Chapter 85: Skill Teaching 1

Funmi and Mira came to where the lobby and called them and Bola to a meeting room, Medara stayed behind in the lobby. When they entered, they sat on the chairs and Mira said “This is Funmi, I’ve told you a lot about her” she then introduced the teens and Bola to Funmi.

She continued “We have a proposal. We want to start a school for teaching people our skills. I know from the perspective of many in the sanctuary, skills might look like a gold mine that one can build an empire on but I doubt such empires would last.

There is a person who acquired the same skill as you guys and he is making a company out of it. With you guys here now it shows that anyone can acquire the skills we learnt through our ordeals by going through their own similar ordeals. Especially with the amount of Rank 4s and Rank 3s skyrocketing, many people will discover skills. If those people discover our techniques and skills and offered to teach it to people at a subsidized price we will lose a lot, not just en-code but also our reputation.

So I propose we teach our skills at the most subsidized price, it will get us a good amount of en-codes and would also help us learn more about the skill while improving the strength of the sanctuary. We are currently the best at our skills so even if someone else gets the same skill we will still be the most sought after teachers. So what do you say?”

Gbenga nodded and said “It’s a great idea, we were already thinking of teaching our friend. But I have to say, learning aura required a lot of dangerous situations so I don’t know if people would trust us enough and allow us to put them in such situations. And Bella’s ability is completely natural for her, she didn’t have to go through anything to learn it”

Funmi said “That’s alright, I also didn’t know how to teach my skill when I wanted to teach my students, but there’s a guy called Deji who helped me understand the skill and how to teach it after he observed it, I think he can help you if you make a deal with him”.

Bella asked “How was he able to do that?” Funmi answered “He’s a High Human with superior intelligence, so it’s expected that he would be able to easily understand things no one can easily understand. My deal with him was that I would teach 3 people that he choose the skill”

Bella felt stupid ‘He was able to decipher how the skills worked but I can’t even understand how aura works even with my naturally high intelligence. I’m so stupid’. Bella looked at Gbenga she wanted to ask him if she could get a chance to decipher how aura skills worked but Gbenga said “No, we all know you’re not that smart, your intelligence gives you better things than just good reasoning, you can read minds. I bet he can’t do that”.

Although she couldn’t actually read minds Gbenga’s exaggerated opinion of her warmed her heart. Funmi was confused and said “She can read minds?” and Mira cleared up the misunderstanding telling Funmi that it was only limited to people’s emotions.

The group agreed on the price of their lessons and various other details. Since they were going to be giving out their hard earned skills they were going to make Jola pay for the cost of the process since they were doing something ‘Philanthropic’.

They immediately went to the sanctuary office and asked for contact with Deji, Medara returned home. They were given access to his office and when they got there they found him in his worst mood.

This time of the week was when he always tried to unravel the mysteries of the psychic technology of Flash Thunder. This time of the week was when he always failed miserably and got frustrated.

If alcohol could make High Humans drunk, Deji would have become a drunkard by now. When they saw him in his office his hear was disheveled, his clothes were torn, he had bruises on his body and his eyes were focusing on something in the distance, beyond his offices wall, in anger. They had to get Teni to carry him out of his lab whenever his time of researching the technology was over. He always fought for more time with the weapon, it was pointless though as he always lost.

Funmi shouted “What happened to you?!” Deji said “That stupid Teni, this stupid place, they won’t let me do my research in peace. Their always telling me ‘You have more important things to do than that. You have more successful projects that you haven’t finished’. Stupid, stupid, stupid”

Funmi said “What are you trying to research?” Deji’s eyes lit up with joy at Funmi’s curiosity and Funmi regretted asking. He went on a rant about how a part of the weapon was made from brain matter and how he had been trying to understand the workings.

Mira said “Oh, so you still haven’t cracked how to make psychic weapons like mine” Mira looked at Bella, pointed at her and said “She can use psychic energy, maybe she can help you solve your problem?”

Deji looked at Bella, and Bella shrunk away, she could feel his desperation, she didn’t want him putting all his hopes on her, but she sensed that he never did. He just wanted to use her ability as an excuse to continue his research; she could feel him conniving. Bella got angry and said “Show me the weapon. If it has psychic energy I should be able to sense it”

Deji jumped up from his chair filled with joy and escorted them to his lab. Bella sent a psychic message about Deji’s intentions to Mira and her group. Mira smiled and said “Deji, can you do each one of us a small favor for this service?” Deji was too happy to care what their request could entail, he immediately said “yes”.
