Pentagon was forced to face the Prodigies while performing aura slashes at the Genius regularly at Theo’s orders. They were using the 2 defender, 2 attacker and 2 ranger formation.
The battle of the Rank 3 had begun and for them who had no skilled weapons, it was more straightforward. The Centaurs pointed their weapons forward and they extended. The Rank 3s had to go around the weapons to start a melee which cost them as some of them were impaled or at best wounded.
The Centaurs could also extend their spikes when needed to impale and block the Rank 3s from breaking their formation. The Centaurs had a lot of momentum as they were just a weird form of a Calvary. Deji seeing the Rank 3s being decimated ordered some Rank 4 teams to disengage and make an opening in the Centaur formation for the Rank 3s.
The battle of the Rank 4s increased in difficulty as some of the teams had to withdraw to help the Rank 3s. Pentagon was forced to fully focus on the Prodigies.
Funmi smiled and thought ‘It’s like destiny. Today is the day I become Rank 5!’ Theo, knowing the way Funmi’s technique worked gave her chances to attack the Prodigies. Her attacks were all parried and the long range attacks of the group were being stopped by the Genius’s and although Theo could have told Mira to let out the big guns, he let the stalemate continue.
50 seconds into the battle Funmi was almost ready, she signaled Theo and he said “Mira charge up your large aura slash” Mira stood in her lounge position, yellow aura at her feet and yellow and blue aura on her axe. Her positioning was a bit different than the last time; the hand holding the axe was held back but not raised upward, it was held sideways in preparation for a side way slash and her other hand was on the floor.
…
At this point Deji noticed something ominous. They had thought the Magicians were protecting the Rank 4s and 3s but that wasn’t what was happening. It was only one Magician that was protecting the Rank 4s and 3s all this time; the other Magician was preparing an attack. A giant disc of orange light slowly grew in the hand of the Magician; Deji only noticed it when it had become about 50 meters in diameter.
He thought ‘They’re not smart but they’re very strong. How could one Magician protect so many undead?’ But he got it wrong; the Prodigy Maker had seen Mira block the light ball from the Genius some weeks ago, and seeing that they could all now do aura slashes it had assumed that all of them were capable of the same.
So it thought that it was pointless to attack from a range with attacks as weak as the light ball. So they decided to do a more powerful focused attack that could not be blocked and aim it at the Rank 5 battle.

Mira’s attack was charged, Theo gave her the go ahead and signaled Pentagon and the other team to make way. Pentagon and the other team swiftly left the path facing the Genius open and Mira disappeared with a boom and appeared a few meters away on the ground with her back turned toward the undead with her axe on the floor.
A large and swift horizontal blue aura slash made its way toward the Paragons, aimed for the Genius behind them. The Magician in charge of defense had expected this and began focusing its defense skill on the aura slash. The energy in the aura slash was quickly being dissipated but not quickly enough for the Prodigies in its way to survive.
The Prodigies were split into two at their abdomens but the aura slash was fully dissipated before it reached the Genius. The Magician ordered some of the Centaurs to protect the Genius with their life, but the Genius was dead the moment after the Prodigies died. Funmi had beheaded it, at a speed greater than what she showed Mira during their practice, no one saw her move, she just disappeared the same way Mira and Jola did when using their weapon skills.
A moment later Funmi was behind enemy lines, at the location of the Magician who was charging the attack which had changed from a disc to a concentrated light ball that was pointed at the Rank 5 battle.
She reached the back of their formation where the Magicians were sitting on the backs of their Centaurs in a single leap.
The Magician in charge of defense sensed her and tried to dissipate the energy around her. It couldn’t do this before as she was too far away, but now she was very close, it had no problems doing this. The Magician blinked and Funmi was gone, the head of the attack Magician detached from its neck.
An explosion occurred as the focused explosion the attack Magician was preparing exploded everywhere without its delicate control. Funmi leapt back to her team without trying to behead the other Magician as she sensed the amount of energy in the focused explosion when she killed the Magician and decided it was wise to run.
The explosion pushed her away into the air as she couldn’t fully avoid it. While she was rising in the air, Mira jumped, activating her boot’s air explosion skill to rise and reached Funmi who was tired and dizzy and took her back into the formation.
The undead were shaken greatly as the explosion had hit the Nemesis Prodigy Maker who was behind the Magicians, critically injured it and sent it flying back, away from the battle. The Defense Magician had been killed by the explosion along with the centaurs around it.
A normal undead Hive would have gone to protect the Hive womb when it was injured but the Nemesis undead didn’t have such instinct; they kept on fighting. With no Magician to protect the Genius’s the fight became extremely tough for the undead.
The Nemesis Prodigy Maker didn’t weep the loss of its Magicians or its Paragons when they were killed; it just focused on the battle plan the Magicians had made; it began to retreat, although very slowly as it wasn’t an agile monster, the injuries didn’t help either. The Endpoints had snuck their way to the Rank 4 battle; they were hiding since the start of the fight just for this moment.
The Endpoints were the attempts of the Nemesis Prodigy Maker at making Rank 3 magicians, they were small creatures, 2 feet tall with big heads and bellies, their purpose was to detonate their body killing anything close to them and ending their own life; a suicide squad.
Then plan was for them to sacrifice themselves to take out the proficient Rank 4s. 3 were heading toward Pentagon. Three of them with their eyes set on Funmi jumped into the air launching themselves from a Centaur’s back toward Funmi, in the descending Mira’s hands, ready to explode.
