RedMetal have something?
Everyone pondered what it was but couldn’t see the view that Siva was looking at.
But more than that; isn’t his laughter rather a bit disgustingly scary for some reason?
CLAP!
CLAP!!
CLAP!!!
“Now that settles the creation of The Company. I would like to ask who would volunteer, or would like to nominate anyone to be a part of the main core’s body guards. Of course, there is a large compensation of at least 3 S-Ranked Inventions, whether it is armor or weapon equipment, you can choose you picks!”
After the ridiculous declaration and one-sided way of assigning the face of the organization, is the bait and temptation of flowery rewards.
But then again, Siva does have the ability to give away these items.
After all, he did won these reward items back in Battle City Warjillis.
Though the question of whether those players in Warjillis who was deprived of their precious gears thought so too or not is another story.
Siva looked at everyone and then cast his intense gaze towards Kathleen Brew.
He grinned playfully, or if you’d call it that way as the receiver of such a smile shivered for some unknown reason: “I nominate you.”
“WHAT?!” Kathleen was startled. Did Siva ask her for permission? No. And besides, she was busy with her anchor work so she can’t always be there even if she says yes to this ridiculous nomination.
But Siva frowned at her, “What, you don’t want to be part of it?”
His tone meant something, albeit indirectly, and this made Kathleen gnash her teeth, regretting to have ever said ‘yes’ to Scion’s invitation to join this silly meeting in this silly meeting room.
And yes, the reason why he can’t say no is because of her job as well…
She was a newscaster, one of the two hosts of the famous “TDT” brand in prime TV. All of Siva’s adventures were exclusive stories so of course she can’t say no to him.
Besides, the reason why she has more time online than on TV is because of the fact that she was the daughter of the founder of the TDT Channel Brand aside from the fact that the core people of the channel knew that she was part of Siva’s entourage.
She could only cross her arms and “hmp” her way on her own seat. Now she knew why FlowerLord hates this guy so much.
“That’s one. Anybody else?” Siva sounded proud to have backed someone in a corner and not even waiting for him to nominate someone else, Loni raised a hand.
“I nominate Fuma.”
“WHAT?! Why me?!!”
“Because I say so.”
“Wh– Bu– Haaahhh… Yes ma’am.”
Fuma tried to eye for help with Thorn but the man was tongue-tied nodding. Whether it was their own personal reasons at work here, Thorn and Loni couldn’t afford to be away from Siva at all.
Fuma, having realized that the Tower of Sol Guild was halfway to becoming a subsidiary part of this organization, could only sigh and step forward in resignation.
“That’s two. Anyone else?” Siva was happy in the direction his organization was heading to. Now he only needed to put things in motion and he could then focus on the most important things that he needed to do:
Find answers from Gabriel…
Invent second prototype of the Ultimate Erebus…
Set the direction of his [Fortress]…
Visit Pistareen within the next three days…
Find this and other great novels on the author's preferred platform. Support original creators!
Receive the [Quest] from The Oracle…
And then wholeheartedly search for Baron…
He has so much to do with so little time.
Following the events, a willing Cassiopeia, Agatha, Hawkeye, and Samara walked in later, followed by a sighing Loni and the large-framed Cramer.
However, Cramer, who walked in, stopped in front of Siva with a burning will to fight that made Thorn smile dryly and Siva blink in surprise before he too smiled in understanding.
“In exchange for this, I want a fight with you.” This was Cramer’s only condition.
“Oh? What’s the stakes?” Siva asked, smiling.
“The Mjolnir.” Cramer said and then pulled up a second legendary weapon, an exact replica or perhaps, the twin of Siva’s Godhammer. “Just like what you said back then in Battle City, The Mjolnir was indeed made up of two components. They are exactly alike with no differentiation between the two. It just so happens that you’ve taken the one with my Legendary MOD in it.”
“Ho?” Siva felt amused but for some reason, he also recalled that certain event where he talked about the reason why ‘Donar’ had descended in the mortal plane.
The reason why he was able to rob Cramer of his Mjolnir with the MOD in it during the War of Two Powers is because he had higher [LUCK] stat when compared to the rest of the players.
Now that he thought about it, he was indeed very surprised as well that he was able to spout out those lies on the spot and still felt as if it was the truth of the matter.
He spoke about a “War of the Gods” and there being the deaths of Chaos Gods and Immortals.
Siva’s [memories], right now, in fact, ascertained a few of them and he remembered ‘seeing’ Donar and Thor fighting alongside each other using similar weapons… the Godhammers!
Against whom they were fighting to, he had not a care in the world. In his [memory], he was just there to watch them kill each other.
Whether this [memory] is a part of the war against the corrupted ones or not, Siva doesn’t care.
Siva summoned his Mjolnir and as soon as he had it in his hand, a vibrating resonance happened on both weapons and he knew by then that these two are the original Mjolnirs!
But what made him more surprised was the fact that his [memories] were right again.
Although he had already resolved himself to trust and never doubt these [memories], he was still very surprised that it was true to an unfathomable scale.
He looked at Cramer when Thorn spoke from behind him, “Cramer was the strongest amongst the members of the TOS Guild. He’s a little hot blooded but he’s not a bad person. Can you just say yes to his challenge?”
Thorn wasn’t giving away his member. It’s just that Cramer has been treating his defeat under Siva as one of his demons and since then, he’s always been dejected and was unable to wholly focus as a member of the core of the TOS Guild.
On the other hand, Siva knew that Thorn was just trying to help him by expending his own personal resources so of course, since Thorn had already spoken and vouched for Cramer’s intents, he’d not say no to such a request.
“Alright. But I’ve just given away all my equipment to Scion and don’t have anything here with me except this hammer and a gun. What’s your condition for this contest?”
Duel.
This word made Cramer really burn in excitement as his usual confidence and hot-blooded personality finally resurfaced after a long time.
“A fair duel.” He declared. “Basic equipments set up with only these hammers to use as weapons, no MODs, no flight gears, no items, no magic, no buff, only real battle might and will for victory.”
“So basically it’s just a brawl…?”
“It is a brawl…. with hammers.”
Cramer’s wide teeth-showing grin is like a child’s smile before going to the park to play.
Thorn wanted to interject and say that it was a big disadvantage to Siva but thinking about it, it was Siva who was actually in advantage because the rules that Cramer had just spoke to tells of the fact that aside from one’s [Initial Ability], basically, none of them could use talismans to cast spells.
Meaning, this is just plainly a contest of might and ability to its maximum potential.
Siva grinned widely, “I like it.”
Just today, ever since his synchronization, he had been wanting to ease this boiling battle intent in his chest one way or another.
But now that opportunity had presented itself, he would only be a stupid fool if he doesn’t say yes to this chance to vent some steam.
Cramer’s smile beamed wider and he extended a hand that Siva received and gripped like a true man who’s accepting a duel.
“Three hours later.” Siva finally said. “We fight.”
“Three hours later, then.” Cramer agreed.
And thus, a duel was decided.
Clapping his hands later on, Siva finished the last agenda of this meeting. Although they were silent the whole time, but the Guild Leaders and their ace members from Warjillis, were also chosen as part of the ‘showmen’ crew alongside RedMetal.
“Everyone, now that the Black Continent has been raised, I urge you to take your own posts as we will begin our battle preparations. Since this Apus Epirus had been assimilated by Akhenaton, it had also absorbed its ability to teleport anywhere and anytime. Our next stop will be Zenturo. Expect that since we have created such a mess in The North, we will be targeted by many organizations.”
Remembering this important part, everyone else blinked. There was a part in Siva’s speech that is tingling repeatedly in their ears.
‘We’ created such a mess?
Isn’t it only you who created it all?
Of course, as brave as these lads are inside their heads, they wouldn’t say these things out loud for fear that Siva would make them clean the hallway.
Eleanor, having sense that the meeting had been completed, stood up to leave but Siva topped her.
“Prepare. After my fight, we will visit Gabriel.”
Eleanor was surprised but recovered quickly. “As Your Lordship commands.”
After bowing, with a flash of light, Akhenaton had teleported them all away.
Thorn was the referee and he was the one who’d decided the place where they will conduct the duel.
It was in the Sword-God Island.
*****
After everyone left, Siva bid a sigh as he sat down on the couch and leaned his back on the soft sofa before Scion sat down beside him.
“Rex…”
There were only the two of them. FlowerLord was not in the mood to accompany her in this moment so she went back to their quarters in the castle.
“Amanda.” Rex spoke and faced her, grabbing her hand before heaving a long sigh. “Tell me, what did Janus tell you?”
“…”
Grabbing his head, Siva bit his lower lip before he was hugged by Scion.
“I’m actually confused, Amanda. This world is but a game world, but… but there are many things that don’t fit in on any way into that description. Is my life in the real world an illusion? Are all these memories regarding a life in this world really mine and not of someone else’s? [God]…. Amanda, I am a [God]… I mean, who would believe that? I myself don’t want to believe it but… but…”
Siva leaned forward to the couch and held his head with both hands.
His breathing short, shoulders trembling, he made a long sigh before his shaking body calmed down.
“Haaaaaahhhh… Amanda, I’m in a dark world and there are people who want to manipulate my life by using my connection to this game. I feel like the World Government has something to do with all these things happening to my life. I don’t know where I live, I don’t know where Baron is, and there was this boiling urge in my chest telling me to raze everything down to the ground and burn them. Sometimes it’s intolerable, sometimes it’s as docile like a cat. I don’t know what I’m going to do or going to be if one day, I learned that Baron has been injured… or… or… Aaaaargh… Amanda, he is under DNI Therapy… I’m scared. I’m so scared but I don’t have the opportunity to be scared right now and every moment.”
Siva’s chest began to heave deeply again and this time, his short breathing made Scion tremble as she leaned closer to hug him.
His hands on his head, he was scrubbing his hair vigorously as if it’s going to help him alleviate the irritating sensation of his problems.
Scion was lost in words. She don’t know where to begin on consoling and easing his problems.
All she could do was to bury her head on his sleeve and hug his arm.
“I don’t know as well. All I know is that I will never leave you.”
“…”
They haven’t really spent that much quality time as two people with mutual feelings before this, but the time she spent nursing him full of care albeit it was against her professional ethics, made him soften his heart out to her presence.
It’s just that…
She herself is really unaware just how and why she was chosen by Janus to perform the role of a support to Siva.
Although she could connect the fact that she do love him dearly, but, does that warrant enough reason for Janus to choose him to perform this task.
Furthermore, she hasn’t even began to believe all those things she had seen.
“…”
It’s not that Scion can’t say a word to reply to him, it’s just that she was also confused because Janus showed her some things, that she could only believe if it was a movie.
She just doesn’t have the right words to say.
“Amanda,” Siva then faced her and he did not dare to remove his mask for fear that she would be disgusted. “Tell me, what did he tell you?”
