The hallway was so much darker than the main area. At the end of the hallway was a faded red door, plastered with dozens of deep scratch marks. You stared at it, trying to make something out of the marks. "Mother," You mumbled.

"Here, this is my room. This is the safest place for you in this house—and the forest. She can't get in here," Lone man said as he pointed to the bright blue door next to him.
