38] - [Wrath]

38] - [Wrath]

Snorting, Alexander looked at the miserable Hu Guanting, his eyes cold.

"Depends on what you can offer. You have lived for many years and reached an extremely high level of cultivation, so you must know, on the path of cultivation, lives are worth less than grass! Even if you don't offend anyone, someone might just feel like killing you!"

Shivering, Hu Guanting tried his best to think about a potential solution.

"Senior! This city lord will do anything! Please just give the word!" Going for the easier path, Hu Guanting simply gave up on anything creative, going for the classic method. However, Alexander's next words crushed him.

"I don't feel like doing this type of stuff, you know what, I'll let you go, but I'll reveal your current position and cultivation base to the surroundings galaxies!"

Dread building up, Hu Guanting could not even mutter a word of protest as Alexander started to spread his Divine Sense far and wide.

Soon, inside the head of all beings within his Divine Sense's range, including Ascended Galla, Alexander's voice sounded for all to hear.

"The city lord of Ascended Galla is an Ascension Realm third layer cultivator!" Laughing, Alexander looked at the already collapsed, sweating figure of Hu Guanting. Who in the end, could only slowly mutter a few words of despair.

"It's over... it's over..."

Curious were the numerous people near this scene, as they did not know how revealing someone's cultivation base was so devastating, especially for a known figure like Hu Guanting.

What they did not know however, was that reaching the peak of the seventh layer within the Ascension Realm did not only require talent and potential, but also luck!

At this major realm, each increase in layer meant a tremendous increase in status, as not only were Ascension Realm experts rare, but most of them ended up stuck at some point.

This caused all Overlords to try their best at eliminating potential competition. Hu Guanting had done his best and somehow managed to survive this long after encountering many experts stronger than him. But now, all Overlords billions of galaxies away would be aware of him, and since Ascended Galla was an extremely rare Origin-Tier World, its position was known by almost all of those experts!

Hu Guanting was now stuck with a target on his back for the rest of his life! Any Overlord slightly stronger than him would immediately rush to him and eliminate a potential future threat to their position!

Ignoring the doomed city lord, Alexander looked back at the fights that appeared to have stopped because of their commotion. Raising his voice, he shouted loud and clear.

"What are you all doing?! Continue the fights! This Alexander hasn't come all the way here to watch living statues!"

Fear permeated the air as all fights resumed, albeit stiffer than before. Brawlers would either be mindful of their movements and become rigid or try and show off to this mysterious expert capable of even suppressing the mighty city lord.

"That's better."

Stealing glances at Alexander, Elder Cao's composure was on the verge of collapsing.

'Senior is stronger than I thought!'

Fight after fight, the end was near. Taking a few days of break to let the participants rest, Alexander waited in place, motionless.

On his left, Elder Cao suddenly narrowed his eyes before looking at the sky.

Shocked, Elder Cao stood up before cupping his fists respectfully.

"Principal!"

Ignoring Elder Cao, the man who just appeared, his long brown hair freely flowing, looked at Alexander.

"Hello friend, my name is Wei Jiahao and I am the principal of the Dawn Academy. It truly is an honor to witness this friend's elegant showdown." Introducing himself, Wei Jiahao did not lower his standing, even in front of Alexander.

"I see, but did I ask? Let alone that, I don't remember being your 'friend', what's this all about?"

Facing Alexander's stern stance, Wei Jiahao could only show a wry smile.

"Of course I would call you 'friend', after all, are you not a guest of my Dawn Academy? Didn't you have fun? So why not give this Wei a little bit of face?"

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Scoffing, Alexander did not play along.

"Listen, kid. If you don't want to end up like that moron over there, then keep your mouth in check! I am not someone who cares about such petty formalities, especially coming from a rat like you!"

Veins bulging from his entire body, Wei Jiahao was getting irritated to no end. Not having been there for the earlier show of power, he did not know how Alexander had defeated Hu Guanting, only assessing Alexander as an equal at best.

Therefore, he did not understand why Alexander was unwilling to give him face.

"Haha, listen friend, let's not go there, shall we?" Reigning on his emotions to the best of his ability, Wei Jiahao kept the casual tone going.

"Man, you better shut your fucking mouth and sit the fuck down before I fold your fucking spine a dozen times, leaving your stupid ass begging for death on the ground!" Roaring, Alexander's already paper thin patience had gone past its limits, his foul language spitting on Wei Jiahao's friendliness.

"Dammit! See! Because you're so annoying, I ended up talking like this, losing face myself in the process, are you happy now?!" This time, it was Alexander's turn to have veins bulge from anger all over his face, his eyes icy.

While not eloquent, Alexander's speech was still within the cultivation world's standards. But once he became beyond annoyed, he would often use the only form of speech he ever learned for anger, Earth's magnificent language.

But not only did Alexander fail to reign on his anger and language, he also ended up releasing his Death Aura for the first time in a very, very long time.

Feeling the wrath of Alexander coupled with his bondless killing intent, Wei Jiahao felt death looming over his head, the cold sensation of the grim reaper's scythe grazing his neck.

Breaking out in cold sweats, Wei Jiahao failed to control himself, his mouth closing shut in an instant, almost shattering his teeth before he sat down a few seats away, not daring to move a muscle.

After regaining some of his senses, he could only swallow his comments on Alexander's arrogance.

'What is this?! What kind of monster did I offend?! His Death Aura was much stronger than mine!' While Wei Jiahao was a powerful Ascension Realm fourth layer powerhouse, much stronger than Hu Guanting, his Death Aura was only Tier-7, a longshot from Alexander's own.

Once peace had once again returned, the tournament ended up resuming only a couple of days later.

Unfortunately for him, the fights, while miles better, were still insufficient for his standards.

However, once the long awaited quarter finals started, he widened his eyes at a participant.

'No way! Isn't this my good luck?' Smiling from ear to ear, many felt creeped out from the powerful expert's sudden change of mood.

This was especially true for the rest of the participants currently on stage, all of them shivering from fright.

Not yet stopping the fights, Alexander waited until his target was eliminated, just short from the final duel.

Seeing the dejected young man, he shouted loudly, for all to hear.

"Young man! You with the grey hair, do you want to gain benefits, become a peerless expert? Just stay with me for a bit, I promise to make the best out of your bondless talent!"

Listening to the scam-like words coming from Alexander's mouth, the young man frowned. Thinking how he would never accept such a proposition, his curiosity still ended up getting the best of him, forcing him to ask a single question.

"Will... you be my teacher, senior?" Telling himself to never accept if it was the case, he obtained a slightly different, unexpected answer.

"Haha! Don't worry young man, I'm not the one who will teach you! I know of an expert that has a suitable path for you to follow!"

"If you are interested, introduce yourself and come sit here."

Visibly hesitating, the young man opened his mouth.

"Senior! My name is Zhao Yong, a member of the Zhao Clan!"

"That's great! Now, let's go." Clearly ignoring the young man, Alexander enveloped Zhao Yong with Star Qi before releasing his Dao of Space all around. Vanishing, their figures reappeared into space. Not letting Zhao Yong recover, Alexander kept teleporting and flying madly into a specific direction.

A few days later, Alexander looked at a green world below.

"We arrived, whatever your name was."

"It's Zhao Y-" Cutting him short was Alexander's speed, descending near a small hill above a deep ravine.

Landing, he stepped forward, nearing a small wooden door placed on the hill's side.

After knocking gently a few times, the door opened, letting both of them witness the short stature of the old man behind.

Looking at the old man's grey hair and beard, Zhao Yong was slowly connecting the dots.

'Is he the one senior talked about?'

Interrupting his thoughts was the grumpy voice of the old man.

"Haha! Alexander, kiddo! It's been a while!" Smiling brightly, the old man stared at Zhao Yong with great interest, before narrowing his eyes.

"Old Tan, it's been a while, I have found a suitable sprout for you!" Remembering the lack of introduction, he did so fairly quickly.

"Ah! I almost forgot, this kid is Zhao something, kid, this man is Tan Jianghong, a true grandmaster of artifact refining! Old man, you probably noticed by now, I'll leave this guy with you, in exchange, why not craft me a little something?"

Frowning, Tan Jianghong stroked his beard lightly.

"Indeed, this young man possess the Blessed Forging Physique! It truly is a great find! As for your request... I don't mind, but it depends on what you can give me!"

A smirk present on his face, Alexander sent a Divine Sense message to Tan Jianghong who laughed evilly soon after.

"Hehehe! No problem kiddo! But I will need materials for this! Do you even have them?"

Taking out a space ring from his internal world, Alexander handed it over.

"Everything you need is in here! But, let's wait until I reach the eleventh layer. Once I do, you'll have more than enough time to refine it, so that in case I find a suitable opportunity for this, adding it to the artifact won't be problematic!"

Nodding with impatience, Tan Jianghong snatched the young man before closing his door shut, leaving some fading words behind.

"Thanks for this kiddo! Once you're done, come and find me!"

Adorning a satisfied smile, Alexander's body slowly vanished, as if he had never been there in the first place.
