You slid Lucian’s bedroom window open and went inside. You immediately felt the warmth of his room; however, it was not enough to calm you down. You started pacing the small room while rubbing your shoulders.
“Please be safe, Lone man,” you muttered to yourself.
The sky lit up several times as ground-shattering thunderclaps resonated all around you. A few minutes later, rain poured. It started as nothing more than a drizzle until it became something you'd never experienced before. You pressed your palm to your ear as extreme, heavy rain started to pour.

You made your way to the window, hoping that you could see something. A lightning struck far away, illuminating the forest for a brief second, and there you saw the once luscious trees have now decayed into nothing but rotting skeletons; even the ground was absent of any green.
You stepped away from the window, turned around, and heard a ringing noise as if someone had turned their television to a dead channel. Not more than three seconds after that, a blinding white light illuminated your surroundings.
