You watched Lone man through the broken church windows as he hopped from tree shadow to tree shadow. A soft, dark mist followed his body as he moved. His body itself was a solid black color; you could tell that whenever you saw his hands or whenever you stared directly at him. Surrounding him was some sort of dark mist.

"Come back safely," you whispered softly, though you knew he wouldn't hear you.
The thought of being alone in this place didn't hit you until you couldn't see Lone man anymore. It was a punch in the gut. You sat on the floor beside the altar table, hugging your knees, as you clutched the map he had given you in one hand.
You fell asleep.
