The two girls swiftly ran toward the SSC, jumping on from building to building. The previous night they had walked like normal people because Funmi didn’t want her normal clothes to tear due to her speed.
People who could see the details of Mira’s armor as she ran, often gave a second glance but couldn’t get to scan the Rank of her equipment before she was gone, and since scanning for the Rank of equipment required a closer view, they couldn’t gleam any information.
Those who saw Mira’s equipment at the hotel and scanned it had gone to Jola’s office; they wanted to get their own. They didn’t ask Mira where she got it since the only source of high quality equipment was Jola’s company.
When they got to the SSC they had to slow down and people could again scan the Rank of the unique armor that Mira was wearing. They were all shocked by the Rank that they saw. Rank 4s and Rank 5s used Rank 4 armor because processing Rank 5 armor cost a lot of time, and power.
The only Rank 5 armor available was Jola’s armor; the other armors hadn’t been budgeted. Jola’s armor was strong but it was poorly done, it was unfinished.
Making the armor was only possible because it was made from the corpse of a Rank 5 humanoid undead not a monster, so short cuts could be taken, but even now Jola’s armor was still being improved on so that it could have the same quality as Rank 4 armor.
But here was a Rank 5 armor that surpassed what they could even make with simple metal, it was outstanding. When the girls got to the SSC they quickly went to the private room that the team was in as various rankers went to disturb the poor Jola.
When the group members saw the Mira they, like everyone, were shocked. Adura, Rashid and Theo were wearing full plate armor made of monster exoskeleton and bone, David was wearing similar armor to Funmi.
Adura put the lines together and realized that Mira’s ‘protector’ was probably the one who made the armor, judging by the body suit she had worn. Fashion was not of importance to the sanctuary so the only clothes people bothered to make were rags that worked, when she saw the body suit she assumed it was made with a lot of effort as a gift for Mira and called her protector her boyfriend, but seeing the armor she now knew that it was just the tip of the iceberg.

Before she could say anything Rashid spoke, he said “Where did you get that?” Mira sat down and explained to everyone that her protector was also her master and that he made all her gear, she told them about her meeting with Jola and the trade between them.
Understanding came upon them and Rashid summarized “So your protector, now you master, can make ethereal quality weapons and armor and can also add energy skills to them. You sold the weapon that Jola is currently practicing with and now you’re here wearing better armor than what the sanctuary can make in the near future. Your master also refuses to meet with people or trade and you are not allowed to reveal his location or his identity” Mira nodded.
The group was silent, to them it was like watching a series and loving the first season so much and yet being unable to continue watching the series because the author quit or went on a long hiatus. (Yes, I am throwing shade at Yoshihiro Togashi (Hunter X Hunter’s manga author)).
Adura said “When this information gets out, and it will get out because Jola probably can’t keep you trade a secret anymore, you’ll have a lot of people disturbing you. I also don’t think that the campaign will happen until at least all the Rank 4s and some Rank 3s have skilled weapons, I just don’t see the Rank 4s risking their life when Jola has so much to offer”
The group members nodded in agreement. Mira asked “How many Rank 4s are there?” Adura answered “Adding you we are 49 in number and before you ask, there are 7 Rank 5s. 4 of the Rank 5s work for Jola, who is also a Rank 5”.
Mira asked “So, what do we have to do for the raid. Or will that be canceled too?” Adura shook her head and said “It will happen, maybe a little later than usual but it will happen. Since you don’t know how raids work I’ll explain.
This is a Rank 2 raid, which means that it is mostly for Rank 1s to get enough en-code to evolve and for Rank 2s to get en-code, the Rank 1 and 2s will kill the undead while we watch over them.
While they’re fighting it is our duty to protect individuals if we see someone in danger. The undead won’t sit still and the minds will notice our presence and try to ambush the lower Ranks, it is very unlikely that a Rank 5 undead will show up since the undead too are trying to get en-code, they will send a force that they feel is just enough to defeat the threat.
There are Rank 3s with us that will protect the Rank 1 and 2s if Rank 3 undead arrive. The aim of a raid is to keep the fight going for as long as possible, we will be working with two other Rank 4 teams on this. When a Rank 4 or higher undead arrives we Rank 4s are to secure the retreat of the lower Ranks. Command of this raid wasn’t given to our team”
Adura held a radio phone in her hand and shook it and said “We’ll leave when the commander of the raid, Deji, calls. Which I think won’t be anytime soon, so for now we wait, do whatever you want in the mean time”
The group members didn’t leave the room; they instead stayed and asked Mira about the skills of her armor.
