93] - [Way Forward]

93] - [Way Forward]

During the short travel, Natasha had been dumbfounded. Her mouth agape, a few bugs got into her mouth. But even after coughing them out and chocking on insects, she could not hide her shock.

Alexander's speed was simply too fast. What took her a month would be covered in a moment.

She immediately understood the difference in cultivation between her and him.

'Has brother Alexander surpassed the Greater Existence Realm? Is he just like our ancestor?' By the time her thoughts ended, they had arrived.

Entering the Dragon Mansion still below the clear blue sky, they soon made their way deep inside its core.

Sitting face to face at a table, Natasha asked for servants to pour spiritual water of freezing temperature.

Seeing him sip nonchalantly, she parted her lips.

"Brother Alexander... I wanted to-"

"My cultivation? You've been ogling at my life wheel for so long, so I suppose this is what you want to know about?" Raising his gaze to meet hers, Alexander continued to sip on his fresh water.

"Y-Yes..." Slightly embarrassed of her inappropriate actions, Natasha did not know what to do.

She was strong and now extremely old for the Celestial Realm's standards, so she of course had her fair share of worldly experience. She knew that a weaker being looking the wrong way at a stronger one could very well lead to sudden death. How many had been slaughtered because they stared at an expert? How many had perished over trivialities such as these? Countless.

She knew full well that Alexander was dimensions beyond her, so what she did could be considered worthy of death.

Even if she escaped today, as Alexander would probably be lenient to her, her mind would still be shaken. Simply because if the luck of Alexander being friendly to her was not present, she would have died already.

Just as she expected, Alexander did not pursue the matter, not bothered with something so trivial. And instead even gave her an answer.

"This life wheel that you see is formed during the third and last stage within the Life Refining Realm. Of course this major realm is the one right after yours. As for myself... I don't know much. All I know is that I am deep inside the Instinct Liberating Realm... but how deep... I am not too sure."

Her face pale, Natasha had her assumptions not only confirmed, but surpassed!

Sipping on his water for a bit, Alexander followed on his momentum.

"You see... I wanted to ask some help from your Dragon Mansion. I only need clues. I do not know about other powers, but I do know about your Dragon Mansion and even met your ancestor!"

Trembling, Natasha covered her mouth in utter disbelief.

"You met... our ancestor..?" She was not only shocked, but happy. Her ancestor could maybe be brought back and help them through future storms. Unfortunately, Alexander's next words crushed her infant hopes.

"Yes, I killed him myself after all. He dared to go against me, so I simply showed him the way down." Sipping the rest of his water, Alexander asked for more.

A maid pouring some more water for him, she looked terrified.

"Alexander... you what?" Her brows furrowed, Natasha lost herself to anger.

"What? I killed that idiot, so what about it?" Since he had come with good intentions and on a good mood, Alexander was being extremely polite this time. So seeing her anger surge, he held himself back from butchering her frail flesh without mercy.

Noticing his cold glare while he continued to sip calmly on his freshly poured water, she managed to regain some clarity.

"Brother Alexander... I'm sorry! I lost myself, I hope that you can forgive me and my ancestor!" Lowering her head in shame and fear, Natasha now truly understood what people meant when they said that might made right. Even if her ancestor had been killed, all she could do was plead for forgiveness on her ancestor's behalf.

She could feel her resolve waver from this heavy and shameful event.

"I forgive you. Just remember that there is always something beyond. What you did here could have killed you! If it was not me present, but someone else just as strong, your entire Celestial Heart Region would have been dyed in blood."

"Anyway, I came here because I don't know what to do next. I have found a way to become stronger, but it is too far from my current point. It's like walking on a bridge, but just the part in front of my feet has been damaged and I cannot proceed further without fixing it. I want all the information your Dragon Mansion currently possess. If there are historical books, I will read them, if there are memory jades, I will inspect them. You see where this is going?"

Nodding repeatedly, Natasha felt humiliated once more. As a peak existence of this world, she was still being ordered around like a nobody.

"Good, then tell me when it's ready. Oh and get me a healing pill." Showing her his left arm, she saw her widen her eyes.

What kind of force in this world could injure someone so strong?

Seeing her leave in a hurry, he waited patiently.

Expecting to need a few days, he was just about to request, or more so order, a room, but Natasha came back mere moments later.

"Here!" Lightly tossing a jade token to him along a bottle, she cupped her fists and left.

'So fast? Did she already have a copy or...' Inspecting the jade, greedy for its contained information, Alexander narrowed his eyes.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

There were indeed countless pieces of information neatly organized, and along them, was a specific location marked as classified.

As he looked over the information, Alexander popped a green pill into his mouth. Not bothering with hidden dangers or even quality of the pill.

Since it was as clear as glass, it must have been a peak grade one at least.

And after consuming it, Alexander felt nothing special from it, confirming it as peak grade. Once done eating the ten inside the bottle, his left arm started to regrow.

'Could've given me a spirit grade one at least...' Grumbling lightly, Alexander focused on the jade.

'The dungeon can only open near the reversed path? Again with the random bullshit...' Shaking his head, Alexander noticed another piece of information on it.

'Their ancestor... did what?' Wanting to kill that ancestor of theirs one more time, Alexander stored the jade before vanishing from his spot.

A figure shooting out from the void mid-air, its silver eyes looked in annoyance at a destroyed land below.

This land was the plain he had reduced to a wasteland when he first entered the secret dungeon. It was the place where the Sealed Ten Heavens were!

Watching some people near it, Alexander scoffed, releasing his aura fully.

Deaf to the scream below, he turned into a beam of silver light, entering the dungeon once again.

After seeing some people along the way, Alexander killed all of them as well. And as he reentered the many halls, ended up locked where he made a massacre.

The scene that unfolded was quite comical to him.

'Foolish.' Watching a small crowd of experts below the Life Refining Realm trying to loot the Sealed Ten Heavens' corpses, he kept enjoying their constant failures.

'The body of a Life Refining Realm cultivator is not that easy to deal with, even after death!' Waving his hand, he killed all of them, no matter whether they were old or young, male or female. He showed no mercy to people trying to steal his belongings.

Of course they had no chance of not angering him. Alexander already considered the entire Multiverse to be his property by now. Only the master of this Multiverse could currently threaten him.

Looking for Divine Elder Dervedos Ghylar's corpse, he soon found it. Its state was quite gruesome, but he simply walked over before grabbing at the corpse's torso.

His hand piercing through the corpse's hard flesh, Alexander soon retracted it, a piece of Dervedos' spine in his grasp.

The piece of bone was crystal clear and colored with a mixture of cobalt and purple. Removing the dried bones still intact around it, Alexander found it to be in a peculiar shape.

'A key is it? Great...'

Not only was this piece similar to a beautiful key, it also looked special from its end.

'No wonder I never noticed anything weird...'

The key was actually extremely thin on its tip, with many twist and turns. The material meant to be used was quite flexible as well.

'Do I really have to inspect every nook and cranny of this fucking giant place?'

Still with some hope, Alexander rushed back.

By the time he was near the entrance of the dungeon, he felt his hopes wither. But fortunately, when he was almost there, the key shone a bright purple light. And as if to reverberate with it, a piece of wall on his left did the same. The corridor he was currently in was filled with blue and purple lights.

A rumble echoing, the piece of shining wall vibrated before crumbling to dust. Left behind was a cave-like passageway.

Without hesitation, Alexander rushed inside, albeit with some care. The Celestial Realm did not seem to hold anything that could help him advance anymore, so he did not bother himself with clones yet.

The cave went down, so much so that Alexander felt a good half of the Celestial Realm's underground width behind me already. At some point, a blue light shone from the end, and the stairs he skipped over while flying stopped as well.

Entering a rather small room, possessing a similar design to the previous halls, Alexander noticed something very intriguing.

The room merely a hundred meters squared compared to him, was cut in half up front. Alexander was standing on one half, and a man with short white hair the opposite one. Separating them, a familiar screen of blue light.

Sending a palm strike, Alexander felt his hand go numb from the wall of light's defenses.

'I can't break it?'

Noticing him as well, the young man behind, seated against the wall, chuckled.

"Friend! There is no point in doing all of this. If you want to enter, go ahead and join me, it won't stop you. But getting out will be impossible!"

Calmly looking over at the young man, Alexander stroke his beard.

"Are you trying to send me away? I did do all of this just to give up now."

Shaking his head, the man continued.

"Then go ahead! I simply hoped that someone would help me with that stupid exit... but fine! Join me and let's all wait together!" Opening his arms wide sarcastically, the man looked disappointed.

Frowning from his reaction, Alexander did not move, indicating for him to explain further.

"Interested? Perfect! You are curious about the exit but do not want to end up like me. Wise choice! But before I explain anything, care to release your cultivation base? I cannot see it clearly."

The request being cost-free, Alexander obliged, releasing his aura.

"Peak Instinct Liberating Realm!! Hahaha!! The Heavens have not abandoned me!"

"Friend! Let me introduce myself." Releasing an aura no weaker than Alexander's, the man resumed.

"My name is Lei Diesto! And just like you, I am half a step away from the Half-Universe Realm!"

Throughout his speech, Lei Diesto's eyes were brightly shining, as if gazing upon salvation.

"To proceed further down the Martial Dao, we both need each other's help! I have knowledge and resources from this side, while you have what is required from outside!"

Seeing him narrow his eyes, Lei Diesto did not dwindle anymore.

"Take this!" Throwing a piece of multicolored crystal over, Alexander caught it.

Watching Alexander's suspicious gaze, the man explained.

"Only inoffensive Humans and Demons can go through this light screen. But they cannot get out once inside! What I have thrown is neither alive nor Human or Demon, so it got through just fine. This crystal is apparently called the Five Diagram Seeking Compass. It can help you locate the five keys scattered across the continents! After you gather each key, come back and enter with me! Only then can we proceed further!" The man kept yelling, unable to contain his excitement.

On the other hand, Alexander was somewhat stuck in a pinch.

The man behind the curtain of light could very well be malicious, and with the aura he displayed, Alexander was not certain about victory. It would be a fifty-fifty chance. Not only so, but he had no other idea on how to get out. The very dungeon that gave him insights on his current realm and its exit held a potential exit out of this Multiverse.

There was only one way to deal with his doubts.

"I'll do it. But you have to make an oath! I don't trust you!"

Shocked with wide eyes for a moment, the man named Lei suddenly laughed like a maniac.

"No problem! I, Lei Diesto, swear to the Heavens that I hold no malicious intentions towards..."

"Alexander!"

"...Alexander, and will never betray him or even lie, be it in the past, present or future! If break it, may the Heavenly Way punish me accordingly! But...this oath is only valid if Alexander does the same!"

This time, it was Alexander's turn to stared at the other party with wide eyes.

"You...!"

"What? I can make an oath, but you can't? I don't mind waiting for a few millions years more! Actually, I would even wait billions if not trillions!"

His expression falling, Alexander clicked his tongue.

'As if you could live that long... shameless boasting!'

Interrupting his thoughts was a sword thrown at his feet.

Inspecting its tier, Alexander's feet turned cold.

"Friend, oh sorry, brother Alexander, I don't mind gifting you this low grade Universal-Tier sword out of goodwill! I have so many of them anyway..."

The corner of his mouth twitching, Alexander was truly stuck now. If the man really had so much good stuff with him, his winning chances would plummet down to Hell.

Waiting for Alexander to make his oath, Lei Diesto suddenly saw him send the sword back. And along with it, a set of words.

"I want a poleaxe instead."
