Rebirth: The Resolute Conquest
148.Peeping in the shower

148.Peeping in the shower

As Benjamin Black looked at the suddenly emerging shelf from the ground, he returned his weapons, firearms, and other belongings to their original positions. Then, he dragged the mutated tiger towards the cafeteria, and only then did everyone really believe that it was time to disband. They all hung up the things around them and saw their names suddenly appear on the cabinets, finally realizing the high-tech nature of this place.

As the crowd dispersed with a rustling sound, many people did not leave but lay on the ground, exhausted! They were simply too tired to move even a bit. Some people who still had some energy clenched their lips and remained silent. Some of the clean-loving girls went back to their dorm rooms, where their living conditions were slightly better than the boys', as they had showers.

Barrett Walk, however, did not return to the dormitory. He urgently needed a place to properly assess his physical condition. He walked towards the campus, seeing a small river not far from there, perfect for washing off the sweat.

This military base in the mountain valley appeared to consist of a series of buildings and large playgrounds on the surface. However, Barrett Walk knew that beneath these playgrounds were many secrets, and there were no walls enclosing them. He guessed that there were fortresses everywhere underground! Walking down a gravel path, it was clear that many people passed by here frequently. Seeing the lush woods and various wildflowers and grasses after leaving the playground, the absence of the oppressive concrete buildings unintentionally lifted his spirits.

Continuing down the path into the valley, listening to the clear flowing water nearby, the melodious sounds of nature further calmed Barrett Walk's mood. He jumped off a large bare rock and came across a small river, the water was crystal clear, and a secluded pool reflected a greenish glow. Looking at the water, he dipped his clothes and then went into the secluded pool. As soon as he touched the water, the piercing cold penetrated his bones, and, lost in thought, he fell in, as the sun in the sky was not to be trifled with.

After swimming in the secluded pool for a while, Barrett Walk gradually got used to the bone-chilling cold. He stood up from the pool, listened, and heard some laughter and playfulness not far away. Barrett Walk was slightly excited, as he had read about such scenes in many novels, but he had never encountered it in this post-apocalyptic world! He put on his underwear and swam upstream.

Barrett Walk hid in a thicket of grass, and from a distance, he saw an old man sitting under a big tree, dozing on a small stool with a few fishing rods in front of him. Behind him was a deep pool, with a waterfall roaring down, the water quality much better than downstream. Barrett Walk could vaguely see heads popping out of the deep pool from time to time and felt disgusted. These shameless young women and the old man reminded him of an old monster and his female assistant.

"These days, there are still such things happening. Oh, how unbearable this is for me!" Barrett Walk thought to himself, and suddenly, the sense of guilt from peeping decreased a lot. He quietly climbed up the hill to get a closer look and see what these women really looked like.

At a glance, he could see that the pool was very deep, and three women were frolicking in the water, showing off their excellent swimming skills. They were like beautiful mermaids, and even Barrett Walk, who was confident in his genius, would probably pale in comparison to them.

Hiding in the woods of the mountain valley, Barrett Walk could not clearly see the faces of these three women, but he felt that their skin was very fair. He immediately dismissed any inappropriate thoughts, as it was their backs he saw! Under such a large sun, their smooth and fair skin was truly unusual. Could they be supernatural beings? Barrett Walk silently made up his mind to investigate thoroughly and approached the deep pool with a clear conscience.

Hiding behind a large stone in the forest, Barrett Walk stretched out his head, his eyes shining as he gazed at the deep pool with an exploratory look that was fiery and all-consuming. He saw three fiery figures in the deep pool, their pale backs giving off a sense of unapproachable beauty. But the more he couldn't see, the more he wanted to see. Perhaps this was the inherent flaw of human nature. Barrett Walk cautiously leaned out from the edge of the stone, carefully extending his head towards the deep pool. His heart was racing, feeling more exhilarated than he did on the battlefield.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Suddenly, a stone fell into the deep pool with a muffled sound, but the laughing women didn't hear it. They continued to frolic and dive underwater.

The old man suddenly opened her eyes, which were as bright as the sun. She grabbed the fishing rod in front of her and swung it out, the fishing line making a sharp sound as it caught Barrett Walk's foot, causing him to fall to the ground. The old woman stood up, angrily demanding to know who had dared to intrude. Her voice was nothing like that of an elderly person, but rather, it was as powerful as a thundering bell or a fierce tiger.

Barrett Walk felt embarrassed, having been caught in the act without having seen anything substantial. He stood up in a disheveled state, wearing only his underwear, and looked at the old woman with a helpless expression. Suddenly, he looked behind the old woman with a frightened expression and said, "Monster."

"Cut the nonsense and tell me who you are and why you are here," the old woman bellowed, her voice echoing through the mountains. Barrett Walk suspected that the old woman had either eaten dynamite or used her powerful voice as a weapon since she was a child.

Barrett Walk knew that the old woman was no ordinary person. Having been caught red-handed, he could only laugh foolishly, trying to bluff his way through.

The three women had hidden themselves completely underwater, only showing their heads above the water. They realized that their hair colors were all different. Suddenly, one of the women said, "Ms. Mabel! Make him turn his head."

As Barrett Walk listened to the voice, instead of turning his head, he turned towards the deep pool and exclaimed, "Rose! What are you doing here?"

"I told you to turn your head!" The old woman pulled the fishing rod, causing Barrett Walk to fall backwards.

Barrett Walk felt bitter, never expecting to meet Rose here. He regretted shouting out her name, as it would be difficult to face her in the future. The three women in the deep pool looked at each other, clearly recognizing Barrett Walk as someone familiar, as they were all prominent figures from the Academy of War Gods. One was Rose Rockefeller, another was Glenna, and the third was Sing Phoenix. It was Sing Phoenix who broke the deadlock, being the most straightforward. She laughed heartily and said, "Little brother, what are you doing here?"

Upon hearing this voice, Barrett Walk knew that it was the witch he had encountered in the swimming pool. He also realized her true identity: the daughter of the headmaster, Danus Leo, and the head of the School of Occultism. He hesitated to recall the name of the other person, probably his own academic dean, Glenna. He regretted his curiosity to investigate the monster. Curiosity killed the cat, and now his reputation was tarnished. Barrett Walk didn't want to get up, so he pretended to be faint.

After a while, a faint voice sounded as the three women and the old woman gathered around Barrett Walk, who was lying on the ground with a large stone pressing on the back of his head, causing them to think he had a concussion.

The old woman's voice was rough as she lifted Barrett Walk's eyelids and saw only the whites of his eyes. She said solemnly, "This kid seems to have passed out. Should I shout in his ear to wake him up?"

Glenna's voice is melodic, resonating like a haunting orchid, yet exuding a seductive allure akin to a rose. Paired with her stunning visage, she appears both saintly and tantalizing. Unbeknownst to others, one might mistake her for a delicate flower with a hint of allure. Her voice, slightly chilly, pronounces, "Such unruly conduct from a student. I suggest expulsion."

"Do you not notice the frailty of his body?" Singh Phoenix looks at Barrett Walker's physique. Having just advanced, Barrett Walker has depleted everything within him, perhaps the so-called essence stored within. Sporting a faint smile, Singh Phoenix pats Barrett Walker's chest and cheerfully remarks, "But his chest is surprisingly sturdy, isn't it?"

"Enough, you lascivious woman! You seem rather pleased that he looked at us, don't you? We are all mothers, yet you display such shamelessness!" Ross looks at Singh Phoenix with disdain. The three emerge from a bath, their bodies glistening with a certain allure, especially when Ross reaches out to touch Singh Phoenix's chest, and the two engage in playful banter.

The old woman taps her forehead and grumpily says, "We came to discuss how to resolve this issue, and look at you..."

"How else can we resolve it? Just expel him outright," Glenna says irritably, pondering whether she can preserve her purity, having never been seen by a man other than her father.

"Forget it. He probably didn't see anything anyway," Ross says, feeling somewhat conflicted.

"Hmph! Are you developing feelings for him? Absolutely not! Let him serve as our male slave," Singh Phoenix remains unyielding, her words bold and relentless, a drastic turn that leaves everyone stunned and uncertain.
