Jade introduced Mira to Darol who she had never seen before since the light gate that she used wasn’t in the same room as the one Darol was. Darol was in the process of learning various things about human culture and history as well as technology and magic; Jade wanted him to be his assistant so he had to teach him the necessary knowledge.
After the introduction Jade said to Mira “So, do you want new armor? A weapon? Maybe a weird device?” Mira said “I wouldn’t mind a new armor and but it would be good if you learnt of my skills first hand”.
Jade said “A spar then!” Mira nodded and Jade teleported both of them to a different dimension that was appropriate for such… or at least he tried. Jade couldn’t teleport Mira at all and only succeeded in teleporting himself to the room that had just air.
He teleported back and saw Mira’s slightly confused expression. He tried to teleport her again and it took him a whole 3 minutes before he could fully grasp her and do it. The void around Mira was very dense hence controlling it required a lot of energy because to be honest, Jade’s teleportation was very crude. It felt like lifting a back of sand with just his pinky.
He was just forcing space to relocate with just his Cosmic-Soul and Space glyph without adding any finesse. Given, it was something only he could do and he hadn’t faced any problems when teleporting himself or various objects but now he learnt that this crude method wouldn’t do.
Mira asked “Is something wrong?” Jade said “It’s nothing really. I’ve just been teleporting things very crudely”. Mira asked “You teleported me to the lab didn’t you, why did it now take you so much time to take me to another room?”
Jade’s said “When I brought you to the lab I created portals. Creating portals is done by changing the position of the surrounding space hence all I have to do is supply the portal with energy to keep it running continuously. Direct position switching is different; I have to change the position of the space that you occupy. It takes a lot to do it but it gives you no chance to resist or avoid it once you’re caught.
There is a lot of void concentrated on you. Void is the smallest unit of space by the way. So moving so much of it takes a while. With a portal, the amount of void you have determines how much energy it will cost me for you to pass through. I generally don’t feel the pinch since I have so much energy. But now that I think about it I’ve become used to a very simplistic form of space-“
Jade’s explanation was interrupted by a yawn from Mira. Jade snorted and said “Potato brain”. Mira laughed and said “Experience Jade, I’m getting experience at knowing the questions I shouldn’t ask people like you. Can we fight now?” Jade snorted and said “So brutish, we can fight now”.
Mira swiftly dashed, ripping space apart and vanished before she appeared behind Jade… was what she wanted to happen but she appeared right in front of him with a punch headed for her face.
“BANG!!!”

A layer of black diamond came into existence to protect Mira from the blow but she was still pushed away. She stopped her backward flight and disappeared again, she was instantly accelerating by using very short but powerful Shooting Stars to thrust herself.
Jade was not bothered by any disappearance she made as he could easily bend the space around her which would throw her off course. If he wanted he could even prevent her from teleporting by stopping the movement of Void that facilitated such. She appeared in front of Jade but she was positioned just a bit off target, causing her punch to fly over his shoulder and his punch to hit her stomach, this time she didn’t use any diamond for protection.
Again she was sent flying, Jade laughed and said “I’m punching with all I have how are you not getting hurt?” Mira said “My Durability is higher than your strength. You have no martial skills so I advice you to use some of your magic”. Jade thought ‘That would be overkill’ and said “But you are a Mythical race and I’m a Celestial, I’m supposed to be better than you at anything!”
Mira laughed and said “If this was just after I evolved then maybe but now I can just take the trait of a monster or person with a higher stat than me and have it just by fusing with some of their genetic material. Obviously I’ve been focusing on getting better physical stats overall”
Jade said “That’s such a good ability you can really just increase your stats by eating other people’s pubes”. Mira looked at him weird and said “I mostly go for skin or blood thank you very much. I’m not the creep you’re trying to make me out to be”.
Jade chuckled and said “Tell me how it works”. Mira explained how Gene Copying, Mutate and Morph, her race’s major abilities worked. Jade thought for a while before he said “The drawback of your Gene Copying is that it is too perfect”. Mira raised and eye brow and said “Come again”. And the spar had quickly turned into a lesson.
Jade said “What I mean is that it copies everything, including the genes you will never use for Mutating of Morphing. For example let’s say you stole some of Gbenga’s genes, it would give you genes that give arms, legs, diseases, organs, skin tone and a whole lot of other unnecessary details about a person will be copied but you will only be Mutating with a few traits”.
Mira nodded in understanding and said “It is a perfect copy is why it’s so bad. It makes it harder for me to store other races since every time I use the ability it takes more genes than I really need” Jade said “Correct”.
Mira said “I don’t really use the gene’s I copy to do much other than Mutate. I do keep some of them just in case but I don’t really need to store so many copies of genes”. Jade nodded and said “That’s one of the bad things about you right now. You’re not using your race’s abilities to its full potential. It is expected since your race is so complex and has abilities that have a lot of applications that you aren’t using. The combination of Gene Copy and Morph is an example of that”.
Jade pointed at himself and the shape of his body changed continually until it perfectly resembled Mira, with fur, claws and all that. He slightly increased his size till his height increased to Mira’s height at around 6 feet. The color of his replica skin and fur changed to resemble her and he looked like a perfect copy of Mira.
Mira smiled, clapped and said “You look breath taking”. Jade raised a dismissive hand and said with her voice “That’s not the point. In order to do this I had to copy you on a molecular level. You’re different in that you can do this and more naturally with your race abilities. Let’s fight, no skills, just use your race abilities. I’ll use a copy of them”.
Mira said “I don’t think I can pay you for all this help you’re giving”. Jade said “There is a competition coming up, if you model my creations I’ll consider that payment enough”. Mira said “So you’re basically giving me free training”. Jade nodded and said “Yes, it’s what I want to do”.
Mira said “You’ve really changed”. Jade said “Indeed I have”.
