You tried to follow Atlas, but Lucian stood between you and the staircase. Although you can only see his eyes, you can tell that he’s worried as well. Behind him, Atlas took each step carefully.
“Maybe there’s another way,” you muttered.
Lucian shook his head. “There’s no other way, sadly.”
When Atlas disappeared from your view, you kept your ears open for any unusual noises. Minutes passed by, and you didn’t hear anything out of the ordinary other than the low groanings of the shadow people at the top of the hill.

You and Lucian sat on a stone. His eyes were straight ahead, staring blankly at the church a few meters away.
“Will you return to normal once everything’s solved?" You asked him.
Lucian looked at you; his glowing eyes were wide, and then he looked away. "I honestly don’t want to think about it. I don’t want to put my hopes up.”
Silence enveloped the two of you. After almost an hour, you heard footsteps coming from the staircase.
