Jake was silent for a while before asking “Is this Satoshi the Rank 21 person? The highest ranking human?” Daisuke answered “Obviously”. Jade asked “What’s he like?”
Daisuke looked at Jade with a confused expression and said “I don’t know what he’s like; I’ve never met him I've only seen his spawns. My sensei though was his student she knew more about him. She told me he was a Shugendo ascetic, a Shugenja. Shugenja are hermits that religiously practice martial arts while traveling on mountains. They’re an old religion and Satoshi was one of them. He gained transcendent stats when he became able to cut wooden boards with a wooden katana in one stroke at the age of 34.
He made money by making videos of his feats in kendo; he would even be called to kendo tournaments to show his skills and even trained some military officers in kendo at one point. He was 56 when the apocalypse happened but he never stopped practicing his moves even though his fame had died down by then. You can imagine how powerful his moves where when he used them with a plasma blade after so many years of training.
He killed monster after monster even though he was human until his IP forced him to evolve. He had transcendental agility; he became a Tengu after he evolved”
Jade listened silently to Daisuke’s story and thought ‘The only way I can cut a wooden board with a wooden sword in one stroke is with energy enhancement; he probably used some weird martial art’.
He asked “So is it his territory you’re going to show me?” Daisuke shook his head and said “It’s the territory of another great person that’s where I’m from. There are 8 human Conquerors, or to be more precise formally human Conquerors, here in Japan. Most of them didn’t want to be under Satoshi’s influence until the event started, the monsters that were normally docile and restricted to their territories began to attack them left and right so they immediately asked for the protection of his spawns. I was already a 2nd generation disciple of Satoshi before the event though”
Jade wanted to ask more questions but he had to keep the façade of being a Rank 6 so he asked “What’s a Conqueror? I saw it in the announcement before the event but I have no idea what it is”.
Daisuke looked at Jade in amusement and said “You, you’re a Hunter, right?” Jade’s eyes widened in shock, he hadn’t strictly kept to his façade but he didn’t expect Daisuke to be so intelligent considering their previous discussions.
He hurriedly stutter after he realized he had stayed silent for a few seconds “No, no. Um what’s a Hunter? I saw it in the ann-“. Daisuke burst into laughter, interrupting Jade’s poor excuse. Jade went silent when he saw that and asked “How did you find out?”
Daisuke answered with a smug smile “You didn’t ask me how I knew your position even when you were invisible. So you must have seen noticed that I was a superior sense High Human with your Hunter’s Perception. And only someone who has killed a Rank 7 monster would not be surprised when I said Satoshi has spawns. And besides my sensei was a Hunter, her race description changes quite often so I knew when your ‘Rank 6 High Human’ showed up that you were a Hunter, I just didn’t know if you were human”

Jade rolled his eyes and said “Ok, so you got me big deal. Where is the direction of the settlement you were talking about and who is the Conqueror there?” Daisuke smiled and said “I’ve given you a lot of information, which I know is very useful to hunters. I need something in exchange for the information I have provided and the ones I’ll provide”.
Jade said “You know, I miss you, the gullible you. He was so nice and stupid and would show me his moves even though he shouldn’t trust strangers that appear out of nowhere *sigh* I want him back” Daisuke laughed at Jade and Jade continued “I can tell you the results of my research into your kendo and even give you some ideas but you’ll have to show me the moves again. For the other information, can I just pay you with weapons? You can sell them for en-code and what not”
Daisuke said “I accept the first deal but I would prefer a different payment for the other information. I want to follow you on your hunts and kill some monsters too, I’m aiming to be a Hunter also”. Jade thought for a while before saying “Ok, deal. But I can’t be bothered to protect you” Daisuke nodded and said “That’s fine by me”.
Jade said “Ok, so give me the information”. Daisuke pointed in a direction and said “30 kilometers in that direction is where you’ll find Yubi’s territory. She’s a Primordial Elf, one of the 8 Daimyos. There are 3 Primordial Elves, 2 Ancient Dwarfs and 3 Primordial Humans among the Daimyos. They use a system of governance where those who want to be fighters train to become Conquerors by protecting peripheral territories so that those who want to remain out of the fight can be protected by their spawns. But with the Event removing the spawn privilege permanently the Conquerors can’t make more spawns and they have to pay the spawns en-code for their protection now that they have individuality and aren’t just robots anymore”.
Jade thought ‘So that’s what happened after the privilege was taken. No wonder many souls were moving erratically on the first day. One would expect the Conquerors to organize their spawns to fight wars but the spawns now have individualities and can chose to desert. It’s kind of fair now that I think about it; the Conquerors don’t just get to advance to a better job without some suffering. The new Ancient races are quite interesting, I wonder if they’re the same as fictional elves and dwarves’
Jade asked “So do the dwarves make weapons and are the elves archers?” Daisuke shook his and said “I left Yubi’s city before I got to know much about the other Daimyos. The information I have is from traders that came to her city. I know that she can control plants but that’s all I know about that, I don’t know if other elves can do the same or what the Dwarves do. I focused more on hunting after I left”.
Jade thought ‘It’s a lot to take in but I’ll have to go out of my comfort zone if I want to get more tech and magic. No True Dream really sucks; the last monster I killed without it was a Rank 7. I have to speed run up till Rank 19 without True Dream before this parasite finishes eating my soul. I wonder what my true rank is now that I’ve lost my soul ability’
Jade, with a mental command, teleported himself and Daisuke to where Yubi’s city was supposed to be located.
