"Double joy!" Barrett Walk's mood had now settled down, but he couldn't help feeling a bit depressed about the common name that Prag Leo had given to the voice password. Nevertheless, Barrett quickly sat inside the space of the mech.
"How do I operate this?" Barrett Walk asked, looking at Prag Leo, feeling somewhat dazed by the completely different operation method from before.
"It has a dual system, fully intelligent. In case of malfunctions or human injury in combat, it relies on full intelligence to start, while the auxiliary control system is for human operation. It's so complex that it can only complete a few simple commands, and then rely on the auxiliary control system for assistance," Prag Leo explained as he climbed up the ladder, giving Barrett Walk a rough understanding.
With Prag Leo's explanation, Barrett Walk had a general understanding. He was delighted that this piece of equipment hadn't appeared in three years. Perhaps he was the first to pilot this mech. He looked at the joystick in front of him, as well as the keyboard-like buttons, and two huge buttons beside them, one red and one green. Barrett Walk knew that green was to confirm, and red was to stop. Quickly entering the boot command, the glass-like screen in front of him lit up with various instructions. Walking, he pressed the green button, feeling the hum of the power system under his seat. Perhaps the power system was located here! He immediately moved the joystick, and the mech's legs moved.
"Kick!" Barrett Walk quickly manipulated the joystick, selecting a command. With the movement of the joystick in his hand, the mech forcefully kicked the leg of a table in front of it. The leg, as thick as an arm and made of steel, was instantly kicked off, and the tools on the table fell to the ground with a clatter.
Barrett Walk seemed to have found a delightful toy, continuously issuing various commands. Walking, backing up, jumping – a man's passion for controlling machinery is a climax that is difficult to understand, and for some, it even surpasses their interest in women.
But gradually, Barrett Walk began to feel the shortcomings of the mech, mainly the narrow space. In just a few minutes, he felt unbearably hot. It was only due to Barrett Walk's initial enthusiasm that he was able to endure for so long. He immediately shut down the mech, opened the glass cover, and a white steam gushed out. Barrett Walk felt as if he had just been through a sauna, drenched in sweat and red-faced. He couldn't tell if it was due to excitement or overheating. Stepping out of the control room, he continuously panted and fanned himself, a testament to Barrett Walk's robust physique. Otherwise, an ordinary person might not have been able to last a few minutes inside.
"The cooling system is too poor, and the operation is also quite clumsy. The command issuance is very stiff," Barrett Walk listed the shortcomings of the mech one by one. The scientists standing nearby showed no sign of anger, but listened attentively. After all, they didn't dare to easily attempt the mech. Benjamin Blake, on the other hand, looked at Barrett Walk with a strange expression, because he had been treated as a guinea pig. From the initial interest to the eventual fear, he couldn't last more than 5 minutes inside, and not even 10 minutes the first time. However, Barrett Walk had stayed inside for over half an hour, and when he came out, he was just sweaty, seemingly unfazed. Benjamin, on the other hand, had suffered severe dehydration and had to be administered fluids for several days to recover.
After Barrett Walk finished speaking, the scientists calmly contemplated, their faces occasionally showing signs of fanaticism. Benjamin, on the other hand, looked at Barrett Walk as if he were a monster, wanting to cut open his head to see what was inside.

"What's wrong?" Barrett Walk pushed the strangely colored Benjamin Blake.
Benjamin Blake awakened suddenly, and cast a scrutinizing gaze at Barrett Walk, as if he were a monstrous creature. This fellow had grown too quickly! Always capable of astounding feats, he had quickly identified flaws in the mechanized armor that others had taken a long time to uncover, and had even failed to notice some minor details. After all, everyone has a competitive spirit within, and he casually inquired, "You've only mentioned these flaws, do you have any good ideas for improving this exoskeleton?"
Upon hearing Benjamin Blake's words, the scientists all turned their attention to Barrett Walk. "Hmm, you have quite a few ideas, but all of this depends on being able to develop a power system," Barrett Walk said, stroking his smooth chin. He fell into deep thought, and as the others began to grow impatient, he finally spoke slowly.
"Isn't that obvious?" Barrett interrupted Benjamin, who was about to continue speaking, as if there was something in his mind that, once overcome, would lead to a solution. This was what was known as enlightenment.
"Shh, don't speak," the scientists said, recognizing Barrett's deep contemplation. While the other scientists were accustomed to such tedious work, Benjamin appeared anxious, clearly frustrated and eager to express his thoughts.
Barrett was in a strange state, much like he had been in the Dragon Scale Cave. It was a natural way, not a martial way, but both ultimately led to the same goal. Without external stimulation, he entered a state of deep focus, moving slowly around the exoskeleton and occasionally touching it. Even though the shell was hot to the touch, he seemed oblivious, completely absorbed.
Suddenly, the light flashed again, and Barrett snapped out of his trance, feeling the pain in his hand as he pulled it away. "I know what to do, come and see!" he exclaimed excitedly. As he continued to gesture wildly, the scientists, accustomed to his behavior, were unfazed, but compared to Barrett's current state, they would probably have been ecstatic.
"We've been in a misconception, why do we need a dual system? It's for the battlefield, to give soldiers an extra chance at life!" Barrett opened the back of the exoskeleton, revealing a complex network of circuitry. It wasn't that they couldn't implant these tiny control chips, it was just that the exoskeleton needed perfect details to function like a human, and these small chips couldn't support the almost infinite programs.
"Are you suggesting we abandon the fully intelligent system? That's nonsense! The auxiliary control system and the fully intelligent control system complement each other. Lacking one doesn't save much space, and without the fully intelligent control system, if the auxiliary system has even a minor issue, the exoskeleton becomes completely useless, just a pile of scrap metal, which is completely unsuitable for widespread deployment," Benjamin interrupted Barrett, clearly driven by his own competitive spirit, which had intensified due to Barrett's outstanding performance.
"Who says we absolutely need both systems? What if we just rely on human operation?" Barrett Walker's eyes sparkled as he thought of the images flashing in his mind. The excitement in his heart made him realize that this might be the true essence of the mecha.
"Hmph! If we don't have both, without the intelligent system, the mecha simply won't start," Benjamin Blake looked at the several old men smiling at their dispute, and suddenly felt more confident. He may not understand these things, but he knew that certain elements were indispensable.
"This is what they call a misconception, isn't it?" Barrett Walker said with a slight smile, his calm demeanor making him seem like the authority in this field. "Have you ever thought about it? Why is it called a mecha and not a robot? What is the difference between the two?"
Barrett Walker didn't continue, but instead looked at the scientists. He believed they had understood his words. Indeed, when he said this, they seemed to have a sudden realization, as if they had been stuck in a misconception all along. Perhaps this is why humans go looking for a key with another key in hand! Benjamin Blake didn't expect Barrett Walker to stop halfway through, feeling frustrated. What's the difference between this and teasing a woman's desire, only to suddenly stop? But seeing the enlightened look on the scientists' faces, he felt too embarrassed to ask, and just glared at Barrett Walker with a disgruntled expression. Does admitting that he's not smart make him feel so uneasy?
