Chapter 277: A Letter

================================

Akhenaton didn’t have to do anything and only gave it a thought as Eleanor and the four ladies behind her were teleported after a flash of light that engulfed their bodies.

Siva then turned to Scion who stood up and made her way to his side in a hurry. FlowerLord glaring at him, and nothing else, kept seated behind.

“Rex, please don’t be angry with her. She was only thinking for my sake.”

Siva didn’t remove his mask and only gave her a smile that could scare a crying baby to silence.

He faced FlowerLord, “I understand that you are angry at me for your reasons, but…” he then gave Scion a glance and sighed as the arm that’s pulled by Scion became heavy as it landed on his side.

Scion’s face furrowed as if she was about to cry and this made FlowerLord frown even deeper as she stood up and went beside her.

“…understand it or not, the people who had my neck and have Baron’s life in their hands aren’t the type of people that can be threatened by the mere mention and existence of the police. Even the UNICORN with their armies wouldn’t even make them flinch…”

Smart people could read between the lines on his words and FlowerLord could.

Unfortunately, Scion wasn’t able to read them.

“Rex, what are you talking about? Are you going to push me away again? Why don’t you just tell me what’s going on so I can help you solve it?”

“Mandy.” Before Scion could receive more painful words as a reply from him, FlowerLord pulled her hand and shook her head. “It’s best that we give him space to solve his issues and be contented to be close to him like this for now.”

There was a hint of mockery and sarcasm on her tone and set of words but FlowerLord also meant them literally and was simple enough for Scion to understand them.

Her last few words also meant that she also do care about Scion’s visible feelings for Rex.

After all, Scion wasn’t really that dull-headed and simple-minded to not understand simple and direct words, especially when it was spoken by a friend whom she trusts wholeheartedly.

Scion bit her lip and crumpled the hand she had reached out to grab hold of Siva’s arm again, pulling it back weakly and staring at his face.

After spending two seconds in silence and giving Siva a trembling, near-crying gaze, a bright light also engulfed the two of them as they were teleported away by Akhenaton with the most perfect of timings.

Siva gave him a nod of thanks and Akhenaton gave him a bow before vanishing himself.

Siva then faced the two advisers, “When did the Archangel arrive? I kind of feel that it was earlier than the eight days they said.”

“Ah, well,” Thorn scratched his cheek, “They used 50% of the straight path we created from Warjillis to Alexandria in full speed. So that’s why they’re able to reduce their time by two whole days.”

“….”

“Anyways,” Volt interrupted. “Siva, I’m quite a bit confused…”

“On what?”

“Well, we finished the interrogation with the two members of the core of The Legion and they actually gave us some information I know you will find really intriguing and alarming.”

“Oh?” Siva answered with a curious gesture.

“Yeah. Especially that Zaza. He even handed me a laptop full of information.”

“Laptop? I didn’t know that with the holo-panel technology of this world’s humans, they are still using that.”

“Not really.” Thorn said and shook his head on Siva’s remark, “This laptop is an assembly and it also has parts that were only available in Jeremiah through a strict round of investigation and permit applications. It is an invention and an item.”

“Item Invention… that’s something you don’t hear everyday.” Siva was amazed and at the same time, he was also curious. “But such an item… did you perhaps meant by interrogation is…”

“Hehe…” Volt and Thorn scratched their cheeks at this question, “You know, the Thief-Class may not be that much helpful in the battlefield but they have their own uses when interrogating stubborn people like them.”

“Oh.” Siva chuckled at the two’s ‘cleverness’.

They just used Pitou as a pick pocket. It may be sort of degrading the Thief Job Class to be used in such a manner but since there was no actual job system in Terroa, they could just mean it as these two maximizing their resources.

Of course, Zaza and Redeye wouldn’t just tell carefully invested and cautiously planned hard-earned information like that.

But of course, they wouldn’t have expected that much like Hagrid’s minion named “Raven”, Pitou also has a similar [Initial Ability] to could take an item from someone else’s inventory.

As such, as much as they wanted to resists, even if this ability only takes things by chance, once Pitou showed the laptop item to the two of them, their expressions darkened and they became agitated to the point of unleashing verbal curses.

The two of course knew immediately that this item wasn’t just an ordinary item. While the rest of the things Pitou stole became the reward for the cooperation, Thorn and Volt took the laptop and studied its uses.

It was here that Volt discovered something that has significance on their party.

…or to be more precise, has importance to Siva.

Volt nodded, “Yeah. Look.” and he showed Siva a holo panel that protruded from the laptop’s screen showing the results and recording of the things that The Legion had been up to with the item.

As Siva read about the information, there are four things that he found indeed intriguing but not that alarming—

—and in fact, felt that it should be no wonder.

It’s like a thundering lightning flashed on his head as his mind worked to remember a detail from the [memories].

Images, or rather visions, flashed on his mind as he recalled these [memories] and when it stopped, it hasn’t even been 0.01 second as all of the memories about this ‘information’ were now in the surface of his mind, permanently, and ready for recalling any time.

At this point, Siva also secretly noticed how to trigger, use, and thoroughly process these [memories] as a real usable asset.

Right now, he still can’t freely recall them as they are but to trigger and unlock them, he was only given certain impressions on what will they be.

Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.

He rejoiced with this.[1]

“Blood Dragon God…?” Siva murmured. “I have the memories but I’ve kept on denying it over and over… I was only missing the right key to unlock this information in my sea of memories.”

Sefirah already gave him the clues and back then, he wasn’t in the right mind to actually process her words to him.

But right now, he had the information regarding the real identity of the Blood Dragon God.

He is once Siva’s main servant and it has a name:

Vasuki….

….Lord of the Naga Serpents!

(A/N: meaning it’s a male something. LOL (^^))

“And to think my Quest had warned me about the people trying to revive this guy…”

Siva let out a bitter laugh that made the two look at each other before looking back at him.

“You know how to use this information?”

“It has something to with your Quest, right?”

Siva chuckled and nodded, “Yes. It has everything to do with my Quest. In fact, it’s actually connected to me more than you guys can even imagine.”

““Oh.””

Right, the information they got from the two members of The Legion was they are people that aimed to control and revive the Blood Dragon God… the supposed existence that was should be sealed by the original creator of the curse that is now plaguing his body.

“And yet, Sefirah laughed about this. Ironic. She did have the right to laugh though… to think that I’d be cursed by my own familiar.”

Siva closed his eyes and recalled the information.

In the [memory], he was traveling the starry sky atop a golden-yellow chunk of cloud and while he had no companion at that time, he was stroking a black scaled lizard-like-draconic existence that’s wrapped on his neck like an ornament.

For a very long time it was his companion before Siva had decided to let go of it when it had finally served its vowed purpose and time.

When he opened his eyes, he was full of smiles.

It was a mysterious smile that baffled the two as they couldn’t see him closing his eyes only saw him smiling there like an idiot.

“Yo, Siva?”

“Dude, you okay?”

“No problem here. I only felt… refreshed… or maybe you can say that I feel glad that I got this information.”

“Well,” Volt closed the laptop. “I’ve already taken and copied the things inside this laptop. But in regards to this item’s functions… it’s not registered in the database since it was not made through an NPC Shop.”

Siva understood what he meant. As someone who owns his personal Portable Nano Furnace, he can have a choice to also assemble items to invent new things, and choose not to register those inventions in the database.

Meaning, the person who invented this item has a permit that was approved by Jeremiah’s Human-Terran Alliance.

This is something that Siva couldn’t get but in his mind, he already has a concreted plan on how to maximize the Portable Nano-Furnace.

It was even close to accomplishing one of his newly-made dreams!

He faced Thorn, “By the way, have you contacted The Mansion already?”

“Ah! Regarding that…” Thorn pulled up an invitation letter. “they said that the meeting should happen after cleaning up the devastation in the city of Alexandria.”

Siva thought of Gabriel.

With that guy’s magic ability, shouldn’t he be able to accelerate or even perhaps just help hasten the recovery of Alexandria?

After all, he was an Immortal.

“What is this letter?”

“It’s from the Human-Terran Alliance sent through Enchanter Temple’s Main Headquarters.”

Siva’s brows twitched. He was worried that they will be angry because of his crime and that this letter is a subpoena that will force an attendance to his presence.

The letter hasn’t been opened but looking at Volt and Thorn who wore helpless looks, the two also felt that this was just a normal reaction to what Siva did back there in Warjillis.

“You could have opened this, right?” Siva said.

Volt chuckled, “That’s the thing. It has a unique magic spell applied to it that’s preventing us from opening the letter.”

“Oh?” Siva checked the letter again and saw that there were some small tear marks on the side.

“It can’t be opened but it can be destroyed.” Said Thorn and sighed, “And since the messenger only said that it was addressed to you, we thought that the spell can only be unlocked when it was you who will open it.”

“I see.”

When Siva replied to this point, his mind was also working towards the ‘deal’ he had struck with AG.

He was told to provide H-Class Information but he was also able to lower the grade of the first payment into unique information.

“This is certainly something that is not part of the released information of Panorama Corp..”

“It is, right?”

“We also thought that it is. It seems that this is just one of the things that Fuma told me that were changing in Terroa.”

Siva was also aware of it, albeit vaguely. He knew and saw from TV reports and forum posts that a certain number of people are complaining about the increasing incidents of NEW THINGS that’re not in the initial released information regarding the world of Terroa.

And Panorama Corp.’s reply:

.

.

.

.

It was a part of the surprise. Terroa evolves as you guys evolve. You control the direction of the story, you create your legend, you guys are the legends inside… it is a world that is 90% closer to reality than you can possibly imagine…

.

.

.

Of course, the fact that they can’t control Janus and certainly can’t control their own game cannot be leaked out in public.

It will only lead to the downfall of the company. As such, this was the best they can do.

These kinds of information may be small in its very essence but their impact in the overall picture of things was very big.

If you can program “Magic Spells” in this kind of way, then it wasn’t an exaggeration to say that even battle-related spells can be programmed to be [timed] or maybe [target specific] to serve as a landmine to ambush players.

Furthermore, this is not the only practical application of this type of magic.

Just thinking about the possibilities, the three men sighed as Siva looked at the letter in his hand.

“Well… there’s no point delaying it…”

Inhaling deep and exhaling long, he ripped the edge of the letter that didn’t emit any kind of resistance, solidifying the trio’s doubts, and saw the small pink piece of paper.

“*Sniff* Wait. *Sniff* *Sniff* It’s scented.” (Siva)

“I never knew that The Temple is this… sweet…” (Thorn)

“My impression bar just went down a notch. (Volt)

[Hello, Master Siva… we have been aware that you want to connect to us through our branch in Alexandria and we at the Headquarters of the Enchanter Temples can only imagine that this request of a meeting will be regarding the incident that had happened in the city of Warjillis.[1]

We can also imagine that you may want to ask for a compensation for saving our branches in the city of Alexandria with the impetus of the reason why you have assaulted the temple in Warjillis is for having the power to fight the menace that had just transpired in Alexandria.

But I can assure you, the matter of you saving the branches in Alexandria, and you, assaulting the temple in Warjillis and ended up killing a valued Enchanter of our temple, are two different matters that we want to discuss.

Yes, The North is a place where the criminals of the world hide because it was a place that no government are allowed to be established aside from the sleeping Empire of Tiara… but nevertheless, we still appreciate the gesture of you saving the City of Alexandria from the enemies of our race and from the greedy palms that attacked the city out of personal goals, endangering one of the Temple’s most important personage, and in turn saving majority of a long lasting heritage.

As such, we would like to request you a meeting, here, in the center of the Human-Terran Alliance, in the mighty Castle City of Jeremiah, to talk about the matters concerning your request and our dearly regarded compensation on your crimes.

This is a secret missive that I hope will reach you in good faith along with its intended purposes.

Rest assured; The Temple will not pursue your crime on killing one of our Elders, unless, of course, you are willing to be hunted down by The Temple for the rest of your life, if you choose NOT to cooperate with us.

Hehe…

Sincerely, Pistareen…]

“I feel weird.” (Volt)

“How weird?” (Thorn)

“Like… raging… weird…” (Volt)

“Dude… I feel the same!” (Thorn)

“I feel pissed just reading his name.” (Volt)

“And he actually laughed right after… grrr….” (Thorn)

“Hey, can I borrow that? I’m just gonna crumple that paper for just a bit.” (Volt)

“I’m gonna chew on it and put my saliva on it and then send it back to his face via air-punch-mail…” (Thorn)

“…..” (Siva)

Not only had the messaging system of Terroa classical to the point of resembling Earth’s old ways, this one particular note meant many things just on its own as well.

First, the person called Pistareen is certainly not a simple person to send a pink memo with scented paper on it.

Second, this person sure knows how to be both domineering and commanding, and also scary. He sure did deliver the fact that The Mansion is angry at Siva for killing one of their Elder Enchanters.

Third, and most important…

“He sure knows how to make people angry. This is the most autocratic letter I’ve ever read.” (Siva)

“Let’s just punch that guy when we meet him.” (Thorn)

“I’ll be the starter.” (Volt)

Siva sighed and was just about to fold the letter when he noticed a few words written in very tiny letters in the bottom of the paper.

“Hm?”

[PS: You only have four days to come here or we will issue the Hunt Mission for you. This message will explode automatically. Good Luck.]

“What the…?!”

Surprised by the content, the other two who was looking at Siva who was fixated to the letter was surprised when the pink notice burst in flames on Siva’s fingers.

There was no heat and there was no damage as they were in a save zone but it was still surprising and the sudden flash as the paper burned silently shocked the three that they could not even react in time and only watched the paper burn into tiny bits and pieces. There weren’t even ashes left.

It was an old trick, thought Siva, but it worked.
