Jade sunk into the dark waters but the darkness didn’t scare him, it was the prospect of facing the monster that had haunted his dreams. He released the size manipulating spell he used to shrink himself and expanded to his original height of 13 meters.
His Cosmic Energy brought him news of the happenings in the environment. Piecing the information together Jade had a blurry view of what was happening to the Infant Ocean Master and why it didn’t attack him.
Jade sensed the soul of the Infant Ocean Master, it was the same soul that had gripped him back then, he knew it. His Cosmic Energy showed its form to him, it was a black ball with a large mouth that almost split it into two when it opened it. The mouth contained many rows of long and sharp green teeth, the stuff of nightmares. Many thin tentacles extended from its bolus body ending in sharp green points as thin as a syringe. The ball that made up the center of its body had a 17 meter diameter. Its extended tentacles reached various lengths between 12 and 50 meters.
It was busy fighting another monster. The other monster was a large 100 meter long serpent covered in extremely small and tightly packed glossy blue scales. It had four short arms ending in clawed webbed feet. It had the tail of an eel and swam extremely fast in the waters, attacking the Infant Ocean Master with plasma.
As Jade drew closer a clearer picture of the battle was sent to him by his energy. The Infant Ocean Master was covered in long thin hairs that were a thousand times thinner than a human’s hair. They entered the body of the monster it was fighting when it pierced it with the green tipped tentacles and spread into the wound. The monster’s body was covered in red plasma flames, which caused the water around it to bubble and caused many of the hairs and tentacles on the Infant Ocean Master to burn when it pierced its body but some still made it through.
The green tips were as poisonous as they looked as they spread a weird poison into the body of the other monster causing it to burn the part of itself that was hit by the tentacle tips. This cost it a lot of energy since it was very resistant to its own plasma. The monster was covered in burning wounds that were in the process of healing.
The only time it got a break was when it shot a cone of plasma toward the Infant Ocean Master from its mouth, causing bubbles to form and float toward the surface and burning the tentacles of the Infant Ocean Master. But the Infant Ocean Master always quickly regenerated and resumed its attack.
The monster was running low on energy and biomass due to the fact that it had to spam the plasma fire breath which cost it a lot of energy. The Infant Ocean Master still had a good amount of energy; it was only running low on biomass due to all its regenerations.
The Infant Ocean Master sensed Jade’s soul and intensified its attacks on the monster. Jade descended to the location of the battle and his IP gave him the low down on the two fighting monsters.
The ball of tentacles was as he expected [Rank 29 Ocean Master] the other monster was a [Rank 27 Leviathan]. When it saw Jade, it swam toward him and said ‘Do not aid me child’. Jade looked at it in confusion and said ‘I’m so not your child. I’m like 25 years old dude! How old are you 2?’
The Leviathan looked at Jade with confusion, which for some troubling reason, Jade could discern from its monster face. It said ‘I don’t know how you measure time but I have lived for many flickers, to many to count. Were you sent here to fight with me?’

The Ocean Master interrupted their discussion by opening its mouth and roaring.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The Leviathan sighed when it saw this attack it was a soul attack that was supposed to consume a part of its soul and make it hard for it to fight. But it was immune to such attacks. Jade shouted back
“YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
, countering the soul roar of the Ocean Master with one of his own. His roar was more powerful than the Ocean Master’s so it attacked its soul after destroying its roar. Jade’s roar made the Ocean Master enter a trance for a while before it entered a frenzy and a trance and a frenzy over and over again.
The roar cost him a part of himself so he really didn’t want to use it so much. It was what he did when he just finished evolving and it required him to focus on his experiences and just shout like a Dragon Ball character due to the emotions to take effect.
Jade said to the Leviathan who was looking at him with an incredulous gaze ‘I’ll handle it by myself, your help isn’t needed’. The Leviathan considered for a while before saying ‘But I’ve been fighting it for two months straight’. Jade said ‘and you did a good job but you should rest for now. You won’t be able to add much to the fight since you couldn’t really hurt it in all this time’.
The Leviathan was even more confused at what Jade said but it swam away. Jade used his Beyond-Death soul glyph without entering his soul realm. It allowed him to see the soul of things close to him. The Leviathan’s soul was the biggest soul he had seen been, two times bigger than the creature itself. It was gaseous in some parts, sandy or liquid in others and solid in a few rare places. This array of different grey particles formed a planet, it was the most unique soul Jade had ever seen. Jade thought ‘No wonder it can endure the soul attacks’.
Jade’s soul was a ball of solid grey light and the Ocean Master’s soul was a grey rock ball as large as its body with many thin tentacles extending from it that ended in crystalline pointed tips. The tentacles were in the same place as its physical tentacles and followed them while it moved.
The Ocean Master had overcome the effects of Jade’s soul roar a few moments after it hit it but it was still feigning that it was still under the effects. It feigned frenzy and trance while Jade just watched it with a dead pan expression. After a while Jade said ‘Are you done?’ with a psychic message.
Jade wasn’t feeling good seeing the Ocean Master. His Aesir battle instincts were telling him that the Ocean Master was way weaker than he had anticipated. Jade thought ‘It’s to be expected, I literally control space so I’m sure there’s not much that can take me… I just hoped… it would be a more daunting challenge’.
Jade remembered when his IP said he should get so strong that he would pity his enemies. He closed his eyes and realized that he had done it, he had reached the point where he was now embarrassed of being scared of the Ocean Master.
The Ocean Master stopped feigning and said ‘I will not make this battle easy for you’. Jade said ‘What you will do won’t matter, you should have just left me alone. I’ll just play with you before I kill you’. He was hoping the Ocean Master was more than what his Aesir battle instincts were telling him.
With a thrum of power, Jade curled is hand back and drew the Ocean Master close to him. The Ocean Master didn’t resist, close range fighting was its forte, but it felt a little bit of fear because it didn’t know how Jade was controlling its body.
When it got into the proper range it shot its tentacles toward Jade. One of the abilities the Ocean Master had was that it could infect any form of matter with the poison on its teeth and on the tip of its tentacles. It would put a part of the Ocean Master’s soul in whatever it touched and made it a loyal servant of the monster. The poison was the same one that the Soul Parasite saw when it was in the Ocean Master’s soul.
The tentacles reached Jade but transparent portals opened before Jade and the tentacles entered the portals and came out of another portal that was close to the Ocean Master’s body. The tentacles pierced the body of the monster but the poison had no effect.
Jade said ‘You’re so simple, do something more complex’. The Ocean Master had no answer. Its poison had always been effective and its strong body had always guaranteed it a sure hit. But now it was hopeless, it only had one option left. It had no finesse but it did not lack power. It was going to show why it was the Ocean Master.
