The Nemesis Prodigy Maker was joyful, it felt so confident. The mutation granted it the ability to give all its children one general skill apart from the skills they had at birth. The mutation also allowed it to create children of the same Rank as itself, although the children were less obedient than the lower Rank ones and cost a steep amount of corpses, the power they had made up for it.
The Paragons were similar to the Prodigies except they were one feet taller, had thicker muscles and exoskeleton and they didn’t ride horses.
The Magicians were like the Geniuses, they could do magic, as their name suggests, but they could do it to a greater extent and with more variety and also their energy zones were way bigger covering the whole army when full extended. Their bodies were also lean like a genius’s, it would be impossible to differentiate them from a genius if one couldn’t sense energy.
The Centaurs were as their name described Centaurs. They had low intelligence but made up with their amazing speed, agility and instinctive coordinated battle style. They had exoskeletons, and they all wielded long weapons.
The Endpoints were a surprise that the Prodigy Maker had for the threats. While the other monsters were the same as the one the raid’s Rank 4s had met.
All the undead had smooth exoskeletons with large spikes at certain locations that didn’t hinder movement while posing a threat to those who were careless around them. All their armor was black and red in color.
The Nemesis Prodigy Maker was a 13 foot tall monster that resembled a cactus, with a black body and short red tentacles for spikes.
…
Jola walked forward ahead of the army with the other Rank 5s, he had begun charging Flash Thunder the moment he saw the horde. The Rank 5 Paragons also began walking toward them leaving the Magicians behind.
The Rank 5 High Humans were Jola an attacker formally a ranger, Anita attacker, Demola defender and strategist, Teni attacker, Kore defender; these were the Rank 5s that worked for Jola. The other Rank 5s were Mistura ranger and Samad Balance breaker.
The Paragons held weapons: 2 held glaives, 3 held great swords and 3 held lances.
As if they planned it the walk of the Rank 5 undead and humans simultaneously became a brisk walk, then a jog, and then a run. When they got in range the Rank 5 High Humans, apart from Jola, each released a medium sized aura slash toward the Paragons.
The Paragon’s with the lances ran in front of the other and stabbed their lances on the ground. The lances expanded sideways and shielded the rest from the attack. But that was just a greeting.

When the Rank 5 monsters and humans were 5 meters from each other the red parts of their exoskeleton and body began to shine, Jola stopped running and got into a stance. Flash thunder wasn’t fully charged but he didn’t always need it at that power and didn’t have the time to wait. There were 8 Paragons and 7 High Humans; he had to kill a paragon while they were unaware of how Flash Thunder worked to balance the numbers.
They were currently outside the energy zone of the Magicians and Genius’s so this was the perfect opportunity.
Jola unsheathed the katana and disappeared. With a flash of yellow lightening and a boom of thunder the Lightening iai attack was carried out.
Jola was holding the katana, the tip facing the undead army, behind a Paragon who held a lance, it had been hit by the lightening and was still shocking as his upper body above his waist fell to the ground, crisp.
The Paragons again did something that Jola had never seen undead do. They turned their heads back and looked at the body of their dead comrade. This slip up did not go unpunished as the Rank 5s attacked them without pause.
The Paragons successfully blocked the attacks, except one who had a javelin in poking out of its abdomen; it was a Paragon with a great sword. Mistura had done a running throw, the attack was very fast and powerful and it was close range, at least for High Humans it was. The javelin had gone through the abdomen and come out through its back. Mistura smiled and readied another javelin throw.
The army of Rank 4s and 3s ran behind the Rank 5s of their respective races. The job of the Rank 4s was already laid out; kill the Magicians and Geniuses first. The Prodigies ran out with the Geniuses in their midst and the Magicians were behind, with the Rank 3s.
The undead were not proficient in war as this was their first time fighting with dedicated long range fighters. ‘They should have let us approach while attacking our back from a long range with the Magicians and Geniuses. They should have set up a wall of low Ranks with the dedicated long rangers behind, they’re still lacking, I hate to imagine what it would be like if they were not this stupid’ Deji thought.
Before the Rank 4s clashed with the Prodigies and Geniuses they let out a flurry of aura slashes which was blocked by the Geniuses and the Magicians. Adura received a message from Deji on her radio phone, she relayed the message to her group “We are to attack the Geniuses, the other teams will attack the Prodigies, Fox, Legion and Retribution are attacking Genius’s of their own, the first two teams that deal with their Genius can attack the Magicians”
The team members nodded in affirmation and they proceeded toward the Genius that was near them, the Genius was protected by Prodigies that were being charged by 2 Rank 4 teams, which had their weapons aura blade activated.
Theo said “Jump over them, do long range attacks on the Genius”. The Prodigies pointed their weapons forward and they grew 2 meters longer. The aura blades of the two teams in front of Pentagon clashed with the elongated weapons of the Prodigies, parrying them.
The battle of Rank 4s began and Pentagon jumped over the team that was in front of them and rain aura slashes at the Genius. The Magicians protected the Geniuses while the Geniuses shielded the Prodigies.
Mira and almost every other Rank 4 who saw their formation thought ‘With the Magicians protecting the Rank 4 and 3s the Paragons are defenseless. That means it’s up to the Rank 5 battle to decide the course of this war…’
‘…Is what they think. I’m going to kill a Rank 5. I’m the MVP! If I kill a Rank 5 the battle will tilt in our favor more than it already is’ Funmi thought with a mischievous smile.
