Every step on their porch made an awful creak. You knocked on the door, half-thinking that this was a terrible idea and another thinking that this was exactly what Kristina needed.

After a couple of minutes of waiting, knocking, and calling out Kristina's name, you were finally going to give up when you heard a very small gasp from the other side of the door. It was a faint, sharp gasp followed by a thud.
"Kristina?" You knocked in intervals so quick. You gave up on the door and tried peeking through the windows. Through a small crack where two curtains meet, you saw Kristina lying on the floor, blood oozing from her chest, creating a pool of blood beneath her, and a ghastly expression on her face.
