Haley’s eyes widened, her jaw dropped and she slumped as she said “Even after all that? What a freak!” The heat from the comet vanished and it slowly descended towards the ground under Chao Feng’s control.
‘Buddha’s Palm’.
A football stadium wide palm made of a golden force field descended on Hayley. She straightened her posture, smiled and said “High Five!!!!!!!!!!!” as she slammed the descending palm with a palm of her own.
The force field transformed into confetti the moment Hayley’s palm touched it. Chao Feng stared at the spectacle in confusion. ‘She’s using the same technique that Zivon used’ Yu sent to him.
‘Twice in one day’ Chao thought before asking ‘But she didn’t say anything’. Yu replied ‘She is trying to confuse you, she let out the Reign for just a brief moment before hiding it back’.
Chao thought ‘I just have to keep attacking until she can’t use it anymore. As long as I’m not caught I’m good’. A golden force field covered Chao’s body as he took stance. His knees bent, his legs wide apart with one arm held forward and the other held at his abdomen.
Chao’s arms blurred as he executed a series of punches that released golden fists towards Hayley. The fists passed through every obstacle without breaking them, they only had an effect when they got close to Hayley.
Hayley awkwardly dodged the fists as they came along, unsteadily performing flips and cartwheels and bending at impossible angles. The fists leveled the ground around Hayley, boring into the ground like it was made of mayonnaise, releasing shockwaves that spread for miles. Still Hayley, by some weird turn of events dodged all of them without getting as much as a scratch.
Chao Feng fumed as he saw her untouched form bowing with her ever present smile. She shouted toward Chao Feng “Thank you for watching!” and swiftly jumped back into her portal and closed it afterwards.
A vein popped on Chao’s head as he thought ‘Like hell the show’s gonna end’. ‘Meixiu where did she go?’ he sent to Meixiu who said ‘I can’t track her yet give me a minute’.
The quiet Shan spoke for the first time ‘Someone has stolen the prizes. She was a decoy. Some of those who didn’t run away were her spies; they took them while we were focused on the fight’. Chao Feng’s expression darkened as the reality sunk in; he had been played. He lost all the prizes he gave so much to get, he lost most of the population in his city, and the culprit showed herself and got away.
He assessed his previous actions and wondered what he could have done better. He couldn’t think of anything. He couldn’t have gotten closer to Hayley since she had Reign and could kill him if he entered it. He tried his best to be plain and open about what he valued and it got him stabbed in the back by his people. He had to do something, he couldn’t accept this result. Even if it meant killing all the people in the world to root out Hayley, he was willing to do it.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Golden force fields condensed and around Chao Feng’s figure. His eyes turned golden, shining with golden light and multiple golden arms wrapped around his body leaving his head uncovered. A golden lotus flower unfolded under him as he prepared to use ‘Divine Strike’.
The light before Chao Feng bent and formed the image of Avatari. She thought ‘He’ll probably destroy the planet in order to find her. She totally humiliated and ruined him’. The amount of energy in the each finger of the arms could vaporize a continent; it was a mind blowing manifestation of the power stat. The evolution had certainly made the people to power for the small planet of earth.
She said “I know someone that can find her”.
“Who?” Chao Feng asked.
“The person is coming to the world meeting. I’m 100% certain he will find Hayley no matter what dimension she hides in” Avatari assured “You just have to wait. Rebuild your city with what little population you have. Be more cautious this time; test them for any sign of disloyalty, improve your surveillance. People came to you only because of benefits but now those people are gone. Find something more solid than profit and use that to unite your people. You have failed, you can only try again”.
Chao Feng asked “Are you certain this person can find her?”
“Yes I’m certain” Avatari stated.
“What will happen when we find her?” Chao Feng asked.
“She will repay you what she owes you. And to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again we will place sanctions on her” Avatari said.
“So I don’t get to flatten her?” Chao Feng asked, his dissatisfaction evident.
“Killing her would be going too far for theft. The humiliation you feel won’t go away if you beat her; she will just heal so it’s pointless. You can only better yourself to ensure such a thing doesn’t happen again” Avatari said, firm in her decision.
“Ok” Chao Feng said. He undid the force field before descending the stairs.
…
After finishing her fight Mira woke up and teleported to Jade’s lab. She knelt on the floor as her body and mind demanded for something they had not asked for since she evolved; sleep.
Darol, the Champion Arachni, skittered to where she was and said “It’s been a while since I had visitors”. He scrutinized Mira’s state and asked “What’s happening?”
Mira said “I need to rest” as she sat on the ground, her back against the wall and closed her eyes. Darol skittered away to inform Jade as Mira’s consciousness faded.
Within her soul realm, the star that was her soul ability had cracked. Something unexpected had happened when it tried to change to a Soul Glyph. The cracks expanded on the star as it destabilized.
…
The organizer watched this event with full focus as it thought ‘Will it kill her?’ the thought resounded in its mind before an answer came back: ‘No’. The event that was happening was an event it had seen many times; a supernova, the last step in the evolution of a star.
It had never seen one happen in the soul though. ‘A soul ability that destroys itself when it evolves into a Soul Glyph, unusual’. Beyond her soul realm Mira’s body started to sweat a black liquid.
The liquid soon covered her figure completely and hardened into a rubbery membrane. The membrane swelled with time covering Mira’s figure entirely with its ovoid shape.
Darol was about to contact Jade when the organizer influenced his mind to brush the matter off; it didn’t want any disturbances. Within the cocoon, Mira’s body turned to mush.
