Chapter 474: The Nano-Cryo Preserver Appears

================================

170,000 Credits, to the current Rex who had now become a stock market manipulator, was an easy amount of money to create.

For normal humans, calculating the slightest and smallest of fluctuations in the stock market was and then making the most money out of them, all in under a moment’s instant, was impossible. But Rex did because he had Cortana.

He used over a thousand bank accounts and put their account balances into jumping rotations then create more bank accounts on hundreds of Bank Businesses and doing the same thing again so he could avoid detection —every hour—was his way to telling his competitors that he wasn’t an idiot.

Many people tried to look for the aliases he used to snatch the dough out of their mouths but they all ultimately failed to locate his origins because not only he used real world names to do his deed in the market, all of those names were also told of the scenario they should reply once they were found and questioned.

Gradually, the stock market world’s giants began to learn of a single name —Mitra.

Mitra has become a legend.

His ways are legit but his intensity and sudden rise to prominence has become a subject of great interest because out of the 99.99% surefire drop of a stock, he would insert himself in that 0.1% of allowance to buy a soon to increase in stock price item in its cheapest worth possible. And then, just a few hours before the price of the stock actually falls down, he’d sell it all clean in sky-high prices and those who bought the stocks would soon regret their actions and could only rage on as the loss of their money was expelled in vain.

The records of Mitra’s earnings are calculated to not drop in over 50 times every transaction. And so far, for the last five days since his name had started to appear, he had over a thousand stock transactions already.

He repeated this trick over and over, that he had now become a greatly sought after existence in the entire stock exchange industry.

Naturally, when Stark and the rest was contacted by someone named ‘Mitra’ they were meeting for the transaction with Siva and asked their Battle-AIs to search for his name, this information came to boom at them like a storm.

So it turns out that the person behind Siva was actually Mitra, the now world-shaking millionaire who was currently storming the stock markets.

Many attempts to uncover his identity and contact him have been deemed a failure.

Who would have thought that they’d meet him in RPG: Terroa today?

“To be precise, I am one of Mitra.” Siva said. Of course, the ‘person’ they were meeting was none other than the first Tai Long who had a modified face and business attire appearance. “Mitra is not a single person, it is an organization and so by telling you this, I hope you’d be aware of the big trouble that may come to you if we proceed with this transaction.”

If there was something Siva was ‘now’ proficient in, that would be lying to people he didn’t trust in his heart. Giving false information but still sticking to the deal was the basics of a successful Mafia Leader. Right now, with his needs and enemies, acting like so would be to his best benefits. Since his opponents were clueless and have no way to trace his identity, he would certainly use this new weapon of his at its fullest use and capacity.

“But that’s not the important part.” He said, “We are here as business partners. My only wish is that you keep my identity a secret since after all I am just an individual trying to earn a living for my family. I know I don’t need to tell you but this is a transaction that is completely under the rug from the eyes of the Panorama. I personally haven’t met Siva so this won’t implicate your Quest. So I do believe that we’re sharing the same amount of risks here, yes?”

Stark stared at him intently and said, “What’re you planning to the information we have with Siva?”

“Compile it.”

“Compile it? Why?”

Siva scratched his head, “Well, I won’t lie to you in saying that I am also interested in following the same tracks that you said earlier.”

“Is it about the Era of the Gods?”

“Well, yes, but more than that, I am more interested of the truth.” Siva’s eyes became sharp at this point.

Stark stared at him, prompting for a share. Siva thought, if I was indeed someone named Mitra, I wouldn’t even tell this to you but since I am a bit magnanimous lately, I will tell you.

“I’ve heard things in Panorama HQ about this game being connected to some secret project invented by the World Government. If what you said is true about you living a long life in this game… then there is indeed a connection with the UNICORN when they developed this game and they are using us players as test subjects for their science experiment. And that experiment being the very thing you have experienced. You already know since I told you, right? There is a risk on what you’re doing.”

Stark was concerned. What, now the UNICORN is involved? But then again, it wasn’t a far-offed assertion that living thousands of years inside the game was indeed something impossible.

They thought of this before, naturally, but they all only thought of it in passing and haven’t actually gone through with the matters as far as his words they’d heard today. But now that the guns were shown, won’t the transaction now be too late to even back out of? After all, they’ve already heard something they shouldn’t have —whether it’s true or not.

Stark frowned, weighing the pros and cons of coming back on that timeframe and risking death if they stayed for too long online.

If the UNICORN is indeed involved in that, then wouldn’t that mean that they... were nothing more than just guinea pigs for them to test out their Techs into? Isn’t that against Human Right? Isn’t that just pure tyranny?

There was purpose for their experience being on that timeframe in the game unintentionally and if Mitra’s words were true, then it means that they had involuntarily become their test subjects.

It was scary to think about it since it involved the World Government that’s why he was hesitating.

Stark looked at Siva —to Mitra— and sought to study his expression. Won’t this guy sell us out if things go south?

“What would you do after you got the Intel?”

“Good question. I guess I was just also looking in Siva’s connection to it all. You see, even as I am the actor behind Siva, everything I’ve been doing until now are all scripted. The one fighting all the NPC bosses all this time was the NPC Siva. I was only in charge of making contact with people and reading out scripts. Well, to answer your question I suppose I would live in it.”

Siva said without hesitation and this quick reply shocked them.

He added, “If what you said is true, then wouldn’t it be fascinating to live in a world different from our own? And then log out only when you’re too used to it or began to get bored of it?”

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Stark felt it was a chance and prompted, “Then wouldn’t it be better if you just came with us?”

“I can’t.” Siva said. “Don’t forget. I’m also Siva. I can’t go along with you.”

Realization dawn on him, “Right.”

“So, I buy your information for 170K and then you get your members to be strong up to 600. Is there something else you want to add?”

“You’re not going to doubt if the information will be false or not?”

“If it’s false, I’d know and then report you guys or tell my GM buddies back in HQ to make it hard for you. I know you already thought of that.”

Stark nodded. They indeed knew that since this guy is Siva, he can also make it hard for them and that would only end up with them losing it all and failing themselves in their ultimate goal.

“But since this is a business transaction, then let us proceed with the business. Come with me to Siva’s headquarters.”

At the mention of the word, Siva turned around and began to go back to Maria. Stark and the members of Atropos followed him until they entered the gates and saw the despondent looks in the eyes of the citizens.

They ignored it all as they proceeded towards the City Lord Mansion that’s now being hidden by a 1km-large blue smoke tornado.

Many people in the warships saw them come but before they could even move, an opening in the tornado wall appeared and swallowed the group and closed again. They could only roar and shout their anger.

Meanwhile, Siva was already waiting there and he was looking at the far horizons, steady, unmoving like a mountain.

“What’s he doing?” whispered Paak.

“I don’t know as well.” answered Mitra, “He’s like that, you know. Sometimes, after I logout as Siva, I’d even see him talking to his minions as if he was actually a living person. Isn’t it weird?”

“By minions you mean…”

“His followers, who else? You have to keep this a secret, okay? I was tasked as a keeper for this True Dragon Blood and using it to earn money is illegal so please don’t spoil things for me.”

Stark glared at his back but he didn’t say a word since although it would be beneficial if they could buy this blood from Mitra, their ultimate goal in the end was to transact business with Siva to get close to him and go back in that timeframe.

And as for Siva NOT being a Panorama Corp. employee and was actually Mitra… that would’ve already been an absolute impossibility.

How?

Why?

It’s because in RPG: Terroa, you can’t have two player avatars but right now, Mitra was talking to them while just earlier, he was also Siva. That’s one proof enough. Another proof that he wasn’t a hoodlum trying to con them of their Intel about Siva is the fact that before they even met Mitra, and before ‘Siva’ even came out in the open, the Pioneers have already been searching for a way to get back into that timeframe and Siva’s name had been popping out here and there in all of the records they’ve accumulated.

Taken into a player’s perspective, on their pursuit of their [H-Class Quest], for two years now, it was only normal that at some point in time, [Siva] will have to appear to tell them that they were this close into their search for a way to come back.

Mitra’s alibis are solid event the Battle-AIs can’t scan through this Mitra as being anything else so of course, they would believe him.

But…

Little do they know Siva was secretly observing them as he pretended to be mysterious staring at some place faraway like that.

When they entered the 10 meters distance away from Siva, Mitra then stopped and turned to face them, whispering, “Okay, now, here’s your first 100K Credits. The rest will be given tomorrow after this transaction. Where is my Intel?”

Stark swiped the air and flicked a panel window at Mitra —who didn’t show any indication that he’d received it. But Siva, who was behind him, did so after Cortana checked it all and confirmed to be at least 50% legit, he commanded Mitra to settle the transaction.

“Alright. That settles it. Come.”

Mitra approached Siva from the side while those members of Atropos looked at him in reverence.

Siva, of course, did his best to play his role and acted mysterious just like an NPC God. It wasn’t even taking any effort since he’d lived a life just like that in that distant past.

“Mitra.” Siva turned to him when they got close.

“Boss.” Mitra greeted. “These guys are here to buy ten units of True Dragon Blood from you. I also told you about them being an accomplished team of maintenance technicians. They can also check the Nano-Cryo Preserver for you.”

“Is that so? Follow me.”

They entered into the mansion and went into the basement where a large enough space around a few tens of meters wide is already prepared for their visit’s purposes.

“Be quick with it.” He said.

Siva didn’t say anything more and waved his hand and with a ripple in space, a large object popped out of nowhere, landing in the empty space and kicking up dust and a few unknown particles.

With one look, it was already an easy 50m in size and to keep this large of an item into an Inventory is just plain impossible for players.

This was proof enough that Siva is indeed a key NPC for their quest. It only made Stark and the others jubilant with this confirmation.

Siva left the room and exited through the door, leaving Mitra alone in the basement.

Of course, he was only outside the door, hiding in multiple layers of Mini Realms just to be sure.

Mitra spoke to them, “Well, just like what we’ve already agreed from the call earlier, we can only ‘baptize’ ten of you at the same time. So, who will be the lucky first ten out of you?”

Stark was already prepared. There are twelve of them in this batch and the twins with large boobs belonged to the group.

Siva, in the Mini Realm, was thankful that there was no one here right now or his thoughts would have been read by the readers.

Mitra said, “You have to take off all your clothes if you’re going to bathe in the True Dragon Blood.”

There were four girls and eight guys in their team and s of course, all of them hesitated while the boys that was selected to undergo the first batch of baptism was already taking off their clothes one by one.

One of them teased, “What? You won’t get naked just because we’re here?” and he laughed as the other guys followed.

“Pervert.”

“Bastard.”

The girls were blushing and they looked over at Mitra who said, “I’m sorry girls but if you don’t hurry, Siva might come back and learn what we are doing here. Would you want to lose points in his closeness stats for you?”

Stark looked at the ladies and nodded, “We’ll let you girls go first and we’ll turn our backs so that we can’t see you.”

—but I will. Bwehehehehe…

Siva was delighted and started recording it all when, at that moment, he received a call…

“No, it’s only your imagination. Just imagination...”

Amanda began her story and Siva, well, he——

—Nooooooooo!!!

*Conversation details too long. Omitted*

Stark was at least still a gentleman and the boys didn’t dare to disrespect the girls. Mitra remained there standing, smiling at the girls who didn’t start moving and only stared at him.

Waan prompted with her eyes, “Hello? We are changing?”

Mitra didn’t reply.

“Hello?” Paak glared at him.

“Huh? What? Oh, it’s alright, you’re not pretty. I have a wife already so you can get naked.” After he spoke he turned around and the girls could only glare at him. Then he added, “There’s the opening hatch and there’s also a tube there for your air. Make sure to submerge every part of your skin in the blood to make it work. And don’t let a single drop of blood leak out of the hatch when you enter.”

As he finished speaking, one of the girls asked in a doubtful tone, “Is that really fresh True Dragon Blood? Where is the Dragon?”

“Didn’t you hear me earlier? That’s Siva’s Nano-Cryo Preserver. It perfectly preserved the still beating heart of the True Dragon that appeared in Alexandria.”

The Atropos members were fascinated and after the girls entered, the guys moved next.

As before, the entire process lasted ten minutes and after that, all of their stats increased to 600.

After fifteen minutes more, they were ready to depart from the place.

Stark and one more were scheduled for the next day where they will be transacting with Siva in full details according to their plans with Mitra.

When they exited the room, Siva was there, and there was some sort of displeasure on his aura.

Stark stretched out a hand at him, “We’ll be back tomorrow for the final check. Thank you so much for the opportunity. We’ll come back tomorrow.”

“Okay.” Siva flatly said and shook his hand. But although it was just a simple gesture, something popped out in Stark’s vision that caused his face to crumple in mad joy and delight.

Siva frowned, “Are you okay?”

Stark tried to recollect his breathing and stay calm but the way he looked at Siva was like that of the Acolytes of the Blood Dragon Church when they look at their Elders. It was worship. It was full of veneration to a living God.

But Siva didn’t pay too much attention to that. He can’t focus his mind. He was actually thinking of something else more important that he missed.

Mitra then urged them to go and Siva got back to the room to collect the large ball of metal as he berated himself for the deed while grumbling—
