You left the attic through another door. Lone man said that the staircase outside will land directly in the hallway, where the bedrooms are. You could already hear the loud tapping noises as soon as you exited the attic. It was almost deafening, as if his brother was just right behind you dancing.

The complete second of silence sent a chill down your spine. Their voices are coming from the blue door. It's definitely Lone man's brother and mother.
