Setting foot on the main road didn't make you feel any better; it actually made you feel worse. Your head was throbbing violently; you had to stop multiple times just to get a grip on yourself. It almost felt like you were still in the forest—the constant underlying fear that something wasn't right sat in your gut like an ominous entity.

As you got near to the town, you realized that something was terribly wrong. People were scattered in the streets; some were running, some were driving recklessly.

"What's happening?" you muttered to yourself.

A girl bumped into you; she looked so worried. "What are you doing just standing there? Move!"

"Can you please tell me what's happening?" You asked her.

She tilted her baseball cap to get a good look at you and said, "Are you living under the rock? The old people from the farthest area of the town all dropped dead like flies. It must be some kind of virus or something!" and with that she ran away.
