Jade laid Mira on the floor and a psychic message came for him. It said ‘Hello Jade, it’s been a while. I went to China to understand what happened with Gog. The run down is quite simple. There are two Rank 29 monsters in the country, the Heavenly Dragon and the Celestial Phoenix. They protect the people and monsters and have formed a sort of government between the monsters and the humans.
Honestly, I expected less from monsters but they are pretty ok, their rules are not to constrictive, on the contrary they gave too much freedom. Gog was a high Rank spawn of the Heavenly Dragon and he left it at the beginning of WW3.He went to the UK and came back to defeat the Taotie.
It asked the Heavenly Dragon for assistance but the Dragon refused to help it fight the Taotie. I haven’t found out why it didn’t ask the Phoenix yet but the thing that made me wonder was why the Heavenly Dragon refused Gog. A month and a half after the start of my search and the end of WW3, the reason for the Heavenly Dragon’s decision made itself known, to be more precise, himself…
The Heavenly Dragon was waiting for someone to finish evolving, yes a human. The full story is that a guy called Chao Feng befriended a Rank 28 Deep Tortoise. He along with the Tortoise came to the territory of the Heavenly Dragon and fought it to submission. Chao Feng promised the Heavenly Dragon that he would kill the Taotie with it and ally with it against other threats if it protected him from the Taotie’s rampage while he evolved.
Both the Heavenly Dragon and Chao Feng did not know how long the evolution would take but it lived around humans and knew that the evolution would bring Chao Feng to a whole different level of power making him a threat that it couldn’t remove. The Heavenly Dragon agreed to the terms and gave his Word to Chao Feng. Chao Feng then evolved and woke up a month and a half after the end of the event.
The Taotie was dead so he didn’t have to fight it. After hearing the announcement of Avatari, he is in search for more comrades so he is doing some sort of advertisement by organizing a competition. Two fighters are required to enter; they can be from any country as long as they are ex-humans. There are a lot of good prizes for placing within the top ten of the competition. The prizes include weapons, special materials, magic knowledge, martial art knowledge and the like.
Among of the best prizes are the Sutras; they can give a person new martial art capabilities from hearing and understanding them. There are only 3 Sutras available for the top 3 teams. The competition starts in a week.
I’m certainly interested and was wondering if you would be interested in participating; the contestants have to come in teams of two. The Daimyos are also participating along with Satoshi, if you’ve evolved I would like your help. I’m willing to repay you, you can either participate in the competition or make weapons for me or make another set of armor that gives insight; I’ll accept anything.
Ever since en-code was removed it has been really hard for anyone to get stronger this applies to me too. If you have other methods that you feel can help me don’t hesitate to tell me, the competition is starting in a week’.
Jade remembered that he had given Daisuke a device to contact him in his lab when he was still making swords for him to train with. He thought ‘He must have used that. The problem is who is this Gog? What is the Taotie and en-code is no more?’ Jade asked his IP ‘How much en-code do I have?’
It answered ‘The en-code feature has been removed at the end of the previous Event’. Jade asked ‘What other changes were made?’ His IP filled him up on the announcement at the end of WW3. Jade was still evolving during that time so he didn’t get the memo. He sighed and thought ‘So the next event is that important huh? I need to prepare, I’ve still not reached the limits of my current intelligence. But there are still about 3 months before the next Event’.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
Jade was interested in the competition now that he knew there was no en-code but he didn’t want to postpone his attack on the Infant Ocean Master, he wanted Mira to watch the fight hence he trained her; she couldn’t watch the fight without dying or being a burden if she had a weak soul.
Jade chose to propose the idea of competition to Mira. If she went he would have fulfilled Daisuke’s request one way or another and if she didn’t he would just let her watch his fight and he would tell Daisuke he couldn’t make it if the fight took longer than a week.
…
Mira woke up 3 hours later, the memory of what made her pass out was vague; her brain had completely scrambled the information to maintain its sanity. She stood up from the floor and Jade said “Took you a while”. Mira asked “What happened?”
Jade said “You saw what you weren’t supposed to see”. Mira said “I guess I did, your training almost made me run mad”. Jade said “I did warn you”. Mira nodded and said “I think it’s clear that I can’t beat you”. Jade nodded and said “To think you were even entertaining the possibility. It’s different now though, you don’t know the right tactic to beat someone like me. Before, you didn’t even have the capacity to be a threat to me but now you can. I’m not interested in teaching you my weakness so you’ll have to deal with your shortcomings in your own way but for now you can protect yourself from spatial, temporal, real and soul manipulation and attacks. You should train the skill you got and get used to your soul realm and soul ability”.
Mira showed a confused expression as she said “Soul realm? Soul ability? What are those?” Jade said “You have it now so you can do it on your own. I entered my soul realm when I was still a Primordial Human so you should have no problems. I’m going to fight a monster I have some beef with it. You can watch the fight; maybe you’ll gain some inspiration by watching a fight. What do you say?”
Mira said “I’m not interested in watching you fight, we are nothing alike when it comes to battle and I don’t want to learn from something you are going to beat. If you need me as a lifeline I can come though”. Jade said “Don’t worry about that, I’m pretty sure about my winning chances”. The Soul Parasite had seen some of the Infant Ocean Master’s memories so Jade now knew some of its abilities and he knew they were no match for him. But he expected the Infant Ocean Master to have grown so it wouldn’t be exactly as he planned.
There were some other troubling things he learnt of like the monsters that attacked the Infant Ocean Master consistently. There were a variety of sea monsters and the Soul Parasite couldn’t clearly get the memories about them but what it got proved that they were in short, terrifying.
Jade was certain that they sea was considered an unknown world to him because of the vast amount of creature living there that he didn’t know about and hadn’t interacted with. He was going to explore it when he was done with the Infant Ocean Master.
Jade said “There is a competition in China with some prizes involved, are you interested?” Mira asked “Sure tell me about it”. Jade sent a copy of the psychic message he got from Daisuke to Mira and said “It was sent to me by a contact of mine in Japan. This is what he looked like when I saw him last” Jade sent a psychic image of Daisuke to Mira’s mind and said “Are you interested?”
Mira said “Of course, I also saw the fight between Gog and the Rank 30 monster with my Soul Map; I didn’t know its name was Taotie. Plus, I get to explore China, I’m going”. Jade threw a blue ring toward Mira and said “It’s an upgrade of the space ring. It can change sizes, teleport like a light gate, and do a lot of other things. The ring will tell you about its features. Can you tell me about this Gog?”. Mira nodded and told Jade what she could gleam from what her Soul Map showed her then.
After listening to the explanation Jade thought ‘A new Rank 30 monster huh? Interesting, sadly I can’t check up on it for now’. Jade teleported out of the lab to a familiar place above the Atlantic Ocean.
…
He appeared over the part of the sea where the Infant Ocean Master on his Soul Map was. It was evening time now but the darkness didn’t affect his vision as he looked at the waters of the Atlantic Ocean expecting a soul attack or anything like the last time but nothing happened. Jade didn’t need to breathe since his body was just a circuit that ran on Cosmic Energy but he took a few deep breaths. His face became solemn as he said “This is the night bitches die” and dived into the water.
