160.Sweeping (Part 1)

As I gazed at the figure in white, he seemed to have stepped out of the ancient martial arts stories, with his flowing white robes and graceful movements. Each action exuded a delicate beauty, reminiscent of a dance. Yet beneath this elegance lay a deep sense of menace.

"Quite the show-off," Barrett Walker admired himself, draping a mosquito net over his body. The ethereal dance of the sheer fabric made him understand why ancient heroes enjoyed such ostentation. As he moved, the net swirled around him, obscuring both his own vision and that of onlookers. With a smooth motion, he reached out from the billowing net, causing his opponent to stumble back as if hit by a truck.

The white mosquito net continued to swirl around Barrett Walker's body as he picked up speed. The elite members of these factions appeared like a group of helpless infants facing a strong man, and the inevitable result was clear. As I watched everyone fall to the ground, leaving only the few leaders, Barrett Walker yawned, casually tossing the net over his shoulder. He then approached the remaining figures, his cape billowing like a flag, and with a touch of weariness, he remarked, "You really know how to pick your moments! If our military training hadn't ended early, I wouldn't have known you were planning to strike today!"

"Who are you?" the leaders asked cautiously, initially awed by Barrett Walker's appearance as a hero in white, but reconsidering as they noticed the mosquito net draped over him and the dry branches on his back. It all seemed rather antiquated. Some even thought Barrett Walker was a beggar with a mental illness. However, after witnessing his skills, their perception changed dramatically, and they carefully conversed with him.

"Goodness, are you trying to get me to reveal myself? Where's the mystery in that?" Barrett Walker finally understood why these strong individuals enjoyed showing off. The surprised looks in people's eyes gave a sense of satisfaction that was akin to countless little girls gazing at him, their eyes sparkling with admiration. Of course, these were not little girls, but grown men, and yet it gave him an even greater sense of accomplishment.

"You are the mysterious leader of the Fallen Gods Gang!" Finally, these men, not entirely unintelligent, recognized the enigmatic figure before them.

"Bingo! You got it right, but unfortunately, there's no prize," Barrett Walker said, patting the man's head smugly. His nonchalant tone led some to believe that this was a lunatic taunting a group of middle-aged men. Suddenly, Barrett Walker's expression changed, and he took on the demeanor of a solemn mafia boss, his face devoid of emotion as he said, "Do you plan to join the Fallen Gods Gang, or will you find your own way out?"

The abrupt change in Barrett Walker's jovial demeanor left them at a loss. Each one stood tall, as if ready for martyrdom, willing to face the despicable dagger. But they were not martyrs, nor did they have the resolve of martyrs. Instead, they grabbed Barrett Walker, and with a snap, the mediocre quality of the mosquito net left them feeling bewildered. Wasn't this how the minor characters on TV begged for mercy? Grasping the protagonist's clothes, they pleaded with sniffles and sobs. But which protagonist's clothing was of such poor quality?

"Let go! Let go of me! I borrowed this from the Five Oddities as a temporary measure," Barrett Walker's hands continued to strike the group of mafia bosses. Each tear of the fabric pained him deeply, though he was too embarrassed to admit that he had purchased it on the cheap from a street vendor.

"We agree to join the Fallen Gods Gang."

"We agree, you are a big shot!" The King of Counterfeit Goods in the east, Sarain Boding, noticed the emblem on the mosquito net, which he had distributed. All of it was second-hand merchandise, cleaned and resold at a local market. He was the first to agree, not expecting that this man would be using goods from his own inventory.

"We agree. Stop hitting us, and we'll obey you from now on!"

"Yes! I promised that from now on, only the Godslayers will rule the east side of the city." Listening to their oath of loyalty, Barrett Walk felt a sense of depression in his heart. How could he have agreed without even asserting his own authority yet! However, he was unaware that it was all due to his strange attire and the fake King Sarain Boding, who was afraid that Barrett Walk would uncover his deceit in the future. Being the first to set an example, it seemed that both luck and strength were on his side.

"Is everything okay?" Barrett Walk looked at Darcy Park, who stood expressionless beside him, observing the occasional excitement in his eyes.

"No, everything is fine. It's just another battle, and I can handle it!" Darcy Park said firmly, with the members of the Godslayers behind him nodding in agreement. Having witnessed a legendary battle, they not only had rewards to claim, but also bragging rights for the future.

"I bet you could handle even more battles in bed!" Barrett Walk jokingly thumped Darcy Park's chest, giving a sly look. "You handle the next steps! Whatever you decide to do, make sure you do it well. If the Godslayers have any major battles in the future, don't hesitate to find me!"

"Got it! But I might need your help with something," Darcy Park hesitantly replied.

"Where to?" Barrett Walk didn't mince words.

"The Imperial Power! I need to clear the area," Darcy Park informed the reserve team, whose strength was almost on par with his. Their mission was to sweep through and occupy the entire eastern part of the city, like a surgical strike.

"Alright! You take care of these people! It's up to your abilities to ensure their true loyalty," Barrett Walk said, then turned and left. He walked with purposeful speed, creating an aura of mystery and intrigue, but in reality, he just needed to find a place to take care of business.

Jack and Bill entered Gary's University, where the military training was not strict, allowing them plenty of free time to look for work. However, they were not prepared for Darcy Park's extensive recruitment of civilians. Although they were not affiliated with any gang, having grown up in the border area, they possessed a fierce resilience and, after joining the Godslayers, became promising and morally upright members of the underworld. They both eventually became leaders within the reserve team, thanks to their bravery and quick thinking during several intense battles.

Tonight, Darcy Park led a large group into battle, and the moment Jack and Bill received the news of victory, they quickly set out to raid the territories of rival factions. If they lost, the two men would hide with their people, ready to rise again. Darcy Park's strategy was well-planned, leaving him with no worries as he engaged in battle with these people.

"Here is our Imperial Power, let's begin from here!" Thinking about their past glory, the reserve members of the Godslayers were filled with excitement. They were not only reclaiming lost territories after a great victory but also expanding their domain. They were ecstatic.

"Anyone who doesn't matter, get out of here!" Bill brandished a large machete as he charged through the door, scaring the guards into hiding, their long hair falling over their fierce eyes.

Seeing Bill's attitude, Jack was worried that his deliberately stylish wig might fall off, and lightly tapped his shoulder. "Enough with the show, there aren't many people left now."

Clearly, the recent battles had left the place feeling desolate, despite the previous bustling atmosphere. But from today onwards, everything would turn around. Jack waved his hand at the remaining men, indicating that they didn't need to get involved. Soon, the men behind him rushed forward, smashing and destroying everything in sight.

"That's enough, once they're taken care of, we can move on," Jack knew that this place was insignificant to them. Everyone had already regrouped and fortified their headquarters, so there was no difficulty. After dealing with these people, he led his group to the next location, where the real action awaited them!
