181.Competition (Part 2)

The mountains collapsed! Within the inner courtyard of the War God Academy, several vast mountains sank from all sides, as if they had been flattened by a giant hand from the sky. With a resounding boom, the mountains collapsed, but instead of stopping, massive steel machines rose up, towering like aircraft carrier platforms at sea, each with menacing gun barrels aimed at them, resembling prehistoric beasts with gaping maws.

The scene was so awe-inspiring, with mountains of steel and rivers of thick gun barrels. When these elements came together, it was just the tip of the iceberg. The quiet sinking of the surrounding mountains was truly terrifying.

At this moment, no one could comprehend the feelings of the leaders of the Federation. This was blatant bullying! The entire technological prowess of the Federation seemed like a mere infant posturing in front of a giant. The latest model of armed helicopters in the sky was no match for these colossal steel monsters, and the armored vehicles surrounding the inner courtyard of the War God Academy were nothing more than ants on someone else's body.

As they looked at the largest cannon descending from the sky, the leaders of the Federation were drenched in cold sweat. They hadn't expected the War God Academy to possess such means! It was simply unjustifiable. So the three chief speakers were enraged, the nine executive directors were enraged, and the generals and marshals of the major defense zones were enraged.

"What are you trying to accomplish? Bullying us?"

"You are blatantly rebelling, rebelling against all of humanity. Are you even human? Do you acknowledge the Human Federation? Are you defying fate?"

"Drop your weapons, hand over these war machines to the nation, and all past grievances will be forgiven."

When the footsteps of war approached, the oppressors of the righteous realized what fear truly meant. They gave up oppression, but chose shameless threats because they arrogantly believed they had that right, forgetting that this right was granted by the righteous.

Obviously, the people of the War God Academy were not righteous. They would not be intimidated by so-called threats. Singh Phoenix also stepped forward, looking at them with a cold smile. "Maybe fifteen years ago, you made efforts to save humanity, so humanity granted you the right. But that doesn't mean you can stand above everyone else. Think about what you were like at first, a group of ragtag rebels. And now, look at you. Fine wine, beautiful women, sumptuous food, luxury homes, extravagant cars, and empty boasts. Look at the city where, apart from being able to show off their status, which of the slums has the most people? Why do you have the right to decide others' lives? They are also human. The excuse of being the nation's weapon is laughable. But have they shown it to the outside world? Have they gained an inch of land, or made any real contributions? All I see is the knives in the hands of the robbers getting sharper, and the doors of the people getting thinner."

"They are all a bunch of sheep, so the shepherd can boast about how lush the pasture is and how fat and docile the sheep's wool is!" Singh Phoenix's words were cutting, leaving these people feeling deeply wounded.

"Hmph! Audacious!" The three chief speakers wanted to argue that they were not ragtag rebels, but they couldn't be bothered. Who would be poor for a lifetime? The next generation would always be wealthy, and if not, there was the generation after that. In any case, it was endless. Wealth and status were the same way.

"I am quite audacious. Then use your power to arrest me!" Singh Phoenix had spoken so many words, and in a way, it eased some of the pent-up frustration. He even made a rare joke. "Hoisting the tiger's skin as a banner, isn't our tiger skin also quite good?"

"Do you know what you're up against? You're rebelling against all of humanity! Even if you wipe us out, you'll forever be nailed to the pillar of shame, unable to wash away the stench of your disgrace!" Upon hearing Singh Phoenix's mockery, Matthew Green calmly spoke.

"What if there were no humans left!" One person in the War God Academy said irritably.

"Then you will face condemnation from your own conscience." Someone in the group of Federation officials couldn't help but mock.

"What if we were also gone!" The people of the Federation fell silent. Could they really be gone?

"Do you not have any consciousness at all? We are not doing this for ourselves, but for the entire human race!" At last, the three chief speakers had to come forward. If they couldn't be tough, they'd have to be soft. In any case, the big hat was in their hands, and they could wear it as they pleased.

"I do not wish to engage in verbal sparring with you bureaucrats. Let it be what it is! If you want to resort to force, then we will confront it head-on. Otherwise, you can retreat. We do not want to engage in bloodshed." Ang Lee had never been as angry as he was today, believing that righteousness would always prevail. They were soldiers, purer soldiers than these people. It was not that they were foolish, but rather that they were naive. They had their own beliefs, not mere tools and slaves of the bureaucracy. It was always a matter of two-facedness, one side with a grand facade and the other a den of thieves and harlots behind the scenes.

"Do you dare to resort to bloodshed?" Wayne Smith said disdainfully. He was in a precarious position in this situation, and the small fry could speak without restraint. They, who were usually timid, were insulted by the teachers today. But there were generals and marshals above them, and they couldn't steal their thunder. Nevertheless, he no longer had as much contempt, and said with a scornful smile.

"You can try." Ang Lee smiled lightly, as if this were the funniest joke he had ever heard. Suddenly, he snapped his fingers, as if the huge steel monsters had heard his command and began to operate with a rumble.

"Silence does not make anyone think you are dumb!" The doves in the executive office had grown to hate the hawkish Wayne Smith. Apart from stirring up trouble, these people seemed to have accomplished nothing. Originally, the muzzles of these steel machines were aimed at them, and the legs of many officials were already starting to tremble. Now, the sound of shells being loaded made them even more afraid, and they didn't want to continue this stalemate.

"Stop, do you not know how serious the charge of murdering federal officials is?" At this point, both the radicals and the moderates could no longer remain calm. What use was dignity if it couldn't keep them safe, if it couldn't let them continue to live in luxury and act arrogantly? Nothing else mattered; their lives were the most important. Suddenly, a large group of federal officials spoke up in a tumult.

"Hmph! You still want to preserve your last shred of dignity." Among the people begging for mercy, many were still making ridiculous threats. He had no choice but to put an end to this, otherwise they would think that the War God Academy was easy to bully, that the War God Academy could only exist outside the bureaucratic system because of the prestige of the academies that had previously come out of it.

This group of people were dumbfounded, witnessing the most incredible thing they had ever seen in their lives. How could someone dare to open fire on them? But when Ang Lee raised his hand with strength and determination, the whole world fell silent, and everyone's gaze was fixed on the barrel of the cannon in front of them.

Buzz! A terrifying chill ran from the soles of their feet through their entire bodies. Watching the barrel shake violently, white steam kept pouring out from the huge cannon's muzzle. Although they didn't know what kind of high-tech it was, they were not fools and knew that this was a prelude to firing.

Escape! They quickly fled without any dignity, not even giving any orders to the soldiers in the armored vehicles. Boom! The cannon fired, but it wasn't an exploding bomb; it was a stream of fire dragons. The fire dragons appeared to be a strange, colorless form, and as they passed, those who wanted to retaliate were instantly evaporated by the high temperature, as if they were in a purgatory of sorts.

As the flames truly engulfed them, the chief speakers and the executive officers were truly dumbfounded. The faint hope in their hearts was completely extinguished. They were very fast at retreating, and looking at the steel behemoth in front of them, they felt a sense of powerlessness.

"To mobilize the entire federal army to besiege them is simply too arrogant."

"Yes! Mobilize the entire federal army to see these War God Academy people. This is rebellion! It's simply rebellion! I want to report to the entire federation and nail the people of the War God Academy to the pillar of shame."

Most of the people who escaped never thought about how they managed to escape, and after escaping, they never thought much about the soldiers they abandoned. They could have given an order: resist or retreat, but they left them like that.

"Enough, all of you be silent! Do you find it not embarrassing enough?" The three presiding officers erupted almost simultaneously, turning around to harshly reprimand. This was unprecedented, as their usual demeanor exuded an air of inscrutability and unyielding authority, never displaying their emotions on their faces. Clearly, this time they were also provoked by the shamelessness of these officials.
