Chapter 407: Dáinsleif

================================

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh…!!!!”

Just seconds before the expected explosion, a loud cry rung from inside the metal ball and inside it was raging Siva, his body had just finished some horizontal swiping movement —a sign that he had just used [Kamaitachi] to deal with the prison.

But the explosion was still coming.

[Focus]

Siva seemed to have moved space as, after just a single second, he was inside the perimeter but at the next, he was already 30m away from Baal.

“Damn it.”

The headache that came dulled his reaction and the sudden expiration of his speed burst came too early and didn’t manage to bridge the distance between him and Baal further.

‘Cortana…’

[Leave it to me, boss.]

While Siva drunk a vial of Red Potion, Cortana was encharged of his body and used the omnipresent scanning ability of the Absolute Domain to dodge any attack at the most appropriate and easiest way possible… while still using the blades to deal with the rest of the enemies.

BOOM!!! It was only now that the self-destruction of those units happened behind Siva but he was already far away from them.

Without looking, the [Fist] flew upwards to deal an ambushing unit an uppercut while Siva cut through a pilot’s cockpit and then pulled its body with the [Hand] to block a Plasma Burst attack.

Cortana’s reports came in handy, [Focus is ready.]

[Kamaitachi is ready.]

[Hammer Blast is ready.]

[15 Friable Bombs are ready.]

The fight was taking too much mental energy and Siva realized that the thirty seconds cooldown of his skills abilities felt like an hour now.

‘Even with the blades, these guys are too many…’

[We lost a total of 481 blades in the mothership.]

This tragic loss was heart breaking. Not only did he lose too many blades from the explosion and his time inside the mothership, he’d also used almost two million PSS-Grenades already.

It should be mentioned that he spent three hours in the ship and every second consumed an almost close to 200 PSS-Grenades because of the Plasma Particles in the air inside it, including the ones he used to deal the explosions…

And right now, the Mobile Suits aren’t giving him a second to catch his breathing.

That’s why the timing of his skills cooling down was really a heavenly sounding treat.

He was pushed back at 40m away from Baal.

‘Cortana, read my mind!’

[Done!]

‘Then let’s end this!’

“RAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!”

Another full throat war cry from Siva and he pulled half his blades from the outside to form a domain with him as the eye.

They enclosed him and reduced the closest Mobile Suits into minced metals on their cockpits.

All these while, an Aviator operated on Baal and he was focusing all his strength into recovering his health and abilities.

In the middle of that blade fortress, Siva dashed forth and met all obstacles the way he did since the first instance. He crushed, diced, minced, evaded, and blocked all their attacks.

35 meters…

Siva’s blade storm erupted and the blades on the outskirts dealt with all the pesky bombers while the blades inside dealt with those in front of him.

The sight of tens to even hundreds of Mobile Suits falling in groups and waves around him made many individuals silent.

Those blurs of his blades couldn’t be seen by just any person yet they all understood that whatever it is, it was really fast and it was deadly that wherever it goes, enemies fall.

Siva was like a storm himself as his movements are all not the same since the last time Kladis met him.

His every swing of the axe made crushed enemies.

Every dodge and grab he made, he came closer and closer to the boss enemy.

He brandished the axe and crushed a Mobile Suit’s knee from the side, then he swiftly made his way through behind it, grabbed its spear-hand, and pit its shaft with a kick towards the cockpit of a second enemy.

But he never stopped moving.

And he never stopped his approach.

He was the storm of carnage and his path became an empty (metaphorical) landscape for he stored his victims into his inventory.

Then he released a punch at another cockpit that violently rocked its contents. The knees of the Mobile Suit gave in and Siva finished it with a swing of the axe before storing it.

His every move startled his audience. Kathleen’s cameras were hidden and no one else were given the chance to record his every scene, but the eyes of the spectators were fixed on him as he eventually garnered the attention of even the rest of the Mobile Suits and Jet Planes that went to get The Box back from the Red Dragon Flag.

“Goodness…”

“He’s a real monster.”

“Is he still a player?”

This last question baffled everybody. There were rumours that Siva was an NPC but majority believe he was a player.

“He moves really fast… I can’t follow him.”

“It’s indeed impossible for a player to move that fast with a bulky armor and a large axe weapon.”

Siva was swinging the axe as if it was a staff that he sometimes even twirl around his neck and then to his hips to sometimes block or finish an enemy.

In simple words, his movements looked like those martial arts masters seen in novels and movies.

“Hah!”

At 25 meters…

Siva delivered a vicious vertical slash that split the Mobile Suit’s head in two and then used that unit as stepping platform to dive down towards Baal while making a pose with his axe.

His dive was opened by a path made by the blades and as soon as he entered 20m, three Friable Bombs teleported in front of Baal.

Baal’s eyes snapped open and tried to whisk the friable bombs away with his shield but it only help it to shatter as its contents filled the immediate area 60m around them.

“No!” Baal’s eyes went wide.

Siva didn’t give him time and a Spark Grenade was activated on his hand leading to a grand explosion of lightning that crackled and blinded the area.

Every Mobile Suit was either brushed off or had been short circuited by the artificial lightning.

Baal was left there unmoving, stunned, although it will only be for a moment, for Siva, it was enough.

“Die!”

Baal’s eyes were fixed at Siva, hatred in his eyes as well as unwillingness. He didn’t succumb to his former fear but instead anger at being stunned and powerless at the last moment.

Siva finished his initial stance and he vanished at the next instant, becoming one with the wind.

“Where did he…”

The shocked expectant crowd gasped as they saw him, Siva, in front of Baal…… with another enemy.

“Invidia!” Siva hissed with hatred. “You’re alive…”

“So are you.” The intruder spoke solemnly.

It was a short man, scaly skin, and reptilian eyes. A halfway to goblin and an imp, and also a quarter of being a dwarf with a full course set of ugly features and face filled with red swollen warts.

His hands were clawed and it caught the damaged War God Axe that’s been overused since earlier.

“That move was really interesting…” Invidia said but although he sounded casual, his hands were already bleeding for forcibly stopping Siva’s strike that was still in its full motion.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

“And you’re still weak.”

Siva hissed again and the blades flew to chop off Invidia, only for him to blink away, carrying the still stunned Baal who kept on glaring at Siva.

“You think you can run away?!” Siva was really very pissed right now.

It was a sure kill but Invidia just had to come.

The blades followed them as well as Siva but Invidia threaded in between the blades’ attacks as if he was wind itself, dodging his assaults while still dragging the stunned Baal behind.

“We’ll be retreating.” Invidia said. “The First Born is really angry at you for not thinking about this. You even wasted your mothership.”

Baal’s eyes spoke of his refusal to follow Invidia but he also knew that the First Born’s wrath will be something else entirely.

“You can’t escape me!” Siva flew up just as Invidia took a step up. The blades created a blade domain and it trapped every possible direction. Invidia was still not on his peak state and so he also didn’t want to make a clash with Siva yet.

“It’s your win today, Siva… but next time won’t be.”

Right after he spoke, a pillar of hot orange Plasma Burst fell from the sky, eliminating one side of the blade encirclement and going straight towards the barrier dome… denting it deeply.

The spectators within that area all died and just as the barrier dome was also pierced. The remaining force from the attack wasn’t enough to reach the city but the resulting hot air still damage buildings and obliterated an area of 2km.

Up in the sky, a shadow of a massive humanoid figure could be seen —the origin of the attack.

“Gyoolu!”

Siva hissed the name with full hatred. Invidia used that opening to step in the air and escape, Siva’s blades numbered only around 200+ and while he wanted to use them all to catch up with Invidia, the threat of Gyoolu or another one of the Devil Gods joining the fray was still active.

He could only curse loudly.

“Like I said, it’s your win today… don’t worry, we will let you keep the crystal for now but not later on for the First Born is very eager to make minced meat out of you for burning his face to the moon on that day. You’re lucky today for you’re his prey.”

Siva relied on the fact that Gyoolu and Invidia will never join forces to deal with him today but he was still mad at not being able to deal with Baal.

[Firing ready.]

Hearing Cortana’s report, Siva secretly smiled.

‘Yep! I may actually be able kill one of them today!’

“Oh, I forgot… you’re coming with us.” Invidia’s next words actually surprised Siva.

He looked down and saw someone being dragged up by an invisible hand of magic towards Invidia’s direction. it was a man wearing blue falcon armor.

“Kladis…” Siva whispered the name.

“You’re the perfect vessel for that guy.” Siva then realized who Invidia was referring to. “And as for this disgusting armor of yours… you can just leave this trash for these future livestock.”

“Nooooo!!!” Kladis was unwilling but for some odd reason, he couldn’t resist the power binding him.

With a clank, the Blue Falcon Armour —a Rune Armour worth countries and kingdoms to everyone with a brain— actually fell off his body like a piece of used cloth just like that.

“Don’t worry. We have better things for you.”

Invidia nonchalantly kicked away the armor in some random direction but although Siva was pissed right now, he was still sane not to miss this chance.

He let the ‘parts’ bring the armour towards him and he casually stored it away as he stared up to the departing figures of Invidia and Baal.

Siva… he of course won’t let this slide.

At 700m, the fighting in Jeremiah intensified while Invidia already passed through the debris of the old mothership where the limbs had become large warships, leaving only the chest part a useless pile of burnt and melted debris.

Invidia never turned around again to look at his way and Siva actually wanted him to think otherwise so that he could finish him.

Gyoolu was, in the end, still injured and so didn’t dare to come down himself and only attacked at a safe distance where no counterattack could reach him.

1 kilometer…

3 kilometers…

The fighting around him continued as the battle for the acquisition for The Box resumed to a heated all-out war of organization against organization.

Rentaw was long gone along with their haul.

Flagship Jeremiah was already active and is in the midst of suppressing the violators.

Haven Dust Company was struggling against the remnant forces of the Aviators. The Supreme that attacked the Grand Mansion retreated and since he can’t release his limiter, he couldn’t do much at the tight security around the crystal holder.

It was practically a given that the Demons already chose to give up on the Supreme in The Box.

All around Terroa, the Demon Armada had begun a massive retreat and so those forces who hasn’t yet given up on the spoils in Jeremiah swarmed in bulk and numbers.

Kladis’ harem were still flabbergasted at the sudden cancellation of their revenge plot.

Gats was fuming on a remote corner in the city as he hatefully glared at Siva’s direction.

And as for the piles of melted alien debris floating in the sky, Siva already began to send his Liberty Drones to help with the retrieval operations of the Central Region special metals.

He, himself, however, was smiling.

5km away… Gyoolu had long retreated first while a dot in the sky signified the retreating figures of the ugly face and the twice defeated.

Siva smiled, “You think you can run from me?”

With a ripple in space, the 10m Dáinsleif appeared in front of him.

[Stabilizing position. Initiating world scope. Visual targeting schematics uploaded, estimating scans result…. referencing data… calculating trajectory...]

Dáinsleif was a (secret) weapon meant to target his enemies from a relatively impossible distance.

Physically, a 5km snipe was impossible.

But this Dáinsleif, it was meant to bridge the very thought of an impossible sniping. Heck, he even used it earlier to deal with Baal at 30m distance. It wasn’t a sniping distance but he still did it.

In front of Siva, a crosshair appeared and in it was the sight of the three figures. Kladis was already in a state of unconsciousness.

‘Are they going to use him for Lust?’

Siva hesitated.

He hated Lust third next to Baal with the one he hated the most being Sefirah.

‘Cortana, you read my mind. What’s your advice?’

[Are we going after EXP points or the future?]

Siva paused to think.

‘How many EXP do we have now?’

[You currently have 21,564 EXP sir.]

Siva was shocked, ‘How many demons did we kill?’

[The EXP points from Pawns are 97% of our total point harvest while a Supreme is 100 points each.]

‘We killed two of them so that leads us…’

[An ordinary Demon Commander, regardless of its rank, is worth 50 points.]

‘Gyoolu’s arm is 300 points… so what if… oh, I see now…. so that’s it…’

While Siva mentally processed it, he let nature take its toll on his current undertaking. He let the blade domain loose around him and also released the rest of the BMA’s parts and created a 100m large defensive circle.

‘I designed Dáinsleif to have a maximum effective range of 10km but if we use a special bullet, we can extend that range to 12km.’

[Fire when ready, sir.]

Siva paused again, ‘We only have one shot at this at the moment. Should you do it or should I do it?’

He actually turned to look at Cortana.

8 kilometers…

[Are we going for productivity or personal goals?]

Siva paused to think, inhaling, exhaling, inhaling, and then exhaling again… he chose the former.

‘There will be plenty of time to get my revenge in the near future.’

Few would notice it but there was a sinister smile on Siva’s face when he said the part about a near future event.

[Wise choice sir. Please choose a target.]

‘Invidia.’

[Target confirmed.]

Cortana took control of everything. Siva was only the vessel of the most frightening sniper in all of the history of any worlds.

“All you Devil Gods, aside from the wench and that Mefisto, are the same… you thought that because I am weak right now, everything will be over if you threaten me? I’M THE ONLY ONE ALLOWED TO THREATEN OTHERS!!!”

He was hissing the words through his gritted teeth.

Although his logic was twisted, it was a Siva thing.

“Cortana, activate the speakers.”

[Speakers activated.]

Inhaling deep, Siva spoke in the demon tongue.

“IT’S SICKENING TO SEE YOU AGAIN, WART FACE, DIE! HAHAHAHAHA….”

Cortana didn’t waste a second more as the gunshot was released. There was just the “CHUB!” sound that’s as quiet as a passing moth, and the special bullet only the Dáinsleif can use went and denied the wind barrier… passing through the 7km space in a blink of an eye.

The spectators were shocked. Siva remained there on his position not moving at all while he was still protected by his domain.

Everybody thought it was already over but there’re some who still wished and hoped, and thought that it wasn’t yet so they waited.

These were Siva’s fans. They trusted Siva’s brain that worked in mysterious ways.

And for those who kept a watch at the retreating dot in the far reaches of the sky…

Suddenly, they saw a flash of light come from the direction of the protective circle and after a second was the sight of the dot in the sky falling back down towards the ground.

[It’s confirmed, sir, Invidia gave 1000 EXP.]

‘Did his bead blew apart?’

[Everything from his chest up was gone, sir.]

‘Wonderful! Now, for the bonus prize…”

Baal doesn’t have the flight ability like Invidia and so he fell straight to the ground, screaming like a baby. Invidia, the complacent, thought that he was already safe and didn’t board their escort warships.

And so, he was the first to die.

But Siva wasn’t finished yet. As Baal was tumbling over while falling —a spectacle of its own— Siva stored back Dáinsleif and then brought out six sets of the Rewloola Retrofit Cannons.

Three on his left and three on his right, then he began to fly towards the falling Baal. The warships in the sky were already 12km away and so when they realized that their Generals weren’t following them any longer, they tried to go back but it was already too late for them.

Siva reached the defenseless Baal through the Liberty Drones he scattered since earlier and with the Killing Zone active, he pointed the Rewloola Retrofit Parts towards Baal and fired.

“Hasta La Vista… dipshit. This is the near future!”

B-B-B-B-B-BANG!!!

One volley, the already severely weakened Baal received the cannon fires to his back. As he was tumbling in the air and unable to find any footing with his useless hooves, Siva will never be stupid enough to actually shoot him where he can defend them.

But even with the volleys of attacks, Baal only got dents and battered lava flesh. All in all, he was still as sturdy as a rock.

“Great!” Siva was overjoyed then pulled out the spear that he inherited from Prince Antukin. “As a token of our relationship… I will make you suffer a death you will never forget.”

Baal’s lava orc face showed anger at the sight of his son’s spear being wielded expertly by Siva.

“Y-You…” he can’t speak. His body ached.

His once brightly glowing magma body was now a dried up igneous rock that only emitted slight heat.

Baal only saw a series of flash and his limbs were all slashed away. Then, Siva supported him thru the BMA parts and showed him how he stored his Flaming Sword and his Sturdy Shield in inventory.

He was too agonized and in pain to speak but his eyes showed unwillingness to die in vain like this.

“Don’t worry… there are always fun things in hell.”

Siva chose to use the most bastardly kill sentences he currently have in his arsenal. Yes. It was plural.

“Death…… by urination!”

The first sentence was extreme humiliation. Siva let loose a golden shower and let Baal took bath in it.

Baal was outraged and shouted and roared but he can’t even summon Mana, and is limbless so he can only shout out in shame, agony, and hatred.

“Death…… by castration!”

The second was really vicious with his sentences but he was doing them all as fast as he can. In fact, there was a certain order on things. As he recalled all the words he heard Baal and his sons spout at his mother that day, he couldn’t help but feel that all of these tortures weren’t enough yet.

Besides, these ‘sentences’ were the exact same things Baal spouted back then. He said he will rape Terra and make her bear his children.

He said he will cut her limbs and feed it to his pets.

He also said that he will embowel her and she will be healed over and over until she begged for them to kill her.

He called her a useless, weak God…

He called many names…

He cursed her efforts to preserve the Universe.

He condemned her for her kindness and sincerity.

He spoke many things that makes Siva’s muscles twitch in rage that if he didn’t torture Baal today that he can, he will never be able to sleep peacefully.

A game?

This world ain’t a game for him.

He lived in this world for millions of years, met his friends, established his home and protected it with his family… he experienced pain, joy, love, and so many other things in this world that he actually came to think that perhaps he was transmigrated in an alternate universe.

—and that he did.

For many years, eons, epochs, eras… Siva was a lonely spirit drifting in the Universe, thinking of the girl that couldn’t escape his thoughts.

She was his world.

But he came back.

When he learned the truth about her death, he was so devastated. He wanted to come back to the Terran Universe but his parents wouldn’t allow it and he also understood it. And so, to escape this searing pain in his heart… he chose to forget.

And yet, now, he remembered… and he got that chance he wanted to come back here for.

Revenge.

He will never let it slide. Never. Not again.

Because taking down these Devil Gods will also save his brother, he had to do it.
